The Young and the Heartless

Kagome sighed as she looked over her Calculus homework. "They want me to do what with x?" she paused with confusion on her face. She had been home for almost a month now. She had devoted her time while she was home to her homework. Through some kind of a miracle she had managed to bring all her grades up to solid A�s. She was quite pleased with herself. She had never really done well in her classes before but for some reason she seem motivated.

Dropping her work on her oak wooden desk in front of her, she ran her fingers through her raven black hair. She pulled it behind her ears and rubbed her eyes. Her soft brown eyes scanned her room looking for her watch. She spied it lying underneath her bed. She dropped off her computer chair and crawled on her hands and knees snatching the watch that read 1:37 a.m.

"Shit!" she murmured underneath her breath. She stood stretching out her body. A breeze coming from her open window sent shivers down her spine. She clasped her arms for warmth and walked over to her window. She looked out and saw the purple enchanting night sky. So many times she camped underneath that sky with Sango, Miroku, Shippou, Kaede, and��InuYasha.

Kagome shook her head for even thinking his name. Moonlight shone through uncovering the shrine where the well was from the darkness. She wanted to go back to the feudal era one last time but she already promised she would not go back. Not unless InuYasha�.. No I am not going back, she shook her head once more. "Damn you InuYasha!" she whispered angrily and shut her window.

* Flash Back *
"Kagome! I love you!" said a beautiful wolf demon named Kouga.

Kagome too shocked for words just looked at the wolf demon with shock in her eyes. Kouga should not have been the one to say those words to her. She had dreamed everynight that it was InuYasha who would say those words. He would be the one to take care of her and bring her happiness, but in all actuality he was the one who hurt her the most. Kagome looked at Kouga trying to find the words to tell him that her heart belonged to InuYasha only even if he didn�t want it.

"Kouga�I..I," but she was cut off by Kouga as he lunged forward mingming her lips with his. Kagome�s grew big with surprise and fear. She knew Kouga would never hurt her but she feared his love for her. She feared that out of love he would harm InuYasha. Kagome put her hands on his chest and pushed. Kouga tightened his arms around her. Kagome was trapped. Kouga crushed her against his chest and thrust his hungry tongue in her mouth. She pushed his chest agtryitrying her best to break his kiss.

Kouga moaned in the back of his tt. Kt. Kagome�s eyes roamed around looking for some sign of help. The only thing she saw was a white-haired demon coming toward them with his sword Tetsaiga drawn. Kagome�s brain finally registers what her eyes were trying to tell her. It�s InuYasha. He�ll kill Kouga! Kagome bit down on Kouga�s bottom lip causing him to break the kiss.

"Ow!" he shouted but then his eyes saw InuYasha charging toward him. Kagome, not wanting a fight stepped in front of Kouga at the last minute to have Tetsaiga braise her shoulder giving her a shallow cut. InuYasha pulled the sword back instantly. "Kagome?" he asked her. He put Tetsaiga in its sheath and moved closer to her. "Why? Did you come between me and him?" he asked her with a lump in his throat.

"InuYasha," she whispered his name. "Do you want him Kagome?" he asked her.

Kouga clasped Kagome�s hand and pulled her to his chest. "You have hurt her InuYasha! You have hurt my mate! You shall die!"

"Mate? Kagome?" he asked her. Kagome was to stunned to even say anything. Before she said anything InuYasha took off. He was running as fast as he could away from her. A tear gleamed down his cheek. "So she has chosen him afterall!" and he ran faster than he had ever run before in his life.

"Kagome?" asked Kouga looking at her with concern in his eyes. Kagome met his gaze for only moment�and then�. SLAP� right across Kouga�s face. "How could you!" she shouted and took off in the direction InuYasha was headed. Kagome ran wanderlust through the forest. It was dangerous running through the forest alone.

Kagome looked around frantically. She finally came to a clearing in the forest where she saw the hanyou sitting on the stream bank. His white tresses blowing in the breeze. He was so beautiful she thought. She walked behind him and gently put her hand on his shoulder. "InuYasha" she purred. "Feh, Don�t touch me after you�ve touched him! I will not have his left overs!"

Kagome�s hand sprang backward as if it had been bitten. She started to feel hurt inside, but hur hurt was replaced by anger. "You Bastard!" she shouted. InuYasha turned to see tears streaminwn hwn her face. "How can you say that? Can�t you see that I have only feelings for you?" she asked him. "Of course you don�t, you are still pining over Kikyou to even notice them!" she answered for him before he could.

"Feh, don�t bring Kikyou into this!" he growled standing his height toppling over hers. Kikyou looked into InuYasha�s golden eyes and they had turned an amber color and she could see he was angry. "Or what InuYasha? I don�t understand you! You are trying to claim both of us!" she shouted once more.

