It is a good set up for a longer story but it needs just a little more for a one shot. Why is she so surprised to be his life mate if she is carrying his child and knows exactly where the mark is. And a little more detail on what sent her running off ultimately risking her life and her child's life. I don't think it would take much if you wanted a really good one shot but you could definitely build if you wanted a longer story.

Very interesting start. I would love to see where this is going if you still plan to continue it. Your imagery and word usage are very good. I like that she can sense the aura of the baby. Is this falling into the actual storyline anywhere? Or is it just a "during the quest randomly" story? Either works, but I'm wondering about it being winter and Inuyasha actually letting Kagome run away into the snow. Hope to see more, good job! :)
