It's truly amazing to me how cleverly you maneuver your characters and readers into any position you desire. Sesshomaru's antagonism toward and abuse of Inuyasha ensures that he could never be pitied for any punishment and pain that Inuyasha could inflict upon him. That may still be true. I feel a thrill each time Inuyasha stabs his point home into Sesshomaru, deflating his dreams of reconciliation. It's beyond adding insult to injury, after the pain and humiliation, the abandonment and solitude and hardships he forced upon Inuyasha, that he could ever expect there to be peace between them. He did not come around because of any quality within himself, but because of something Nefrume forced upon Inuyasha that he inadvertantly got dragged into: reliving the most painful memories Inuyasha has. Since he actually EXPERIENCED Inuyasha's pain as his own, FINALLY he could understand the enormity of the impact of his own selfishness and cruelty. I have loved the back stories you've given us, making this story so richly saturated in history and atmosphere, and giving us great insight into the motivations and perspectives of your characters. This brings me to the crux of what I wanted to tell you. Anyone would expect Sesshomaru to be a heartless character that the reader could happily abuse and see in pain, but that is not what we have here. As much as I love Inuyasha getting a bit of his own back, and as much as I acknowledge that Sesshomaru deserves this pain and more, still, as your carefully cultivated reader, I feel tremendous sympathy for Sesshomaru, and can't help but hope for healing between the brothers.

I also love the new characters you have introduced, and the history and relationships you have surrounding them. The complexity of this story is growing in leaps and bounds. What's truly remarkable is that the new things brought into the story do not in any way detract from the main story line of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. Rather, they enrich the dynamics between the brothers. Sure do love this story.

I have been reading this story for two days now and it stops there!!!!! I want to hit you or something! Please write more! I really really enjoyed it and I have not read such an engaging story that caused me to want to read it so much that I would sit hours and hours reading and enjoying every moment. I truly enjoyed this story but you need to update soon! I really want to know what happens next! Will Inuyasha be alright? Will Naraku rape him? Will Sesshomaru be able to save Inuyasha? Please update soon! These questions will plague me until you do!!!!!!!!

It's funny, I was thinking just yesterday how much I'd like to see a new chapter of this fic and here you are today delivering one. I'm happy, I loved it. There were typos but it was a very long chapter so I can't really blame you. It didn't distract me from enjoying it in any way, so it doesn't really matter.
I am shocked, I never believed some of the guards would be such asshole, some even going as far as attacking Rin. Oh but I will surely enjoy the punishments Sesshomaru will deal once he'll be back.
Anyway, thank you for the update. I hope the next one will be soon. :)

Damn, that was gut wrenching! Having Sesshomaru live through Inuyasha's most painful moments, feeling what he was feeling, hearing his thoughts, was the most powerful lesson in growing up that could EVER be visited upon Sesshomaru. Still wish his youki would kick his ass into the ground, though. I love how creative and exciting this story is. The action and fighting is beyond awesome, and the building of emotional tension is highly effective. Great story!

That's an amazing back story you've come up with, and I'm in awe of the insight we now have into Sesshomaru's past and perspective, and I can't love enough the conflict between "This Sesshomaru" and "That Sesshomaru." I LOVE how his youki is punishing him and is mocking him. This story is becomming more and more complex, and it's very exciting.

That fight was AWESOME! Wow, did they both take a pounding, but in the end, Sesshomaru got it good. Funniest thing EVER - Inuyasha coming back to himself and hightailing it as quick as his legs could move. So freakin' funny. What ever happened to enjoying the afterglow indeed. LOVED more than anything your take on "This Sesshomaru" and "That Sesshomaru." The inner youkai voices are cool characters in their own right.

Holy smokes! That was unbelievable! Gut wrenching, in fact. What is it about Inuyasha that invites the most selfish, abusive side of others to come out and play with him? He's caring and strong, and OK, abrasive and curses a lot, but so what? His fine qualities far outweigh any of his negative traits. So, what about him leads others to feel free to use him as their whipping boy? It's probably because he is so caring, and because he's so gentle with those who are weaker than him and who are under his protection, they take that as an invitation to use him as a mat. Now he's given them some food for thought. How I hope their thoughts turn introspective, and how they see what they have done. It'll be hard for them to face their inner demons when they think so highly of themselves, and that they are superior and are the "good guys," when in fact they are nothing better than abusers themselves. That was a very powerful scene, the blow up with his pack. Damn Kagome for making him force her to take that thrice damned rosary off. She should have willingly done so if she was thinking of becoming engaged to him.

That was amazingly satisfying. Venting vicariously via Inuyasha has brought such relief! The bigger, stronger body, the senseless destruction and violence, and, most important of all, the utter stomping flat of Sesshomaru physically, emotionally, and rationally, has left me feeling limp and sated. Ahhhhhh. Now that's what I'm talking about. I also very much like this concept of growth stages and reaching different levels of maturity, as well as the lack of knowledge of Hanyou growth.
