This is the first fanfiction I've written and actually bothered to post, so please be easy on me. It make take a little while to get going, but I hope you guys will like it. Feel free to read and review, and I hope to have another chapter out soon <3

Looking at the calendar one last time, Kagome let out a soft sigh, wiping the back of her hand across her brow and moving her unruly hair from her eyes once more. Just one more year until she could see her mother again. It had been 500 years since she had been pulled into the well, 494 years since they managed to defeat Naraku, and 495 years since the well had sealed and trapped her in the Fuedal Era. She was forced to make a wish, a wish she knew was impossible. Unselfish? There was no such thing as an unselfish wish, it would always benefit someone, somehow, so she simply wished the only one that would benefit the most. She wished that all those who Naraku had killed would be alive once more. Sango got her brother back, Inuyasha got Kikyo, Shippo got his parents, and so many others benefitted from the wish that Kagome at least felt confident in making the correct one. The jewel, however, wasn’t destroyed, and entered her body once more, sealing the well, and trapping her there.
Years passed by, and Kagome grew in beauty. Where once she was awkward and gangly teenager, her body matured into that of a woman. Her hips became more defined, her legs were long and toned, her breasts became large, although not overly so, her lips became fuller and she topped out at a whopping 5’3”. Her hair still maintained its curly and unmanageable appearance, and her sea blue eyes gained silver specs that reflected the moonlight when the Shikon was reabsorbed. She also ceased to age after she turned 21, a side effect of the jewel. It was her job to protect it, and so it granted her immortality.
Inuyasha eventually married Kikyo, Sango married Miroku and Shippo went off to live with his parents, but still came by to visit Kagome at least a few times a month. Kikyo ending up with Inuyasha didn’t hurt nearly as bad as Kagome had thought, and with the mating, Kikyo stopped aging much like Kagome, and the two of them became good friends. Sango and Miroku had a full nest in just a few years and lived a long and happy life until passing away together of old age. They were found by Kagome the following morning still wrapped in each other’s arms. Deciding they should be together even in death, they were buried in the same grave. Kagome took it as her personal duty to care for their children and grandchildren and helped raise them to this day.
Sesshomaru would bring Rin to visit whenever he passed through Kaede’s village, knowing the girl was rather attached to Kagome. The tradition continued until Rin became too old and too weak to travel. Kagome lived at the palace with Sesshomaru for her final months until she too passed away. Sesshomaru took it rather hard and vanished for nearly 100 years. His kingdom being held together only by Kagome who knew little about running a kingdom, and Inuyasha who was the rightful heir behind Sesshomaru, but who had no free time while raising adorable Hanyous of his own. She ruled fairly and the guards and lower lords fortunately followed her rule, knowing she was a powerful miko. Sesshomaru returned at the beginning of the Yokai Cleansing that spread across the island of Japan.
A rogue group of Mikos, Monks and demon exterminators revolted against the peace that had reigned in Japan for nearly 150 years since the defeat of Naraku. They purified and murdered demons with no regret, so Kagome gathered as many demons as she could that could maintain a humanoid form, and created talismans that would seal away their demon blood and appearances. It took Kagome a large amount of her energy, and several weeks’ time to create the talismans that were needed, many rings and necklaces and jewelry that the demon already had in their possession. When all was finished, she fell into a slumber that lasted nearly 50 years, meanwhile, since Sesshomaru’s kingdom had fallen during the war, he took use of Kagome’s history books to predict the future and amass a large fortune. Kikyo, Inuyasha, Shippo and Sesshomaru cared for Kagome until she finally would wake, keeping her hidden and building a large mansion on the outskirts of what would later become Tokyo, Japan, until she finally awoke.
With the large fortune that Sesshomaru managed to create, he created a new kingdom for himself and the others in the business world. Ruthlessly destroying opponents who tried to cut him down. His company, Taisho Inc, became a worldwide business. Kagome, however, was not allowed to participate, afraid if her face made it into the papers or the internet, her family or her present self might come looking for her, so she was kept like a bird in a gilded cage. She was provided with the ultimate luxuries, and fortunately the others, save for Kikyo, weren’t concerned with being in the spotlight, so she was rarely alone, and yet, she craved to be free once more. One more year, and then she would be able to return to her family and be seen once more, to fly free. One more year until her present self would make her final trip through the well. One more year until she could finally be held in her mother’s arms once again. She smiled, wiping a few tears from her eyes as she stood from her spot in the office and made her way down to the kitchen. The others would be home soon, and knowing those three, they would be starving. She wondered when Inuyasha’s children and grandchildren would come to visit once more. She missed the little demons, although she was sad they had lost the dog ears that their father had as the blood become more and more diluted with human genes. Reaching into the fridge, she pulled out steaks, those men and their red meat, as well as some chicken for Kikyo and herself, and busied herself making dinner.
