I was just starting to figure out what is going on but now I see that this is the last chapter posted. Lif is cruel,...please tell me this story hasn't been abandoned???

I'm only on Ch.3 and while I'm enjoying this story, I must admit that I have no clue as to what's going on. I really hope there will be more explanations in the coming chapters because these 1st few chapters really don't make any sense to me, and I'm very confused.
