Disclaimer: I do not own InuYasha, nor make money from this story. |
Disclaimer: I don’t know Rumiko Takahashi, so I can’t say I own any of this. Now the warning: YAOI. That’s right, man lovin’ man. If you don’t like that, you don’t have to read another word. If you read this and don’t like my story, please be polite when you tell me. And also, tell me why. Or if you do like it, review and write whatever you want, LOL.
Notes: Not my usual pairing. I decided to go with the other brother this time. It was inspired by all the Inu/Miro doujinshi I’ve been reading lately, since there is next to no Mir/Sess unless it involves InuYasha, too. This pairing is starting to grow on me, although this will probably be the only fic I write with it.
Genre: Yaoi, PWP, Hurt/Comfort

Feedback: I love reviews (and muses live on them, too)! Comments, gushing, one liners and constructive criticism welcome. But please keep your flames to warm yourself.
The Night They Were Alone
The trail for Naraku was cold. Frustration was building in the group and tension rose with it. Kagome and InuYasha fought, as they were wont to do and Kagome left for her own time. InuYasha spent the next day moping and growling in a tree. Sango had disappeared somewhere, saying something about Kohaku and Shippo had left with Kagome. Miroku was left alone with the surly hanyo and was not pleased one bit. For one thing, InuYasha in this mood was terrible company. For another, his right hand was aching horribly.
Miroku kept testing it, flexing it and nearly uncovering it to look, but stopping at the last second. He had suffered nightmares about his kazaana since the day he witnessed his father being sucked into his own. It had been a horrible sight and the disturbing dreams wouldn’t leave him alone. But they were always sudden and violent, nothing like this growing ache. He tried to ignore it, but he was beginning to get desperate. Fear had a grip on him that he couldn’t escape and he knew he had to get away soon.
But at the same time, he didn’t want to be alone. He had always hated it. That was why he asked every woman he met to bear his child: out of a desperate urge not to be alone. Yet, here he was, with one of his closest friends and he might as well have been the only person there. He knew InuYasha was upset about Kagome, but he quietly wished the hanyo would notice that he was in pain. Finally, unable to bear the silence anymore, Miroku stood to leave. If he was going to be lonely, he may as well be alone.
“Hey, where are you going?” InuYasha asked, peering down at him from the tree. Miroku looked away, feeling depressed and forlorn. He sighed, but didn’t know what to say. “What’s wrong?” InuYasha asked.
“What do you care?” Miroku snapped. “Go back to your brooding, I will leave you to it.” Miroku stormed off, wondering if those would be the last words he spoke to InuYasha. He was gripped by a desperation that they shouldn’t be, but before he could say something friendlier, InuYasha landed in front of him. Miroku took a step back, startled, lifting his hand defensively. His right hand.
InuYasha’s eyes traveled down to it and narrowed, his ears flattening to his head. He looked back up at Miroku’s eyes, worry etched into his features. Miroku looked away, unable to bear it. He was out of jokes, out of dreams and out of time. He knew he had to get away. He had to go somewhere safe where he couldn’t hurt anyone as his curse consumed him. He clenched his hand into a fist, gritting his teeth against the pain. But this wasn’t in his hand; it was in his heart. The only physical contact Miroku ever had was when he was playing the lecher. He craved it desperately, to know the touch of another living being. He had failed in everything with his life. He had not destroyed Naraku and broken the curse. He had not produced an heir in time. It was all going to happen soon, he could feel it. And in the end, he was alone.
“I care,” InuYasha said, causing Miroku to look up. “I care because I’m your friend.”
“I have to go,” Miroku said, looking away quickly so InuYasha wouldn’t see the raw pain in his eyes. Miroku stepped past him, but InuYasha reached out and grabbed his shoulder, stopping him. Miroku looked down at the hand with its almost delicate claws. So beautiful, so lethal. Miroku stood there for a moment, savoring the feel of a living heat against his own, then spun on the hanyo.
“You care?” Miroku hissed. InuYasha stepped back, releasing Miroku and blinking in surprise. When Miroku didn’t attack him, as his posture suggested he might, InuYasha stepped back and put his face right next to the monk’s.
“Yeah, I do. Got a problem with that?” InuYasha asked defensively. The cloth of his kimono brushed Miroku’s hand and the monk had a lecherous thought.
“Really?” he said, his eyes narrowing. He decided to prove the hanyo wrong and brought his hand down against the cloth covering InuYasha’s posterior. InuYasha’s eyes widened and he jumped back, yelling.
“What did you do that for?” InuYasha yelled.
“Do you know why I’m upset?” Miroku retorted. “You said you care, but do you really?”
“Yes, I care! I figured you were upset because your kazaana is growing,” InuYasha replied hotly.
