Your story is really good. I'm at at lost for words, so keep up the good work. I think this story should be a Kagome/Youko/Sesshomaru fiction. That would be a really good pairing. :)

Wow...just wow. I couldn't get past chapter 3 without wanting to rip out my teeth. Spell check wouldn't hurt, and doing research and double checking your overall grammar would not kill you, this is for future reference before you start writing another story.

You also are doing what so many people love to do in the Inuyasha fandom, and that's making Kagome too powerful. The beauty of Kagome is that she is normal and a regular girl. Yes, odd things do happen to her and she wouldn't be considered to have a normal life but she's normal and not an all-powerful miko like so many writers like you describe. You should add OOC to the warnings on this, because I wouldn't even consider her Kagome anymore. Also, last thing I am going to bitch about is your use of the Japanese language.

When the attempt of using Japanese terms in a story, by all means yes it's an anime fandom, so essentially it is Japanese, but if it's not your native language, you shouldn't bother. Write in English, no one is going to think badly of you if don't throw in Japanese words that you are using in the wrong context to begin with. You might think it's witty or that you’re sticking with the story more but it seems pretentious.

Honey, what you need is a beta reader and a really good one at that.

I apologize if this sounds harsh.

I would like to point out that if you have seen Memoirs of a Geisha it is fairly accurate and would help in reading this story. Which by the way i like very much.

You know if you don't like what someone has to say then what is the point of reading their story. Do you really need to find poeple that make mistackes and bitch about it. If you don't don't like the story then stop reading and go eleswhere. Don't be a child about it and say unneeded shit. If all you wanted to do correct the mistake that was made then you need to find a better way to do it. Or Did you mommy never teach you any better . But anyway I for one Love the story and do hope that you update again soon.

I understand and respect your defense of the sources and terms that you have chosen for use in your story. There are good ways and bad ways to bring things to anyone's attention. I also, understand to some degree what the other reviewers have stated. No one refutes that your mother is pure Korean, however, as was mentioned, Korean, and Japanese are not the same thing. Similar...Yes! Same...No! That is like saying that Greek and Italian are the same.

It most definitely is a misconception that Geisha are whores, and again, no one says that they do not offer themselves to men. It is, however, NOT the norm, and in fact is a rare thing that the true traditional Geisha would do. As was mentioned, it is easy to fix the errors and admirable that you have taken steps to correct such things. Also, keep in mind that citing 'I read about them being whores in many fanfic', is not a very good defense, as such stories are call 'fiction' for a reason, not just because they are not real. Had you been able to cite a reference from a dictionary, encyclopedia, or other reliable reference, it would have made for a much better defense and made your argument more plausible.

Please, however, try looking at this matter from another point of view.

You have a VERY good story going here, with a great plot. The presentation over all it quite well thought out. As I mentioned before, you need to really do a spelling and grammar check...."probebly" is actually 'probably'...it is not the 'Goshinbaku', it is the 'Goshinboku'. It you are going to use Japanese terms, PLEASE make sure of your definitions and the usage before you put it into your story.

Take for example your use of Shina, which you claim means 'virtuous'. Actually, it means nothing of the kind. In fact, here are the actual definitions of the word:

Noun 1. Shina - a Dardic language spoken in northern Kashmir
Dard, Dardic, Dardic language - any of a group of Indic languages spoken in Kashmir and eastern Afghanistan and northern Pakistan

    * Shina (word), a Japanese term for China that is considered offensive

Shina (??, ??) is a Japanese term that is viewed by most Chinese people as a highly offensive racist term for China. Originally a word used neutrally in both Chinese and Japanese, the word gained a derogatory tone due to its widespread usage in the context of the Second Sino-Japanese War.

    * Shina language, a language spoken in Hunza, Pakistan

Shina is a Dardic Language spoken by 321,000 people in Gilgit in Northern Pakistan in Ishkoman and Yasin Valley and in parts of Hunza. Spoken in Northern Areas including Gilgit District, scattered villages in Yasin and Ishkoman valleys, Punial, Gilgit, Haramosh, lower Hunza Valley; Diamer District, Chilas area, Darel and Tangir valleys, Astor Valley; scattered areas of Baltistan District, Satpara, Kharmang, Kachura, and other small valleys; NWFP, east part of Kohistan District, Sazin, Harban. Also spoken in India.

