But sieriously man, just make longer paragraphs and people won't heckle you as much... and by the way... despite my distaste in rape, abuse, homesexual plots that make no sense (I'm straight so that may have something to do with it, haha) and overall hatred of bad writing, I have high hopes for you... Hi! i see where your coming from with the sudden mood swings (like u explained) i was spanked alot by my father, so i have a 'evil demon' over my shoulder alot, but if u see me in the streets u won't think so, because i try to smile at people walking down the streets, even thought i don't like human contact (anti-social and anxiaty) but i was (and still am) ADD (Attention Defisit Disorder) since i was very young, so some of them were justified spankings but some where because my father was from an abusive family and used my 'disabilty' for his gain. So pretty much the disabilty makes me forget what they told me not to do, and i do it. It's really annoying so i told everyone to leave notes or remind me, but they still don't and i get yelled at for 'forgetting' to do the dishes yet i did, lol but even now when im older spankings are different to me, they don't hurt...:) *cough* so just wanted to tell u that, i agree with u in the second chapter before u changed it, woman can be like that knowing they CAN do that. Somethings i even want to do that (what inuyasha did to kagome) (just so u know im a girl lol well a 22 year old girl)) I know men shouldn't hit, but woman force them to hit. i really like your storie thought and i hope u make more chapters!

While you DID bring up a good point that Inuyasha does have his pride reduced when he gets sat, one must also take into account that Inuyasha is more often than not the one who started the 'belittling' process. He only gets sat to keep his anger in check (and as such prevent him from picking many useless battles), insulting Kagome or Kaede (because Kaede asks Kagome to invoke the incantation), and when he physically won't let her leave. Plus, there is the whole thing wherein it keeps his demon blood from running amok, saved his life and the lives of others, and allows Kagome to 'even the playing field' when it comes to power.

Putting that aside, I don't think you looked at this plotline from all angles... How is Kagome causing Inuyasha to hit the deck (an action that is decidedly uncomfortable but not overly painful to a hanyou) equal to Inuyasha forcibly molesting and hurting Kagome? First off, no matter how mad he has been in the past, Inuyasha has NEVER acted as though he wanted to hurt her. And in your first ANs you stated that he was angry when she put the rosary back on in movie 3... Why didn't he attack her while they were off then if he was REALLY so disgruntled by it? But for the sake of argument, let's say this DID happen. Seeing Kagome in pain and knowing that he caused it would ride on his conscience every time she winced or even looked at him.

If you wanted to make a statement about how females don't answer for abuse the same way that males do, write a fic where that issue is CONFRONTED. Make Kagome see that what she was doing was WRONG and have her try to make amends. By writing what you did, you not only proved that the rosary is necessary to keep him from hurting people, but you put him on the very same abusive level that you were trying to vilify (if not a higher level since Kagome never touched Inuyasha in a place THAT personal) . If you set out to write a parody, I would not feel the need to say such things, but your first AN turned it into something serious, and thusly deserved a reply.

And the last several thousand years of subjugation in a male-dominated society didn't count because...? Women are raped and abused on a daily basis in this country. Hrtofdrkns, do some research and look up the numbers yourself if you don't believe me. Pardon me if as a woman living in a repressive, hidebound and reactionary, highly sexist society, I don't see men as an underprivilaged, oppressed minority. I've been in a real abusive relationship before, so let me tell you, God help some of the men I know if I had a sitting necklace. Your (generic your) ability to emotionally devastate a fellow human being has absolutely nothing to do with gender.

Inuyasha is a violent series. Not just dramatic violence, but also comic relief or slapstick violence. Inuyasha whacks Shippou, Sango whacks Miroku, Sesshoumaru whacks Jaken, etc, and no one (except maybe Sango) is morally in the right. None of it's meant to be taken seriously. And since when are women shown any quarter in combat in the series? Inuyasha slays female demons as readily as male. The sits don't hurt as much as half the Inuyasha fandom seems to believe. It wouldn't make much sense for Kagome to sit him to prevent Inuyasha from hurting himself in a fight with Kouga if the sits hurt as much as a thrashing, would it? Inuyasha wasn't upset when Kagome replaced the sitting necklace. He was annoyed.

Kagome is not at all the way you describe her. She's said herself she hates violence: she doesn't even smack Miroku for groping her and she never laughs at Inuyasha when she sits him (she's usually, with justification, furious). Don't forget that Inuyasha constantly belittles and insults her, tries to boss her around, and completely disreguards her feelings when Kikyou's around. She usually feels bad for unintentionally making him jealous--and taking credit for other people's accomplishments? Gee, projection much? Any abuse is on a two-way street. Inuyasha wouldn't get sat if he'd exercise a little self-discipline and learn some social skills.

Whoa... talk big. Are you thinking about the Anime or Manga? and yeah the 'sit' was overused in the anime NOT in the Manga though, and if you disagree i'd say 'you're not fair' it's not like she 'sit' him for fun, inthe manga at least, the anime version is more bitchier and most fic's are more so. for your information too the kotodama nenju helps in reverting the berserking inuyasha, only once though. read 'white dog' by beckytailweaver or something chapter 14, there's possible possible reason she doesn't break thebeads or around chapter 10 or something, i forgot.

Please, you must continue this story. I love it so far. I, too, hate the beads. True, Kagome is a whiny, little drama queen. But what 15-year-old girl isn't? Trust me, I know.
Let your fantasies run wild with this. What would you do to Kagome if you were Inuyasha. I'd really like to read what you can come up with.

I think the fic would have been better if you left off the explanation. Inuyasha has the beads because he is a *demon* - not so much that he's male. If Inuyasha was exactly the same save for his gender, I doubt that many people would have a problem with her being 'sat'. Especially if Kagome (as a male) was considerably less strong than the half-demon female.

As far as the points you made about women getting away with abuse, I think it stems from the centuries of it going the other way. Men owned their wives and beat them if they so desired. Personally, I take issue with ANYONE who raises a hand to someone else. However, I *DO* support fighting back against an abuser. And let's not forget that Inuyasha has the beads because he tried to KILL Kagome. Not to mention that the 'sits' don't exactly cause the pain to end all pain.

Try not to take this too seriously. Kagome sits Inuyasha FAR less as the series progresses because of their trust. But Inuyasha is STILL part demon, and that part on occasion must be subdued. And sometimes, you must admit, he has it coming. ^_~ And yes, I would make the same arguments if he were female.

An interesting approach to the beads dilema, I rather enjoyed it until your Authors note about why you wrote it. But then I suppose you worte it for this kind of response.
Have you ever considered the fact that they are not equals? Inuyasha is male, which already gives him an advantage, but he is also a half demon, one intent on killing Kagome on first meeting her. He is stronger then her, faster then her and could snap her neck or leave her to die in the beginning in a heart beat. In the beginning she may have used the beads inappropriatly, but mostly she used them to save Inuyasha. Later on she does restrain herself and only uses them when she has to.
You also have to remember, she is only 15, so stupid reasons are sure to occur. With out the beads, Inuyasha would likely never let her go home though, so I don't see that as a stupid reason. He could physically keep her from doing it. As to her being a whiney bitch, to each their own, people read into characters what they want to see.

I agree, if it were happening to a woman it would be outragous. But if she were a half demon, I don't think there would be a problem with it. Reversing the sex roles in my head, it would still make sense.
