Chapter One

With the Shikon No Tama nearly complete and Inuyasha’s group closing in on Naraku, the companions began to feel the exhaustion from being pushed by their hanyou leader. It has been nearly five years since the start of their quest, each changing in age. Kagome being nearly twenty now, her miko powers greatly improving. She gave a quiet yawn and glanced back at her tired friends.

“Um...Inuyasha. Let’s stop and rest for a bit. We are tired and hungry,” Kagome commented. She watched Inuyasha’s ears twitch at the sound of her voice before snorting with the usual ‘feh.’

“Yeah, whatever,” he grumbled moving off the road they had been walking on for hours. With a happy sigh or relief from his companions they gratefully set up camp. Setting her pack off to the side, Kagome instantly began to set up for the meal.

“Anymore ramen?” Inuyasha asked peeking into her backpack.

“There would be if you had allowed me to go home,” Kagome grumbled annoyed. Inuyasha’s ears instantly perked up and he glared at Kagome.

“She is speaking the truth Inuyasha,” Miroku said.

“Shut up. Kagome you need to go home.” Inuyasha ordered.

“Seriously? Just because I don’t have ramen?” Kagome yelled turned to face him. She watched as his ears flattened to his skull and his nose twitched. The fire cracking in the background, Shippo sighed moving to sit on Sango’s lap.

“No. You just need to go home!” Inuyasha yelled.

“Fine!” Kagome slammed down the bowls and ingredients she had been preparing to reach for her backpack. Miroku’s brow’s furrowed as he watched Inuyasha glare at Kagome’s back turn from one of annoyance to one of pain as she bent over. Miroku grinned when he noticed Inuyasha’s eyes never left the contours of Kagome’s body.

“Inuyasha may I speak with you before we break camp and head back?” Miroku asked.

“No. We are leaving now. Kagome needs to go home for a week and study,” Inuyasha said turning his back to the group, jumping into the near by tree.

“Inuyasha...” Kagome whispered knowing the moment the words study left his mouth something else was going on. It probably involved Kikyou and it broke her heart. “Sit.” She closed her eyes, listening as Inuyasha’s face implanted into the ground.

“I am on summer break. I have no studying.” she lied not wanting to be pushed toward the well just so he could see Kikyou. She could hear the muffled yells of the hanyou behind her as he fought to pull himself out of the dirt.

“Kagome?” Sango questioned watching her friend grab her bath supplies. Out of habit Shippo, who was now the size of a small teenager, and Sango rose in time with Kagome to head to the nearest hot spring.

“Actually can I go on my own guys? Just need some time to mediate. Keep an eye on Inuyasha and Miroku?” Kagome asked with a fake happy smile.

“Kagome you are not allowed-” Inuyasha stopped upon coming face to face with a very much furious woman.

“Do not tell me what I can do Inuyasha!” she yelled turning and leaving the camp sight with a loud stomp. Inuyasha glared before jumping back into his tree.

“Stupid wench. Get herself killed,” he grumbled.

“Inuyasha?” Miroku questioned walking to the tree.

“What monk?” Inuyasha growled in annoyance.

“Are you feeling a bit attracted to Kagome? I mean she has grown up quite a bit,” Miroku laughed.

“Shut up! As if I’d be attracted to Kagome,” Inuyasha growled louder.

-------Kagome-----

Kagome walked with a large amount of anger in her step toward the spring, yelling about how stupid Inuyasha was, when she felt a presence. A strong presence coming from close by. She instantly wondered why Inuyasha had not picked up a scent. She stopped looking around with caution, dropping her stuff she reached for her bow and arrows which we no longer on her back but back at camp.

In a whirl wind of energy Kouga appeared before Kagome with a triumphant smile, taking her hands in his. Kagome instantly dropped her head in relief when she saw the young wolf prince.

“How is my woman?” Kouga asked pushing himself up close to Kagome. A blush spread over her cheeks as she pushed away from Kouga, grabbing her things.

“Hey Kouga,” She said happily. “Are there any demons besides you in the forest?” Kouga gave a shake of his head before pressing himself closer to Kagome.

“Just me and you,” he whispered in her ear sending shivers down her spine.

“Um Kouga?” she asked, a rumble in the chest pressed against her back was her only response. Kouga’s arms slipped around her waist, causing the young girl to instantly jump out of his reach.

“Are you ok?” her eyes became worried, Kouga had never been so pushy with her before. Let alone touched her so oddly. Kouga gave her a confused look.

“Am I not what you are looking for Kagome?” Kouga asked almost hurt.

“What are you talking about? I was heading to the hot springs to bathe when you came rushing at me and might I add scaring the hell out of me!” Kagome laughed.

“Kagome...” Kouga said his voice sinking to a husky tone as he seductively made his way back into arm’s reach.

-------In the forest-----

Eyes watched the scene unfold in the darkness of the surrounding forest. A small barrier protecting his scent from reaching the noses of the youkai and hanyou close by. The girl seemed to have no reasonable thought about the sudden change in all the males around her. Taking a deep breath he pulled in her intoxicating scent that had brought him from miles. She had become so powerful, he would claim her before another would. He watched as the girl continued to deny the wolf prince what he was clearly asking, as she made her way to the Hot Springs, the Prince close in tow.

Alright thats the first chapter the next will be a lot more interesting I hope it’s an ok start ^_^.
