Author notes: This story takes place in a made up universe much like an American city (since I don't know much about Japanese culture) it is a universe where youkai and humans coexist but there's some racism towards youkai and hanyous but not too much. Also I don't know too much about college life since I haven't gone to any college myself, so I will make my own version on how college work. This is a totally made up universe after all!
Inuyasha was searching frenetically through his bag. He couldn't find his history book at all. And he had looked EVERYWHERE! He was supposed to turn in an essay about some great youkai Kings at the end of the week, and he had totally forgotten about it!“Where the fuck is it!” He shouted “I know I put it here somewhere!”
“What are you yelling about?” Miroku said as he walked in to the room. “It sounds as you are building out the room, I could hear you from across the building! What are you up to?”
Inuyasha stopped his searching and looked up at his roommate.
He had been so busy looking for the book that he hadn't heard him come in.
“I can't find my damn history book, and I have an essay about some damn moldy kings to turn in by Friday! I have looked everywhere!” He shouted in panic.
“Since when do you even care about turning in essays on time?” Miroku said and looked at him in shock
“Since Kikyo said that she thinks it's important that I don't flunk more classes so I can get a decent job in the future”
Miroku looked at his roommate in sympathy. He knew that things had been rather shaky between Inuyasha and Kikyo lately. They had been going out since the beginning of last year of high school. And they were constantly fighting, for some reason they never broke up.
Miroku had never liked Kikyo. She was much too stiff and had no sense of humor. And it didn’t help that she came from a long line of mikos. Mikos that didn't go to well with the youkai and hanyou race. But Inuyasha seemed quite attached to her, so he kept his thoughts to himself.
“Are you sure that you have looked everywhere?” Miroku said and walked towards Inuyasha’s desk to look.
“Yes! It isn't here! And I can't sniff it out because of all the dust! Everything smells the same! We seriously need to clean this dump up!” He said with a gesture across the now wrecked room.
“Well if we didn't before we certainly need to clean now” Miroku said with a frown. “Did you really need to go through all of my stuff too?”
Inuyasha snorted and started to put his books back into the bag.
When all of the books and various other things were back in the bag he sat back against the wall with a sigh.
His face fell against the wall with a thud.
“What the fuck am I supposed to do now?!” He said and looked at Miroku who were in the middle of picking up various books and other things on the floor.
Miroku paused what he where doing and looked over at his friend.
“Any chance that you could get a new one? Or maybe borrow from a classmate?”
“No” Inuyasha said tiredly “I haven't got the money to buy a new one, and the my classmates are using their books right now and can't lend me one”
Inuyasha's head dropped into his hands as he sighed once again.
“You can't search information over the Internet then?” Miroku asked.
“There aren't any information about the youkai Kings over the Internet for some strange reason” Inuyasha mumbled.
Miroku looked over at the shredded room and called it a loss cause and walked over to the office chair and sat down.
“You know…” Miroku began. “I've heard that there's going to be a huge party tonight.”
Inuyasha's ears perked up a little at that.
“I thought that it might take your worries of off things. You know, loosen up a little” Miroku said carefully.
Inuyasha looked up at him as he thought about it. And frowned after a few seconds and dropped his head back on his hands.
“I can't!” He said. “First of all tonight is my human night. And second of all, I have plans with Kikyo tonight.”
Miroku grimaced at the last statement and then he slumped back on the chair.
“Well, your human night isn't really a problem. Everybody on campus knows about is and when I accrues. And personally like it better when you're Human when we party together. You get drunk a lot easier then!” Miroku said with a light laugh. “And I don't see any problem about you dragging Kikyo with you at the party. Hell she might loosen up a little as well.”
“Well, I'll try to take her with me then.” He said with a small smile. “But I won't make any promises.”
“Good enough for me my friend!” Miroku said and stood up. “Now! What do you say? Shall we clean up this dump?”
Miroku walked across the room and dragged Inuyasha back up on his feet.
“Yeah, I guess we should. And I might have even find that goddamn book if I'm lucky.” Inuyasha said. And started to help Miroku with the extreme mess he had made.

Later that evening Inuyasha walked over to Kikyo’s dorm room. She had her room on the other side of campus in a much nicer building. Her family had a lot of money so they could afford her to stay there. She didn't have a roommate either. She said that she didn't like the idea with living with a stranger.
