Great introductory chapter; I didn't think it was too serious. So far everyone seems in character; except for Myoga, why would Inu Yasha's faithful if cowardly retainer scheme against his hanyou lord? Can't wait for more.

Oh no (fear in my voice)...please tell me that this is an Inu-Kag and you won't be putting them with other characters...for the love of god :)
I know, it's terribly childish but I can't stomach that pair with anyone else but each other. To me they are meant to be together...esp after going through so much.
Otherwise, you have a nice setup...but you're scaring me with the potential for the aphrodesiac to be used randomly....
