Chapter 1
Kagome climbed of the side of the well a night earlier then she told Inuyasha. To Inuyasha a day early is the proper day to return yet if she returns the day she originally said then it would be a day late. She honestly did not want to hear him complain about how she always late and always wanted to go home. She felt she had a very good reason for going home. Winter was fast approaching and she needed to get some warm winter clothes. She placed her backpack down on the ground leaning it against the well while she sat on the lip. A light chill was carried in the night air causing small goose bumps to rise on her arms making her shiver. In the darkness that surrounded her it was hard to see the colors of the changing leaves. With a small sigh she turned her eyes towards the sky. Even after six long years seeing the stars still was beautiful. Millions of stars twinkled against the midnight blue painted sky. A crescent moon tired hard to block out the light of the stars but it was no use. The moon was in its waning faze meaning it would be a new moon within the next few days. The crescent moon reminded her of the one Sesshoumaru had on his forehead. A slight smile crossed her lips as she sat there making out different constellations she seen. Suddenly the smile she wore faded when one of Kikyo’s soul stealers ripped across the sky carrying a soul. Again she sighed as she rose from the lip of well knowing if there were soul stealer Kikyo was somewhere nearby and Inuyasha was probable with her. She hated it when he ran to see Kikyo every time she went home. Since their last battle with Naraku Inuyasha was running off even more to see Kikyo making Kagome hurt more and more. She really hated the fact that loved Inuyasha but there was nothing she could do about who her heart had chosen. As she stood there in the darkness a gentle breeze came sweeping across her kissing her skin. As it passed by it picked her jet black hair blowing it to the right. As the wind settled her hair fell back in place. She had gown and matured more than she ever thought she would. Her hair flowed down her back past her butt the inner side of her knees as her bangs was now breast length framing her light bronze skinned face. Her jet black hair made her chocolate brown eyes stand out and shine with wisdom. She straightened the front of her long red winter dress that was covered with tiny white snowflakes. She reached down and grabbed the handle on the top of her bag and pulled it up picking her bag up from the ground. She slid one strap of her bag onto her shoulder and started heading for Kaede’s village. While walking through the forest she could faintly hear voices but there were still too far away to make out the words. She figured it was just Inuyasha and Kikyo so she continued on her way towards the village. After a few more minutes of walking the voices she heard became louder. She could barely make out their words, her curiosity wound up getting the best of her, and gently she placed her bag against the tree then stood fully up. She closed her eyes concreting on creating a barrier. Unknown to everyone even Inuyasha she taught herself how to create a sound and scent proof barrier around herself. Once she fully had her barrier up slowly she started making her way towards the voice. Every nerve in her body was telling her to stop, to turn around and go to the village, yet a little voice in her mind pushed her to move forward. After walking a few yards she came to a line of trees surrounding a clearing. Hiding behind one of the trees she peaked into the clearing she could see Inuyasha and Kikyo wrapped in each other’s arms. “Do you love me Inuyasha?” “Of course I love you Kikyo” “Then why do you always have Kagome around you?” “Kagome means nothing to me; she is just a jewel detector. Once we finish off Naraku I’m going to use the jewel to give you back your life even if it kills Kagome” Inuyasha’s last words stabled her like a knife as tears filled her eyes. She knew Inuyasha didn’t love her but he was willing to sacrifice her life in order to bring back one who died fifty years ago was more than could bear. She turned around letting her barrier fall as she took off running. She no longer cared if Inuyasha could smell her. When the barrier dropped Inuyasha’s nose twitched as Kagome’s scent hit it. Most of the time Inuyasha felt guilty when Kagome found out he was with Kikyo but this time he didn’t care. He finally made his choice and it was Kikyo not Kagome. She ran as tears stung her cheeks blurring her vision but it matter not to her. For six long painful years she followed Inuyasha faithfully, crying alone when he ran off to see Kikyo, while somewhere deep within her wished that he would choose her. She now knew who Inuyasha chose and she couldn’t handle it. How could he have chosen a dead clay pot over a warm living being was beyond her. Small sharp tree branches ripped at her clothing tearing into her skin she didn’t feel them for pain in her heart was too great. After what felt forever her legs finally gave out beneath her causing her to fall straight down onto the ground. Her body had stopped moving as her adrenalin finally settled to the point where she felt her body burning from the small scratching covering it. She did not care for she welcomed the painful sensation hoping it would relieve the pain of her heart, sadly it did not work. At that moment she just wanted her life to end for she had nothing left, the only man she ever loved has finally broken her completely leaving her a shattered heart. As she sat there tears still rolled down her cheeks as she wondered how it was possible to feel so much pain. She was so lost in thought that she didn’t notice the clearing begin to fill with miasma. Her vision started to become burly due to the poison. Within a couple minutes she fell sideways to the ground out cold. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