"I am not trying to claim anyone!" he yelled closing the gap in between them. "I wish you would leave me the fuck alone! Gods, woman you give me more trouble than you are worth! Go back to your well why don�t you!" he screamed, but he wished he could take back all of those words when he saw the look on her face.

Tears hit the ground where Kagome stood. "I will! And I will never come back! I make that a promise!" she yelled and turned on her heel running away from InuYasha forever. InuYasha tried to make a move to catch her but was immobile. He buried his head in his hands. "Fuck! Why am I such a screw up!" he shouted as he broke into a fast run.

* End of Flashback *
"Good morning Kagome!" said a brown headed boy walking to Kagome and her locker.

"Oh Hi Hojo," she said with a fake smile spreading across her face.

Hojo was a nice guy and all but she didn�t like him like he liked her. Ever since her last argument with InuYasha she didn�t want to even speak to anyone. She had been down in the dumps. She barely ate and she barely slept. When she did sleep she dreamed of InuYasha. She had lost an excess amount of weight and her skirts did not even fit her properly anymore. They slipped off her hips. Her mother had to hem them so they would not slip.

A complete month and a half had passed by and she had not gone back into the well. She thought about her friends often. She wond how how Shippou was doing without her and if Miroku was still harassing Sango and if InuYasha��. "No!" she told herself again!

"InuYasha!" said Shippou as he came up behind him. "Why don�t you go and get her! You know you want to!" InuYasha jumped up in fright.

"Feh! Why would I wanna go and get her for?" he shouted at the little fox.

"Because you have been moping around ever since she left," Miroku joining the conversation.

"Well she said she was not coming back and it looks that way! It has already been a month going on two," he told Miroku and sat back down. The priest looked down on the silver-haired hanyou with warm eyes. "You know she will come back if you go and get her!" and he bopped him on the head with his staff.

"Oh What the Hell!!" said InuYasha as he rubbed the top of his head.

"Go and get her!" said Miroku as he went to swing his staff to hit him in the head again.

InuYasha caught the staff in the air, "Feh, Not this time monk!"

Miroku laughed, "InuYasha, I promise if you just go and get her she will come back!"

With that InuYasha took off towards the well to go and get Kagome.

InuYasha crept out of the shrine onto Kagome�s yard. He looked up to her window which was closed. She never had her window closed! He walked on towards another window that led into the kitchen. There he saw Kagome and her mother.

"Kagome! Please eat! You must," her mother pleaded with her. Kagome stood and put the dish that had a full meal on it away, "Mother I am not hungry! If I eat I will throw up!"

InuYasha�s stomach gave a jerk. He looked at Kagome closer and noticed she didn�t pack as much meat on her bones. She hasn�t been eating! I am truly a Bastard! Kagome walked out of the kitchen and into her bedroom.

She flopped herself on her bed. ing ing her arms around herself she began to weep. It was a usual routine she did. "I miss him so much!" she cried and buried her head in a pillow.

InuYasha had ran to her bedroom window and peeked in to see the crying Kagome. His insides turned cold and he wanted to comfort her. He felt the need to take her into his arms and kiss her soft gentle lips and tell her that everything was going to be ok. But, everything was not ok. He had hurt her.

Kagome stopped weeping. She looked to her window as if she felt someone was watching her. Indeed someone was watching her. "Where is he most when I need him!" she shouted and walked over the window. She flung the window open to see InuYasha sitting there.

"InuYasha?" she whimpered and thhe bhe burst into tears. InuYasha crawled in through the window. Kagome turned to walk away from him but he caught her wrist pulling her towards him. Head rad rested on the hollow of his throat and she buried her face in his hard chest. InuYasha put his arms around her savoring the moment that they were having. "Kagome," he purred as he smelt her raven hair of apple blossoms.

The smell of her drove him crazy. She had been away too long. He didn�t realize how incomplete he was without her until he held her close. Kagome pulled away her soft brown eyes locking with his golden amber eyes. "InuYasha!" she said sternly.

"Yes?" he asked her wanting to pull her into his arms again. "I..I� love you!" she told him and flung herself into his arms again. InuYasha stood there with is arms around her very surprised. She loved him. He loved her to but would he admit it to her? Kagome pulled away from him once more and looked at him questioningly, "Do you not feel the same about me?"