“There is that. But what bothers me most is this solitude.” Miroku sighed and looked away. “I boast of conquests I have never known. My flesh has never felt the heat of another body. I have never been looked at the way Kagome looks at you. I have never been held for comfort,” Miroku said, gripping his staff so hard he felt as though it should break in two. “I go to die as alone as I have lived.” Miroku looked at the ground. He was surprised when the red of InuYasha’s kimono obscured his view. Even more surprised when one clawed finger hooked under his chin.
“I’m not a woman,” InuYasha stated quietly. Miroku was confused. Of course InuYasha wasn’t a woman! Who had said he was? Miroku met InuYasha’s eyes and gasped. There was no anger, no pain there. His eyes were soft and gentle, words he never would have ascribed to the half-breed. InuYasha stepped forward, pulling Miroku to his chest and wrapping his arms around him. Miroku dropped his staff in surprise and didn’t react until he heard it jingle when it hit the ground. Then he closed his arms around InuYasha, embracing him tightly and reveling in the warmth of the other man. “But I am your friend. And I don’t want you to be in pain,” InuYasha whispered. Miroku closed his eyes and they stood there, holding each other in the waning sunlight.
“You have been the best friend I have ever had,” Miroku confessed. InuYasha said nothing, but reached his hand up to push Miroku slightly back, so they were face to face. Miroku peered into the gold eyes in wonder, then his breath caught when they closed and silken lips met his own. Miroku closed his eyes and gave himself to the kiss, shivering when a hot, soft tongue gently entered his mouth. Miroku tasted InuYasha’s tongue with his own, sliding into the hanyo’s mouth to brush against his fangs lightly.
InuYasha increased the pressure and Miroku lifted his hands to cup the other man’s face. InuYasha mirrored the movement and they held each other like that for what seemed forever. InuYasha didn’t pull back to break the kiss, though, he slid to the side, rubbing his cheek against Miroku’s. Miroku pressed back, lightly, with his own cheek, then gasped when InuYasha’s mouth found his ear. His body jerked involuntarily as the hanyo ran his tongue along the curve of his ear, then followed it by one fang, tracing the shell sensually.
Miroku raised his hands to InuYasha’s ears, just using his fingertip to follow the shape of the soft points. He stroked them, amazed at their velvet texture and wondered if they felt the same to InuYasha as his own did to him. He pressed down on the hanyo’s head and InuYasha ducked under his hand. Miroku took the ear between his lips and nibbled lightly. InuYasha let out a gasp and pulled back, his eyes wide. Miroku worried that he had done something wrong for a second, but InuYasha slammed into him with another kiss. This one was as aggressive as the first had been gentle and Miroku actually moaned in pleasure.
InuYasha stepped back for a moment, breathing heavily and then opened his kimono. Miroku’s eyes widened in surprise. He had no idea how far the hanyo planned to take this. Miroku wouldn’t have any second thoughts about taking him as a lover now. It had seemed strange for only the first moment, and then everything had started to feel very natural. Miroku untied his robes at the shoulder and let them slide off to the ground. InuYasha tossed his kimono shirts on top. They stood there in only their pants and stared at each other quietly. It was Miroku who took the step forward that placed their bodied back together.
The moment their skin touched, all Miroku’s tension left him, except for that building between his legs. He took pleasure in the feeling of running his hands over InuYasha’s back and shuddered in bliss when InuYasha imitated him. He slid his hands down, then let them go into InuYasha’s pants and grasped his butt. InuYasha made a sound that Miroku took for desire and he took a firmer hold. InuYasha wiggled his arm between them and Miroku gasped when the hanyo’s hand slid down his own pants and gripped him intimately. The monk stepped back a little and grabbed InuYasha’s shoulders, holding on as the boy gripped tightly and moved his hand up and down the length of Miroku.
“InuYasha,” Miroku whispered. InuYasha’s eyes were glazed over and he looked up at his name. “I want you,” Miroku whispered. InuYasha’s eyes closed and his head tilted back slightly. His hand moved more quickly and Miroku moaned. Miroku kissed the exposed throat, licking and sucking his way to the bend of InuYasha’s shoulder. Once there, he spun and pushed InuYasha back onto his robes. InuYasha looked startled, but the clarity left his eyes when Miroku slid his hakama off. Miroku removed his own remaining clothing and knelt between InuYasha’s legs. He put his hands on the hanyo’s hips and his mouth over the center of his desire. InuYasha cried out as Miroku pushed down as far as he could, then pulled back up, careful not to gag himself and licking the underside of him all the way back up.