    * Shina, A Language of Pakistan

    'Virtuous' in Japanese is 'tokunotakai'

Try using the tools at hand. The Internet is after all, call the Information Highway for a very good reason. It is a wealth of information and resources right at your finger tips and takes almost nothing to use.

    Japanese to English Dictionary

While not perfect, these three sources are an excellent way to find information and definitions for tons of stuff, including many of the terms that you are trying to use. They are invaluable in offering definitions, and resources to make what you are trying to do more accurate.

This is a great story, and I so look forward to seeing you continue it. I just do not want to see your fic and you torn apart by those who are far less tolerant of the use of the terms that you are looking to have in your story. It would not be fair to either you, your story, or those who are really enjoying this fic.

You really should rechecked your Japanese. "Okinawa- fruit bat" Considering that this is an island in the Sea of Japan, and one of the prefectures of Japan, it is highly doubtful that they call it 'fruit bat'.

Oh, yeah?! Well, MY Mom is Turkish (full-blooded!), and SHE says that a geisha is a type of salamander! So there!

(But seriously, if you found out that you'd made an egregious error in an earlier chapter, why on earth didn't you go back and CORRECT it? It doesn't take a Herculean effort to edit chapters on this or any other fanfic site. Nor does it take much effort to actually look up the words you purport to define; if you'd done that, you'd know that Inu-Yasha - 犬夜叉 - does not, in fact, mean "female dog demon." Takahashi-sensei herself explained this in an interview. "Inu" = dog, "yasha" = forest spirit. Do you really believe that the manga-ka would make such a glaring mistake in her native language?)

For a quick history lesson, most Asian cultures are not fond of other Asian cultures. Koreans (especially older generations) still hold on to a lot of bad blood due to things that occurred during the Japanese occupation. Even ignoring that, despite the blanket “Asian” term, each country has considerable differences. So asking a “pure blood Korean” to translate Japanese is rather like walking up to a random white person and asking them to translate French.

Now how does that saying go? Beggars can’t be choosers? News flash, sugar. You’re posting your story to public forum. Which means you’re going to get people who respond to you in a variety of ways. I don’t know you and feel absolutely no obligation to cater to your delicate feelings. I’m not in the slightest bit insulted to be referred to as a bitch by you, mainly because you’re only proving my point. You say: “Those who judge a person about what knowledge they have picked up from others are truly idiots.” Actually, it’s the ones who don’t do research to make sure the information they’re getting from said others is correct and then expect to be praised for their lack of accuracy who corner that market.

The only thing better than being willing to absorb information is making sure the information you’re so eager to absorb is actually correct.

Just for your information, and before someone takes insult by your words, the term Geisha does NOT mean 'Concubine/Whore/Slut for sale'. It never did, and still doesn't. Trying looking up the meanings of your terms before you post them. The word is defined as follows:

    Geisha or Gei·shas
One of a class of professional women in Japan trained from girlhood in conversation, dancing, and singing in order to entertain professional or social gatherings of men.

Geisha never sold their services for their bodies. They are a time honoured, proud, and highly respected group that offered much to the culture that they are a part of. While not as prominent in Japanese culture as they once were, they are still a very respected group of women. To call them as you have is highly slanderous and could easily insult someone who is familiar with the ways of the Japanese.

Ahahahaha! How amusing. Don't ask why I'm odd like that . It's like a battle for Kagome's hand, I rather like the Youko(or Kurama) pairing, but I really wouldn't object to whatever you decide, unless it's Inuyasha...Who has a mate, which is pregnant (how the hell did that happen by the way?). Anyway, I can't wait to see what you do next this is highly entertaining.

Kage Otome here, From FF.Net, Who would've pegged Sesshoumaru and Youko for cuddlers, certainly not I, but it is amusing, especially what happened after that. ^_^ That was amusing. So Kagome's on something like a sugar high because of the energy around her? Interesting and she has guardian angels so to speak. Hm. Interesting.
