I haven't read IABM yet, just finished reading this one right after the entire Home series and this fits as a perfect ending for it. You truly have a gift for making me wanna cry and cuddle Sessoumaru (possibly getting me killed most painfully). Anyways, I'm gonna start IABM now for sure and see what it's all about :) Thank you again so much for sharing this story with us. You are an amazing writer. Hugs

Superb. Well written, of course. I've missed your writing more than I knew. I actually was the one who suggested to firemiko to read your stories. I'm glad I did. ^^

I was right, he shut himself down and became heart-less...literally. I do admit there's a similar air to Blue Moon, but something about this Sesshoumaru is different. He's stronger, yet weaker at the same time. Stronger because he decides to do something with himself and leave. Weaker, because he chooses to live a life without love and to leave that with his dead father and dead past. Plus,in Blue Moon Touga was more...well...in The Home one-shots he had more consideration and care even though he did what he did at the end of Home Wrecker.

I will say that I would love if you spun off a series off of this...like how Sesshoumaru deals with it, how he meets Rin and starts to feel again. Towards the end of the InuYasha series, it seems Sesshoumaru kind of finds some sort of acceptance and peace. And who knows, maybe he will open his heart once more. I don't know, but I can see a continuation of this. And I think it would be different from In a Blue Moon. If you ever need to have ideas bounced off, I'm around. Just email me or whatever.

Hm, one thing though...I wonder if Touga felt the same way? Maybe he felt Sesshoumaru didn't and couldn't love him, like his mother couldn't and didn't. They say silence says it all and I guess Touga figured his son's silence meant he didn't love him. I suppose I would be annoyed if someone I loved went back and forth from leaving and coming back to me. So I can kinda see why he was so angry and cruel in the end. He was at his wit's end and was tired of being on pause. Wanted to live and to feel something. Wanted to be loved by someone he felt loved him back.

In my opinion, I believe they both loved each other, but couldn't communicate. Touga wouldn't, and Sesshoumaru couldn't. I remember what Touga said to Sesshoumaru before he died. It was like he was testing him for something, waiting to hear something. Giving him one last chance. Of course Sesshoumaru didn't take it and I bet both of them regret that choice.

    Good ending, though. Bitter sweet.

This is a sad oneshot, but very well written. I can imagine Sesshoumaru holding the body of his deceased Father and crying over him although Sesshoumaru rarely shows emotion.
I wonder, if Inuyasha died if Sesshoumaru would feel any remorse for him. Just a passing thought.