He pressed into the pulsing part with his tongue, gasping the base with his hand and stroking towards his mouth. InuYasha’s claws convulsed into the material on either side of his hips and Miroku increased the pressure he was using. He sped up, his hand and his mouth moving to retreat from and meet each other, over and over. He looked up to see the muscles in InuYasha’s abdomen trembling almost as badly as the hand the hanyo had hovering the air over the clothing. Miroku could tell he was trying not to destroy their garments. The uncontrolled muscle movements combined with the hanyo’s panting increased the throbbing between Miroku’s legs until it was nearly unbearable. He only paused to brush his bangs out of his face and look at the expression on InuYasha’s face. His eyes were closed and his ears back, his head tossing in ecstasy. Miroku savored the moment and the sight before returning his mouth to join his hand.
InuYasha’s breathing was getting heavier and the sounds he made more desperate, so Miroku stopped and sat up on his knees. InuYasha looked at him wildly, his eyes half-lidded and his hand grasping Miroku’s in desperation.
“I wish to enter you,” Miroku said. InuYasha’s eyes widened and he looked down at Miroku.
“Won’t that hurt?” he asked, his breathing ragged. Miroku glanced up at the moon above them and thought about it.
“I don’t know,” Miroku answered honestly. “But it is what I wish.” InuYasha sat up, then leaned bowed and took Miroku into his mouth. Miroku gasped at the sudden contact and fell back, catching himself with his hands so he was reclining. InuYasha worked at him in almost a mirror of what he had just finished doing, but only for a few moments before he pulled back, leaving a wet trail behind.
“Seems like it might work better that way,” InuYasha said. Miroku nodded shakily and smiled as InuYasha rolled onto his stomach. He ran his hands over the hanyo’s legs, up over his butt and then slid back to the inside of his thighs. He lifted InuYasha’s butt in the air and touched the place he planned to enter. InuYasha tensed and Miroku reached around his body to take him in hand. InuYasha relaxed again as Miroku stroked him and the monk slid his finger into the tight hole. It clenched around him and he pressed at it, trying to make room for himself. All the while, he continued his ministrations to InuYasha’s front.
Finally he felt he had made enough space not to hurt the hanyo with his entry and he repositioned himself, sliding the weeping part of him against InuYasha’s entrance. He reached around InuYasha’s front carefully as he pushed in and grasped the hanyo simultaneously. He moved InuYasha’s leg until he could both move himself and pleasure the hanyo at the same time, then he gave himself to bliss. He pumped and stroked at the same time, encouraged and turned on by InuYasha’s cries. InuYasha was slightly on his side and Miroku could see his profile clearly. He watched the mix of emotions on the young face, feeling himself build to a climax as he moved in and out of InuYasha. He felt the part of the hanyo he held in his hand shudder and release hot liquid as InuYasha let out a long, drawn out moan and he came. He lost track of everything for a moment as his orgasm took him, his vision blurring until he shut his eyes and his throat pleasantly sore from his own cries.
Then it was over and they fell to the ground, panting and slick with sweat and other bodily fluids. InuYasha was lying on his back and Miroku rolled onto the hanyo’s chest to rest. His hand didn’t ache anymore and the terrified desperation had left him. He realized, as he lay there, he no longer feeling like dying, that it must have just been a random growing pain.
“Thank you,” he whispered to InuYasha. The hanyo made a soft noise of acknowledgement, but said nothing. They were content to lie there silently, not having to worry about anything for a long time. Clouds passed over the stars and moons and Miroku watched the sky fade from black to deepest blue. He was almost asleep when InuYasha spoke next.
“I’ve wanted to do that with you for a while,” he admitted. Miroku glanced up to InuYasha’s face, lifting his own head so it was possible. InuYasha pushed his head back down against his chest. “You’re so uncomplicated. You don’t care if I chase after Kikyo or Kagome.” Miroku nodded against his chest.
“And you don’t mind if I pursue Sango.”
“This is perfect, you know,” InuYasha said quietly. “I haven’t felt this peaceful in forever.”
“Nor have I,” Miroku concurred.
“So then, it’s agreed. Whenever we’re alone,” InuYasha said. “We’ll get rid of some tension.”
“It should make both of us easier to live with,” Miroku said, realizing just how nice this arrangement could be.
“Right.” They were quiet for a while and Miroku started to drift off again. “I told you I care,” InuYasha growled.
“I believe you,” Miroku said. “Apparently, I was a fool not to.” Miroku grinned when InuYasha nodded as though the monk had finally come to his senses. “Thank you for being my friend.”
“And thank you for being mine,” InuYasha answered, and then yawned. “Now can we get some sleep? We’ve been up most the night.” Miroku smiled and nodded, feeling extremely content. He hugged his friend close and closed his eyes.
