Chapter 1

"Remember this." A cold voice spat, its words dripping with vemon.
"No one will ever be enough for my son. No one."

Night fell upon what was known to be the city of Tokyo, the few stars that managed to shine through the lights twinkling bravely. All had settled down, the humans preparing to rest for the day to come. But to those still roaming the streets a strange sight was to be seen.
A child.
Except that by the looks of it, it wasn't actually a child.
More like a doll.
It stood about the same size as a six year child, and was dressed in a violet kimono. The kimono was held in place by a black silk sash the tied in the back in an oversized bow. Its eyes held no pupils whatsoever, almost as if the doll had no soul in it. Just two milky white orbs.
The humans passing by would keep their distance while walking past, some trying to act like they hadn't seen her and others shrieking when they passed.
The doll had a head of thick obsidian hair that was pulled up into a tight bun. A pair of decorative chopsticks with silver beads hanging off the ends were protruding from the bun and about her neck was a small rosary necklace that was black in color. The lifeless doll walked through the streets, its destination clear, and after what seemed an eternity walking it was close. The doll lifted her head slowly, gazing up at the large staircase that lay before her. "Higurashi Shrine.." The doll spoke, in a soft childlike voice, starting to asecend up the staircase

"Sota, time for bed!" Kagome yelled to her younger sibling, making her way down the stairs of their house to the kitchen. She opened the fridge, pulling out the things needed to make herself a sandwich when her mother called her name.
"Kagome, come here please." Her voice held a bit of fear in it and Kagome tensed slightly, turning to see her mother standing infront of the window. "What is it, Mama?" She asked , coming over to see what it was she was looking at. Kagome's mother pointed out the window and Kagome followed it to look out at the shrine that housed the Bone Eaters Well.
Making its way over to the shrine was a small child.
"Stay here." Kagome said sternly, putting her shoes on and running out the kitchen door to the child. "Excuse me, are you..." Her words trailed off and she slowed down her pace as she drew closer to the child.
No, not a child.
A doll.
The doll turned its head to stare at Kagome with those empty eyes. Her heart skipped a beat and soon the beings aura started to show. A wave of pain and sorrow emitted from the small doll and Kagome could feel tears sting at her eyes from how strong it was.
"Help me.." Kagome blinked a few times at the voice, forcing the tears back and looking around before her eyes landed once more on the doll, this time seeing the small lips move.
"Please, help me.." With a bit of hesitation, Kagome moved closer to the doll, kneeling down when she was standing right infront of it. 'She's definately not from here.' She thought to herself, looking the girl over. "Help you with what?" The doll turned to face her fully and Kagome made quick note of the rosary around her neck. "Help me get back to him.." "Him?" Kagome's curiostiy perked and the doll simply nodded its head. It pointed a finger towards the shrine. "Through there, I can get back.." Taking in a deep breath , Kagome stood straight. "I'll take you, but first why don't you come in? I need to finish getting ready."

"I'll take you, but first why don't you come in? I need to finish getting ready." The female gave the doll a bright smile that made a sense of security build inside. The doll nodded and allowed herself to be led inside.
The girls mother looked over at her when they entered the kitchen area of the home and gave a warm smile of herself. "Welcome to Higurashi shrine." She greeted, placing a plate of food on the table. The girl from before pulled out a seat for her and even helped the doll get up into it. "My name is Kagome." She said, sitting in the chair across from her. "What's your name?" A silence hung over the room as they waited for an answer. "I..I am not allowed to say." Kagome raised a brow at this but soon dimished it with a wide smile. "Then I'll have to give you a name!" The doll looked up at Kagome and watched as she sat there tapping a finger against her chin. "How about.."
"Yukiko!" Once again the room fell silent, a slight color flushing onto Kagome's face as she watched the doll. After a few seconds the doll nodded its head making a sound like a small giggle. Kagome smiled and nodded her head as well. "Yukiko it is."
After Kagome had gotten all of her things stuffed into an extremely oversized yellow backpack, Yukiko followed her inside the shrine to Bone Eaters Well. The aged shrines floor was littered with bones. Bones that Yukiko knew belonged to demons from many centuries ago. The doll was pulled from her thoughts when Kagome gently grabbed her hand. She turned to look at the human girl and watched as she started at her hand for a moment before smiling to her.
"Ready?" Yukiko nodded and Kagome hoisted her up to edge of the well. "Just hold on tight!" Before she could even answer her, Kagome jumped down into the well, pulling the doll with her. Just as they were about to hit the bottom of the wall, the two were engulfed in bright purple light, the well disappearing as they floated in the rift. Kagome glanced over at Yukiko and smiled, reassuring her that everything was alright. As soon as it had appeared the purple light faded and the two found themselves at the bottom of the well. Yukiko tilted her head curiously before looking up to Kagome, about to ask her what had happened before the sound of birds chirping reached her ears.
"Welcome to the Feudal Era." Kagome said, starting to climb the thick vines that reached down into the well.
Kagome pulled herself out of the well first, helping Yukiko out and setting her gently on the ground. Yukiko brushed her kimono off before looking around, a sigh of disbelief escaping her. She was really back home. If she had known that it was that easy she would have done it earlier.
"Kagome!" A rough male voice called, making Yukiko turn to face her human companion. The dolls white eyes widened slgihtly at what she saw coming their way. A male clad in a red hakama with long silver locks and two inu ears poking out from the top of his head. As he drew closer to Kagome, he finally caught sight of Yukiko, raising a slender brow as his saffron eyes studied her. "Who's that?" Kagome turned to face the doll and smiled.
"Oh, this is Yukiko, I found her in our time. She's not dangerous." The male scoffed and turned away from the two. "Whatever." Kagome let out a nervous chuckle before noticing the scared look on the dolls face. "Whats wrong Yukiko?" The male turned back to face them, the corner of his lips twitching. Yukiko felt her heart thump loudly in her chest as she looked into those eyes.
'Inuyasha...'
