"Kagome can we go home now?" Inuyasha whined, "We’ve been in the mall for four hours. I’m hungry, tired, and I want to put these packages down. I think you have enough clothes for the summer that you’ller her have to wear the same outfit twice."

"Please Inuyasha, you’re acting like the world is coming to an end. Besides if you had your way, I wouldn’t wear anything all summer long."

"Another good point." Kagome sighed and turned to look at him. He really did look tired. His dog-ears were drooping, and his arms were loaded down with a number of different colored bags.

"You are the one who insisted we take a vacation for the summer. I don’t have clothes for that, or at least I no longeve cve clothes for such a thing." Inuyasha’s mouth turned up and Kagome’s scowled. "Look Inuyasha, if you would just be gentler on my clothes, we wouldn’t have to shop so much."

"Fine, fine. Gentle on the clothes or no complaining while we shop." He sighed in defeat. "So what else do you need?"

"Just one thing. A swimsuit." Kagome giggled when his ears straightened on top of his head and his eyes lit up. "I knew you’d like that. Come on, we still have an hour and half before we have to meet the others." She turned and started off again, this time withyashyasha trailing happily behind her. They turned into a large department store and headed to the back. Kagome hummed softly as she sorted through the different suits. Every once in a while she would pulled one off a rack look at it then either replace it or hook it on her arm.

"Hey Kagome." Inuyasha called, "How about this one?" she looked up to see him holding a tiny, leopard print bikini. He had a huge grin on his face.

&quohavehave a sock made out of more material then that." She replied dryly. His ears drooped slightly and he gave her ‘the puppy’ face. Kagome sighed. "Ok, I’ll try it on. I’m not promising I’ll buy it, but I’ll try it on." She took the swimsuit from the now very happy hanyou and hung it on her arm with the others. She choose several more and Inuyasha added a few he liked to the options. When Kagome had at least a dozen swimsuits hanging from her arm she headed for a changing room.

The short hallway was carpeted in worn red carpet and lined with doors in different states of disrepair. The fact that they all stood open attested to the fact they had the place to themselves. Kagome walked to the end and found a room that had both a mirror and hangers, as well as not being over filled with clothing that other people had rejected. She hung up the suits to try on and left Inuyasha out side with instructions to watch her stuff. He responded with a ‘Feh’ as he leaned against the wall and crossed his arms.

Kagome shed her clothes, folding them and setting them aside, then turned to her choices. After a moment of debate she pulled on a one piece she picked out. It was black with a red V that stated with the straps and ended between her legs. She checked her appearance in the mirror and decided she could live with this one if the others flopped. She opened the door and saw Inuyasha’s head snap to her loo looked ever so slightly disappointed.

"Well, what do you think?" He looked her up and down a couple of times before answering.

"They say less is more." She gave him a halfhearted glare.

"I need something I can wear to the beach, Inuyasha. I would think you of all people would want me as covered as possible." His eyes narrowed in response.

"Anyone who looks had better enjoy it because it will be the last thing they ever see." He growled. Kagome rolled her eyes.

"Fine, fine, anything you say oh mighty one." She closed the door again. Kagome shuffled through the suits again. She came to one he had picked. It was made a swirling blue and green and shimmered with a slivery sheen. It was a bikini like all the ones he had picked. The top was made of two wide strips that tied behind her neck and a thin string that ran under her breasts and tied in the back. The bottom was a small bit of fabriat cat covered the essentials and tied on the sides high on her hips. With a small smile she stripped off the first suit and donned the new one.

When she opened the door again the look on Inuyasha’s face was very different from the one before. His ears stood straight up before flicking back, then forward again in excitement. His golden eyes flashed as his tongue darted out to wet his lips. A small smile curled the edge of her lips as she watched him.

"Better?"

"Much. Turn around." He made a motion with his hand as he spoke. She turned her back on him and looked over her shoulder. His eyes had glued themselves to the curve of her hips. She watched as he reached out to undoubtedly pull her close, then promptly stepped back into the dressing room and shut the door. "Hey! What the…"

"I’ll put this one in the maybe pile then." A smile crossed her face as he started to swear under his breath. With renewed joy, Kagome picked out another suit. This one was a red one piece with the sides of the stomach cut out so that it resembled a very fat letter I. Other wise it was unadorned. She slipped into it and once again opened the door.

Inuyasha was glaring at her but it quickly faded with the site of the new swimsuit. He cocked his head to one side thoughtfully.

"I like the other one better."
