Kagome smiled as she walked down the steps of the well. “Today is the day when I learn what my fate is. The jewel will be gone. I do so hope I can stay in the past with Inuyasha.”

When she reached the bottom of the stairs she sighed as she sat on the well for what could possibly be her last time. She looked down into the dark depths and sighed.

“I already told you that I am okay with it no matter what happens Kagome. I just want you to be happy even if that is not here in our time where I can see you daily.”

Turning she smiled to see her mother coming down the stairs. “I know. I just don’t know if I am going to get what I want when the deed is done. Inuyasha wants to be human. Even Sesshomaru said that if his father’s blood is taken out of him that he wouldn’t have any reason to try to kill Inuyasha all the time. I want to be with him mom but I don’t know if I will or not.”

“I am sure that everything will work out just fine Kagome.” Then she hugged her daughter and kissed her forehead. “But you are never going to find out if you don’t go.”

“I love you mom.”

“I love you Kagome.”

Kagome hugged her mom one last time then slid off the side of the well, that warm blue light engulfing her again. Landing on the other side she looked up into a smiling Inuyasha’s face. “You ready?”

“More than ready.”

Animals scatter as another dozen or so trees are taken out with one swipe of the taiyoukai’s claws. His eyes were seeing blood. ‘Why!? Why a miko of all things!?’

‘Mate her! Claim her!’

‘I will fight it! I will not mate with a human and have hanyoukai pups! I am not as weak as my father!’

‘NOW!’

Sesshomaru stopped as his eyes went wide. Bleeding a bright crimson. He could feel his control slipping. Finally he sighed. “Fine. Just let me do it.”

‘One chance.’

Turning he glared as he walked in the direction of the village where his filthy brother lived with the miko his inner demon desired. “Damnit.”

Sitting with Kagome a now human Inuyasha wore a bright smile. By turning him human the jewel ceased to exist anymore. And as fate would have it, Kagome was sealed out of the well to remain forever in his time.

“What are you smiling about?”

“That I got to keep you.”

Kagome turned and smiled up at him as he gently kissed her lips. “I got what I wanted too.”

“I see my filthy brother kept wish a turned human. Forever severing all ties he has with me and being the weak fool he always will be.”

Inuyasha was on his feet with Kagome behind him. “You told us months ago that you would stay away once I turned human. So what the hell are you doing here.”

“Because of him.”

“Him?”

Stopping about fifty feet from Inuyasha and the woman he came for Sesshomaru smiled. “You never were full demon so you don’t understand. ‘Him’ is me. The truly demonic part of me that has a mind and will of his own.”

“What?”

Sango and Miroku came to a sliding stance next to Inuyasha as they glared at Sesshomaru. “Who Sesshomaru? I know exactly what you are talking about.”

“The miko.”

Kagome blinked. “What about me?”

Sango glared as she let her kimono fall to the ground to reveal her slaying armor. “Why her?”

“He said so.”

Kagome was shaking now. Sango was upset. Very upset. “Sango!”

“He is coming to claim you as his mate Kagome. Judging from the way he is talking, it isn’t going to matter if you want too or not.”

Inuyasha glared as he reached behind him and held onto Kagome tighter. “Over my dead body! She is mine you bastard!”

“Not for long. Filthy human.” Then with speed even Inuyasha had never seen Sesshomaru charged them, grabbing Kagome around her waist and then going back to where he stood before. In his other hand he held Inuyasha’s head.

Kagome looked around for a moment then she registered who had her. Her eyes darted to find Inuyasha, but found his lifeless body instead. Her eyes filling and overlowing with tears she screamed as she fell limp in his arms from horror.

Sango leapt into the air and let loose her hiraikotsu! “You bastard!”

His eyes going instant crimson Inuyasha smiled as he dropped Inuyasha’s head and sidestepped the weapon. Using his poison wip before the monk could react sliced her in half. Then the cat from behind him, taking her head off before he turned to walk away with Kagome in his arms.

Miroku glared. “Stop right there you bastard! I will suck you into a void for what you have done! Put her down!” His angry and hurt tears streaming down his face as in his minds eye he saw the look of horror on Kagome’s face when she saw Inuyasha’s body. Or Sango’s face as she was sliced in half. “I said let her go now you son of a bitch!”

With the speed he used before he was there holding the monks hand and turning it to face his own face. He then dropped Kagome to the ground at his feet and ripped the cloth off and watched as the monk screamed and his head was starting to suck into his own hand. Letting him go he lifted the girl and threw her over his shoulder and then vanished into the night.

‘Mine!’

“When she wakes up.”

‘NOW!’

“I will. When she wakes up.”

‘Even if she refuses?’

“Hai. You leave me no choice.”
