Chapter one
*Disclaimer: Once again I don't own Inuyasha nor do I own Miroku, Sango or Shippo, or any of the characters that I am using in this fanfic. Nor would I want to. They're all too much trouble! Fight, bicker, scratch, hiss...etc, etc.*

Back at Lady Kaede’s village:
"But why Miroku?"
"Because it's dangerous, and you should stay and wait here for kagome’s return."
"But.…but I don't want to stay and wait with Inuyasha! When kagome goes home he gets so moody. And he starts to pound my head in his frustration." Shippo said, whining to the monk, begging to go with him and the demon slayer Sango to the Demon Slayers village with them.
"Shippo, he always pounds your head for something or another." Miroku sighed rolling his eyes skyward.
"And it'll be worse without kagome here to make him sit!" Shippo whimpered clutching frantically on Miroku's robe.
Sigh I forget how young and vulnerable shippo is. Miroku thought silently to himself.
"Then stay with Lady Kaede, she'll love your company. And inuyasha won't harm you when you’re with her." Miroku said calmly patting Shippo on the head with his good hand.
Shippo's grip lessoned as he thought about miroku's suggestion.
"Annd she might give you treats if you draw her another story. She seems to take a liking to them." Miroku added brightly.
This made Shippo's face light up.
"Oh yeah! And I just finished one yesterday! Well then get a move on Miroku!" Shippo said excitedly. Instead of clinging onto Miroku's robe, shippo was steadily pushing miroku away from Lady Kaede's Hut.
Laughing at the little fox demon's change of heart Miroku replied "Ok, ok! Hold on shippo I have to go get Sango and Kirara first."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Wonder why shippo decided to stay at the village? I hope he isn't going to wait for kagome. It's going to be sometime before she returns, she told me that she had to get some things done before she could come back." Sango replied, while cradling Kirara in the crock of her arm, while the cat was deep in slumber.
The lil demon had an awkward fever and Sango wanted to go home and get some herbs that would help her companion.
"He wanted to entertain Lady Kaede and the village with the new stories he drew up." Miroku said in a matter-as-factly tone. And I wanted this voyage to include us alone. He thought lecherously to himself, and wondering if Sango was wearing any of those undergarments kagome had brought back from her era sometime ago. Kagome called them 'panties'. And Miroku had the pleasure of feeling how soft they were from his usual ventures of stroking Sango's supple derriere. But he personally liked it better without the undergarment hugging her bottom.
"Well at least he'll have a good time." Sango said absently stroking kirara's thick coat of hair.
"Uh…Sango how long will this voyage to your village take?" Miroku asked, he never thought about how long it would take them by foot until now. Without kirara to fly them there it'll probably take awhile.
"From here...about 2 days." she said happily. For Sango felt a sense of warmth at the thought of returning home. Even though it was destroyed and bodies of the people were embedded in the grounds all over the village. It was still home to her, and it would help Kirara's recovery.
"Well, why didn't you leave her with Kaede" Miroku asked.
"Because she doesn't feel comfortable there with all the village people hustling about. The fevers got her mind in a tizzy" Sango replied.
"But is kirara in shape enough to travel such a length?" Miroku pondered.
"We'll get there on the second day Monk, anyhow I know of a short-cut. Kirara will be fine." she said proudly. I hope! she thought silently to kirara more than to herself.
Miroku begged to differ, he didn't like the idea of leaving the path and wondering off to some short-cut where they had to go through thick forests. But if sango knew a way that was faster and more efficient then he'll follow to protect her. Starting the journey after breakfast was a good idea, the afternoon sun didn't have it usual heat anymore, the seasons were changing.
They walked and walked until the late afternoon when Sango decided it was time to stop. Miroku's stomach growled in protest. Trying to keep it to himself Miroku started to hum a tune.
"I'm going to set up camp here. Miroku can you find something worth eating while I do that and attend to kirara?" Sango said making it sound like an order instead of a question.
"No! Wait! I'll do it, I don't want you to wonder off and get lost." she stated. "You look for fire wood!"
Miroku couldn't even get a word out before Sango scampered off.
