AUTHOR’S NOTE: This is just something I’m playing
around with really. The plot came to me while I was busy ‘couch potato-ing’ and
I decided why not write it up? I apologize for any grammar errors ahead of time
as I still have no proof reader. Please leave a review if you like it and I
might eventually get around to
updating it, takes me forever but I’ll probably get around to it as long as
life stays calm awhile.

Loved By One, Betrayed by Another

“You’re fucking useless Inuyasha!
I don’t even know why I bother with your sorry ass!” Kikyo screamed as she
tossed a bunch of dirty dishes into the sink with a clatter loud enough to have
Inuyasha wincing.

Despite the wince that obviously wasn’t just due to the noise but hurt as well,
he still, as always, spoke his mind and managed to dish it out almost as well
as he got it. “Then why do you?! I’m sure you’d be just fine without my ‘Sorry
Ass’ weighing you down right? So why the fuck are you still standing here
wasting your precious time on such a worthless piece of shit?!”

“You tell me, the door is right there Inuyasha! Why haven’t you walked through
it yet?”

“Because you stupid wench, I’m the only fucker dumb enough to sit around here
and put up with all your shit! All you ever do is beat me down. Every time you
see the chance to take a shot you take it. Even when I’m already down and
bleeding, you’re busy pouring salt into all the wounds!”

“That’s such bullshit! I do everything for you, I’m everything a girlfriend
should be and yet somehow I winded up wasting six years of my life on a piece
of shit nobody like you!” She was screaming as she rammed her finger into his
chest for emphasis.

A look of pain flashed in his
eyes and a small smirk crossed over her lips as she silently congratulated
herself. She’d struck a nerve. Good, she hoped it had hurt.

Inuyasha’s eyes narrowed
slightly as he took a deep breath and looked her straight in the eyes. “That’s
all it was to you wasn’t it? Just a waste of time? Well, I wasn’t the one
running around spreading my legs for every Asshole who made an offer. I
actually cared about you once. Once, but I don’t, can’t anymore-”

“Well good, then get the fuck out of my house! I don’t want-”

“Shut the fuck up and hear me out would you! All you ever do is yap, for once
in your life just shut your mouth and listen to someone else talk.”

Her face was red with fury and insult and her hands were shaking. Looking at
her he was sure she was poised and ready to lunge over and tear him to pieces
if she felt his next words deserved it. Well fuck her. He’d say what he needed
to say and she’d listen. By God she was going to listen or he’d make her. He
needed say it and he needed her to hear it.

Mentally preparing himself for what he was sure was going to be hell, he opened
his mouth to proceed but she cut him off before he could start.

She practically spewed. “Just
who the hell do you think you are? I-”

Inuyasha sighed, and ran a hand through his hair before cutting her off again.

“Look! I’m really not even sure if you were always this cold or if it was me
who made you that way, but either way I just can’t do it anymore. This
relationship has been dead for years now, and the only reason I’m still here is
because I wanted to try and make things work. I wanted to try and fix things. I
felt like it was me who made you this bitter and I felt guilty about it. But I
realize now that’s not my job. I don’t have to try and fix you. The only person
I should be working on is myself. And I can’t do that if I stay with you. You
tire me out Kikyo, your shit honestly exhausts me and I can’t take it anymore…
All we ever do anymore is fight, the only time we get along is when I’m handing
you money to spend. There’s nothing left between us… I’m leaving you Kikyo, and
I’m not coming back…”

The plate that shot through
the air only missed him by an inch. She was absolutely fuming. “This is about
that bitch Kagome isn’t it? You’re leaving me so that you can run off with that
tramp?!”

The pain that was evident in
his eyes a moment earlier vanished and was replaced by barely controlled fury.
“You leave her out of this. She has nothing to do with any of it. This is about
you and me. There’s just nothing left here and you need to accept that!”

“Bullshit! You just want in
her pants and you want to be justified in doing so. Do you think leaving me
will make it easier on your conscience? To hell with that! Fuck her if you
really think you need to, but don’t you dare think of leaving me. I don’t
deserve that, not after all you’ve put me through!”

Inuyasha gave a weak laugh
and shook his head. “You never cease to amaze me Kikyo. I’m standing here
telling you I’m leaving because there’s no more love, because I can’t deal with
the fact that you see me as nothing more than a piece of shit with a dick and
access to a bank account. I tell you all this and you try and make it about you
and how mistreated you are. You stand here and tell me about how badly I treat
you but you continue to take without ever giving anything back. That’s not how
a relationship is supposed to operate. Both people have to give a shit to make
things work. Apparently I was the only one who did… ”

As he turned away from her
she stared screaming about how everything was his fault, about how he was the
bastard who ruined her life, how everything they’d had meant nothing.

But her screams fell upon deaf ears. As she screamed, he walked out; leaving
everything he’d built in the last six years. He stepped out into the rain and
headed for a home he hadn’t slept in for years.
And as he walked he sank
without resistance into that dark, blank place that always came after one of
their fights.