Inuyasha had said that the “stranger” might be nice.
She had just snorted at him, so he hadn't pressed the issue.
He had been extremely lucky to have gotten Miroku as a roommate. They had been friends since middle school. So it had just been natural moving in together. And it had been going really well living together except a few small fights about cleaning and laundry. But they had solved it quite quickly.
As he walked towards Kikyo's building he saw a tall dark haired girl walking towards him in a hurry. She was carrying a gym bag and a huge boomerang across her shoulder.
“Oi Sango!” Inuyasha said and waved at her.
“Hi Inuyasha!” She said and walked to him. “You on your way to meet Kikyo?”
“Yeah, I'm going to convince her to join me and Miroku at a campus party tonight.” He said and looked up at the sky. It was still a good two hours to go before the sun was going to set.
“I hope I succeed. If you don’t have any other plans for tonight you should come!” He said.
“Sure! I could use some time off from training.” She said and adjusted the hirakusu on her shoulder. “When and were?”
“I don't know exactly. You should ask Miroku. He should be at our place.” He said. “I should be going now. Wish me luck!”
“Good luck Inuyasha” Sango said with a light giggle. “I'll see you tonight!”
They waved each other off and Inuyasha walked the last small distance towards Kikyo's campus building.
He opened the main door and ran up the stairs and reached his destination on the fifth floor.
He knocked softly on the door and waited for her to answer.
After a few seconds he heard footsteps and the door unlocked.
“Hi Inuyasha” she said as she opened the door. “Please come in.”
She backed away from the door to give him room to walk past her into the rather small hallway. While inside he closed and locked the door behind him.
“Hi Kikyo. How you've been? I haven't seen you in a while.” He said while he removed his shoes and walked into the living area.
Kikyo who had taken a seat in one of her couches and was looking in a book about advanced archery looked up at him when he spoke.
“I've been good. Quite busy since I've been taking a lot of advanced classes lately, but I have been turning in some of my more important essays so now I'm not that busy anymore.” She said with a shrug and proceeded to look in her book.
Inuyasha walked to the couch she was sitting on and sat down beside her.
He cleared his throat and looked out the window. He wouldn't be turning human for another hour.
“I want to ask you something.” He asked carefully.
Kikyo putted down her book and turned her attention to him.
“Yes?” She said after a while of silence.
Inuyasha on the other hand tried to find the best words to use that might convince her to come with him and Miroku to the party.
He cleared his throat again and swallowed.
“Well…” He tried after a while. “Miroku asked me to join him at a party here on campus tonight.” He began. “And I said that I should talk to you first, since we've made plans today.”
For a while Kikyo just looked at him and that made him nervous. He could smell her irritation and that made him even more nervous. For a long while he just sat there sweating and wished that she would say something already.
“Okey.” She finally said. “But you just said that we've already made plans. So what's the point even asking me for you to go. And isn't it your human night tonight?”
“Well, yeah. But he said that you could come with.” Inuyasha said hopefully. “And yes it is my human night, but it won't be a problem.”
“Soo, let me get this straight. You're asking me, to join a campus party whit you and your flirtatious friend? Well that sounds like fun!” She said sarcastically and crossed her arms with a frown on her face.
“We don't have to go if you don't want to, but I thought it sounded like it would be fun.” He said. “A lot of out classmates will be there, and I know that Sango will be there. I met her on my way here.”
Her features relaxed a little at that. As she thought about it for a while.
“We don't have to stay there all night.” He said. “Just for a few hours, and then we can go back to your place if you're bored.”
She slumped back into the couch and looked into his so-far golden eyes.
“Fine!” She said “but just for a while. I want to make the most of your human night.”
Inuyasha smiled darkly at her words, knowing she liked him better as a human than a hanyou. She barely touched him while he was in his hanyou form. But deep down he knew that she loved him and he knew that he couldn't find a better girl then her. So he let her words slide.
“Ok then!” She said. “I need to get ready. And so should you. Meet me downstairs in an hour ok?”
“Yes I will.” He said and gave her a peck on the lips and walked towards the hallway to put on his shoes and unlocked the door.
“Don't be late!” She said. “I don't want to have to wait for you.”
“I won't be late.” He promised and opened the door and walked out. “I'll see you in an hour.”
She waved him off and he walked back towards his room. He couldn't believe that he actually convinced her to come with without arguing with her.
This would be a good night!
