Ok, I like the story, but I've got a big problem, if my interpretation of your abbreviation is correct. When you said in the summary "BPD," did you mean Bipolar Disorder? If so, I'm afraid I have to point something out.

All bipolars cycle around into manic %sy asy and fast), hypomanic (very fast thinking), depression, and regular stages. But, there are type A and B bipolars. Type A's are the more alarming ones - the type I think you have made Kagome in the story. These people - when in a manic state - believe that they can jump off balconies and fly. Bipolars are NOT 'mental'; they appear that way, but to them they are making logical choices based on their emotional state and their integrity and willingness to continue in a bad situation.

As an example, what we call a 'normal' person can have a bad day - an argument with a coworker, etc. - by getting angry and insulting the person and such. In that same situation, a bipolar can't let it go, because they can't let go of insults directed at them, or allow people to be irrational. Believe it or not, most bipolare mre more logical: they actually don't get angry often, like 'normal' people do. It's simply that when they do show emotion, it bursts out, and society can't grasp the major, fast change, so they call it 'crazy' or 'unstable'. Also, bipolars have a tendency to be better thinkers and are more creative and innovative - espectially during a hypomanic state. Sadly, this phase can't last long because the fast pace of the brain overloads, and it crashes, and bipolarsep aep after the phase; it exhausts them!

Their suicidal and self-mutilating behaviour is caused almost always by environmental factors: the people they interact with and the situation. They are NOT insane, but appear that way to society because they are highly sensitive and very emotional - so much so that it unnerves and frightens the general public. Because bipolars are so different, society calls them insane, slapping the label on them because it can't cope with any exception to rules made for the majority, and push them into obscurity so that people don't become aware that bipolars are simply another TYPE of thinker - no less valuable or important than anyone else.

The truth is, society doesn't want to deal with bipolars, because they scare them. And that makes bipolars WORSE! Such ostricism causes a great deal of mental pain and stress for them, because they are being isolated. They cause physical pain (e.g. mutilation and cutting) to ease their mental anguish. To a bipolar, physical pain is MUCH better than mental.

I apologize if I'm misinterpreting your abbreviation, but I had to say this just in case. Besides, you learned something new, didn't you? By the way, I know this stuff because my mother is bipolar, and I've researched... heavily.

And THIS IS NOT A FLAME!! I'm simply informing.