“I am not incompetent!” He shouted in the direction where she ran off.
"What a bossy woman!" he muttered. But that's what turns you on the most about her! His subconscious mind added.
Sighing in agreement with himself Miroku started to set up camp.
Finding fire wood and striking stones to start the fire took time. I wish we had some of kagome's flame sticks that burst into flames! ‘Matches’ is what she called them. he thought. But eventually he got the fire going. With that done Miroku went to look for some water, for they had passed a stream right along just a few yards away from where the camp is. Filling up a leather satchel with water, and bringing it back to camp he checked on kirara and put a fresh wet cloth on her forehead. She never moved a muscle. Boy she must really be out of it. he thought.
Taking note of the position of the sun, miroku noticed Sango never returned from hunting.
"Humph, we could've had fish, there's a stream right here!" he grumbled. "What if she came across a youkai?!"
This made miroku jump to his feet and run to the direction he seen Sango run off to earlier.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sango had not run into any monsters at all, in fact she ran into a little fox demon. She was hunting for food when it happened, hunting in this area was time consuming, sango was guessing mostly everything must have moved along before the fall season came. It was nearly an hour passed before sango spotted him running in the fields, from her perch in a tree.
He looked just like Shippo, but he didn't have a bow on his head, his hair was wild, sticking in all parts of his head.
Sango saw him running for dear life from hogs. Overly dangerous and large hogs, that walked on two legs but disgusting porkers none the less. There are three of them chasing after one lil fox demon, how cruel he won't even be enough for one of them!' she thought.
As she ran closer to their chase she noticed one fell on his face. "What a clumsy pig." she muttered.
Not even seeing them worth unleashing her oversized boomerang. Sango found some medium sized rocks that she carried in a pouch at her side, she found her sling, aimed and took a clear shot at the second hog. The rock hit his leg and she heard him snort in rage and fall on his face.
Then she quickly shot a small rock, at the 3rd hog that was behind the fox demon, and the rock went straight through it's head, and it fell forward without moving.
Sensing the chase was over the lil fox stopped turned back to see what had happened. Sango had already reached him and swiped him up in her arms. For the 1st clumsy pig was running towards them.
"Hey! Give that back you bitch! He's mine!" he snarled through his tusks, with drool dripping from his snout.
"Ugh get away you fifthly pig! Go find food elsewhere!" she snapped unshielding her sword, ready to strike. Feeling the little fox tremble in her arms Sango tried to soothe him. "Don't worry little one, they won't take you from me. I promise" she said softly.
It stopped trembling for the moment, before the hog sprung it's attack on her.
Unshielding it's axe the hog demon charged after Sango. "That little piece of fluff is my dinner! Bones and all!" he snarled, taking two swipes at Sango, which were so slow the demon slayer sliced him down to size within seconds.
Unfortunately the fight wasn't over, having her attention on one hog, sango didn’t remember about the other one, as he came up behind her and got a good slice of her sword arm, with his claws. Sango screamed in pain, but she still held tight to the little fox.
And delivered a hard kick to the hogs gut, and round-house kick to his head.
Which was effective but wasn't enough to kill the bastard, and he had already clawed at the flesh and muscle from Sango's arm, which made it useless.
"Heh I can smell your blood, and I’ll have your flesh for my dinner tonight. The little fox can be desert!" he laughed into his snout, as he inched toward her, causing drool to shoot from his mouth. Which almost sickened Sango, more than the pain the he caused her right arm.
"I don't think that's likely!" was all Sango heard before she saw the pig get diced by Miroku's staff.
Letting go of the breath she was holding, Sango looked down at her tattered arm and then at the fox who had fainted during the last rumble.
"Sango! Are you ok?! Damn! Look at your arm!" Miroku fussed. "Who's that?"
"I don't know. I was perched up high in a tree hunting, when I saw him race towards my direction with those, things after him." She wheezed.
The pain and blood loss was making her world spin. "Miro--"
Catching her fainting body miroku lifted sango into her arms and raced them all back to the camp site
Why is the only time I get to touch you like this is when your all bloody and bruised?! he thought angrily to himself while he ran as fast as he could to safety.
