Many thanks for this wonderful story! I never write reviews, but for you I was seriously considering opening a profile at Dokuga and just found that AFF allows anonymous reviews. I first found your Snow Angel last August. I loved it and read it in like a day/two! Then realised that you also wrote The Syndrome which I liked so I tried SWTPF, even though I try not to start unfinished pieces, and I absolutely loved this!!! I’ve read a huge ton of FFs, I think while there have been some awesome ones (I was fortunate to read some really great ones in the beginning which sucked me into this SxK pairing - and while I enjoyed IY the anime, I was never a huge fan. Dokuga’s turned me into an IY fan now haha), but this is my absolute #1 favourite story. Before this, there were a handful of pieces that I loved (still do) but didn’t really remember their names, just bookmarked as favs and couldn’t single out a favourite. This is a masterpiece with some really brilliant ideas. I absolutely love the way you portrayed Sess and Kag.

As Sess is a dad, and he’s in love for the first time - and hard - it’s to be expected that he’ll be slightly different from the original canon. I imagine a more mature Sess who’s humbled and changed by his love for Kag which I think you portrayed beautifully with a willingness to open himself to her. With the new relationships with his pups, with Kag, it’s not surprising to see his other relationships affected too - with Yasha (I’m loving the brotherly acceptance! And the pack cuddles!) It doesn’t mean he’s any less lethal or cold to his enemies/outside of his pack so I don’t really see him as OOC just that he’s character’s developed. I equally adore your Kag - she’s strong, opinionated but loving and down to earth. She’s not perfect, she definitely has a temper but not oversensitive/overreact, she has her bad days and even cusses at times but it all comes together to a very real, strong, loveable woman who’s reasonable and accepts her mistakes if she realises she’s wrong, which is quite close to original Kag who’s actually a very mature girl for a 15yo. I think Kag is one of the most difficult characters to really capture - I’ve seen too many Kags who are whiny/too goody goody/stupid/weak or oversensitive/has anger management issues. I do hate it when people think simply giving her a potty mouth makes her a “strong” character. Both your Sess and Kags are one of my favourite portrayals.

I love Sess’s inner inu too! He’s not the usual monosyllable beast just focussing on emotions (while those can be cute/funny too and nice way to show readers Sess’s hidden emotions, honestly a bit hard to accept a dumber beast to an intelligent being). I love your smart (and smartass) beast who’s proven to be right over and over again to Sess’s chagrin, and his interactions with Sess are hilarious. I was laughing out loud at his beast berating his supposed rational self - “when I left her we had our head on her lap. How did you go from the most perfect place on earth to her hating us in 15 minutes!”

And the pups…I absolutely love the 7 pups to pieces!!! They are uber cute, adorable, smart…I can’t believe they’re only like 1-1.5yo…and never knew a mother’s love…and growing up with a distant Sess…so starved for love…I’d love to see a lot more Kag and these 7 pups have some good quality times…

Not only are the characters great, your whole plot and ideas are intriguing, refreshing, the new adventure the enlarged pack with Sess and his pups will be embarking on is great. You’ve masterfully built up the new adventure under a well written scroll, with K’s dad, mum and Kaede overseeing, and woven it well with evil Naraku and his schemes. Loving how Sess and Kag got their alone time in her era, and their adventures there…and pups+Ship’s tricks on poor Kouga!

You write well too, clearly, and with minimal errors. I love the way you tell the story, and even the baddies who really are very evil, are written so masterfully. Many times I see people just making the evil characters unrealistically strong and giving them a strong advantage or creating very unrealistic situations to help the evil ones to create the angst/drama which is really frustrating. Your Kikyo and Naraku are absolutely wicked but it’s all very believable, and you create real angst and drama with a solid strong storyline without unrealistic twisting of situations or leaving gaping plot holes. I also like that there’s a sense of justice - evil Kikyo got her end…and despite the nefarious plots Naraku’s got brewing, there are hints that things may not go as he plans. Though I really hope he doesn’t get his hands on Kagome thru the fake shards like Souta’s visions are showing! Can’t believe he’s gonna get sucked into the story too!

I was so excited to find your update last Oct and since then I think I’ve reread this at least 10 times.  I’ve been going through a tough time and been suffering from some heavy depression and when things get really bad, I just come back to this story and read this. You don’t know just how much help it’s been where many other things haven’t helped… There’s something really magical about this story that manages to lift my spirits up. I’ve been checking Dokuga like almost every day to see if there are updates, but just realised you uploaded on AFF too (and googled you to see if you uploaded any more chapters in other sites (^^;  Actually, I’ve been tempted to read your Higher Education as that seems to be updated a little more frequently but didn’t want to chance loving that too and waiting for updates like this one so I’ll wait til that’s finished. Definitely something to look forward to. But I do tend to like the magic, skills and abilities in the feudal stories better than AU anyways.

You must be so busy with your 3 kids and homeschooling them, I’m amazed you managed to write these wonderful long masterpieces (I keep saying that but really they just are and I really don’t use that word often). I love the long length of Snow Angel and this one - they totally don’t drag on, there’s so much going on and in this one, plenty more to come!

This is a very long review but given the length of this story, and my review is very belated, and there are so many awesome things I love about this story (it would’ve been shorter to point out what I don’t like cuz there’s none!) it’s not too surprising. As with any story, there will always be a small number of horrible, rude readers, and others that may simply have different preferences so may not like certain portrayals/developments. While I can’t believe anyone would flame this, if they do, I do hope you don’t take it to heart. Just wanted you to know that you are a wonderful writer, and you have a huge fan (and I’m really picky, believe me) who absolutely adores your story and can’t wait for more.