InuYasha looked at Kagome. Her mouth started to quiver and tears were welling in her eyes. He leaned forward claiming her lips with his own. Her mouth melted underneath him. She tasted of apple blossom and she was oh so sweet. He parted her lips and deepened the kiss with his tongue. Kagome moaned in her throat and pulled him closer to her. She needed him so bad. This is what she had desired for so long. Many nights she lay awake and imagined InuYasha would come to her and kiss her like he. Sh. She could not believe she was actually awake and he was holding her and kissing her passionately. InuYasha pulled from the kiss and nuzzled her cheek. Holding her was sheer ecstasy and kissing her was like he was ecstasy and beyond.

"Please come back!" he whispered in her ear sending shivers down through her body. "Ok" was her reply. InuYasha pulled from their embrace and jumped out the window. Kagome was in a daze. Was that real? Did InuYasha really kiss me? I have to go back. Kagome grabbed a bag and started to throw clothes in it. She ran into the kitchen grabbing all kinds of food.

Her walked into the kitchen and saw Kagome packing food. "Are you going back to the feudal era?" "Yes, I am!" she replied wiskly zipping up the food she had packed. Kissing her mother on her cheek, she ran out of her house and down the well.

By the well InuYasha paced back and forth waiting for Kagome. "Where is she!" "How long does it take!"

Suddenly Kagome jumped out of the well. InuYasha turned and met her gaze. It had been just a few minutes since they saw each other and he missed her like she was gone for years. He ran and grabbed her in his arms. He ran his clawed hand through her hair. "Kami, I have missed you so!" he purred and then before she could speak he devoured her mouth hungrily. She kissed him back with passionate defiance that challenged any dominance over her. It was as though a fire had erupted in her and she lifted her body onto InuYasha winding her legs around his waist as he kissed her. InuYasha broke the kiss suddenly.

He looked into Kagome�s beautiful eyes and saw the longing in her eyes. "Um� Kagome� Where did you learn to kiss like that?" he asked her quite taken back by the way she kissed him back. "I never learned, I just felt it," she told him. She reached her arms to kiss him again but he stepped backwards. "We should slow down, for if you kiss me like that again I will be forced to take you!" he told her. Kagome laughed, " I don�t see a problem with that!" she told him seductively and licked her lips.

"Kagome! Don�t tempt me!" he scolded her and Kagome kissed his cheek and flicked her tongue across his neck. "Kami!" he murmured when fou found his ear and was sucking on his ear lobe. He gently pushed her away. "I can�t! Well, I can! But not like this."

"Why?" she asked him a little disappointed. "When hanyous or demons take a mate they mate for life."

"Oh I see! Do you not want me to be your mate?" she teased him.

"Oh you know the answer to that! But I would rather make it special. I want to make sure everything is perfect." He told her.

Kagome hugged InuYasha around his waist putting her head in his chest. "Alright, I will respect your wishes. Though it will be hard," she said as she hugged him tighter and giggled.

"Kagome!!!!" shouted a little fox boy who came running up to the two that were in an embrace. Kagome withdrew from InuYasha�s arms and ran to the little fox boy. "Oh Shippou!" Shippou jumped into her arms and hugged her. "I am so glad you are home Kagome! I have missed you so!" "I am sorry Shippou! I don�t know how I could ever have left you!"

InuYasha smiled at Kagome and Shippou�s reunion and he saw Miroku and Sango come up behind Shippou. "Oi! InuYasha! I see you have brought the lovely Kagome back! All is well!" Kagome ran to Miroku and hugged his neck. "Kagome, my beauty it is good to have you back! Now that you are back would you bare my children?!" Sango whacked Miroku in the back of his head with her hand. InuYasha growled but no one noticed it. "Hentai Monk!" said Sango as she embraced Kagome in a hug. Kagome laughed. It was good to have her friends back.

"Kagome," said InuYasha in a whisper as he came behind her putting his arm possessively around her. Kagome turned and smiled at him. "Yes?" she asked him.

"We have to get to the village and see Kaede. She has been worried about you as well. And there we discuss some private matters." He told her and he noticed Miroku, Sango, and Shippou�s eyes were looking at them curiously. Miroku seemed to figure it out first and laughed. Slapping InuYasha on the back, he said, "So finally InuYasha?" Sango caught on right after he did and smiled at Kagome. She herself was in love with a perverted monk but�..she would not dare say anything until the right moment so..she took her love on hin him by beating him. Oh how she love to do that as well. All five companions started to make their way to the village.

***** Well there is the first chapter! This is my first fanfic! I read them all the time on here and I decided it would be pretty kool if I could make my own. Please review..and tell me if I should carry on with the story. ^.^ I am not sure if you guys will like it because almost every InuYasha fanfic I have read pertains to the mating and all that you know? Well�please review and tell me honestly what you think! Please don�t be nice either! I need to know! Thank you
