It isn't easy being green.. or in this case having green eyes. With her father's family having always been in SIlvermoon it was no surprise that life very quickly got unpleasant for Azanthya, despite having lived her entire life in Stormwind the naturally green eyes and rudy skin that ran in the Blazemourne lines helped to make her life particularly difficult, which was only compounded by the usual prejudice against warlocks in general. Before long even The Slaughtered Lamb, the only place she could go to unwind, also barred her entry. Her own parents were stilted with her, with her love for bold colors and her habit of trying to buck the ever tightening belt of rules well things weren't pretty for her after word had reached Stormwind that Silvermoon had defected and joined the horde. Tired of being watched like some criminal the moment an opportunity rose to get the hell out of dodge she took it. Sold everything she couldn't carry and pocketted the gold before heading to the portal, Outlands was her salvation.... Though there was an immediate problem upon reaching Outland, the Dwarf who was the flightmaster refused to talk to her at all but the Orc sent her to Thrallmar which was unnerving. She got it immediately, they thought she was sin'dorei....
That was 15 years prior. Azanthya had slowly learned the languages of the horde, learned their culture and histories... and had embraced the idea of being sin'dorei, during her early years in outland she had reestablished contact via letters to her paternal uncle and learned she would have a place in his estate should she return to Azeroth, and it took her time, she had a home in Shattrath that she had to clear after all, once more selling everything not of emotional attachment and pockets the gold before packing the rest into the magical bags that her uncle had sent her. She takes a windrider back to the dark portal ready and willing to finally return to her family even if her maternal family would forever be lost to her, though in reality she knew it wasn't a great loss as most of them were stuck up holier-then-thou people but it was a blow to realize that her own parents would see her as a traitor as well. She stops after climbing off the windrider and giving the beast a rub along his ears in thanks to look at the dark portal. It had been a long time since she'd even set eyes on it as she'd spent the last decade bouncing between Shattrath and Shadowmoon Valley helping the Scryers to the best of her ability.
A soft hum leaves her as she reaches into herself drawing forth the energy to summon her Wraithguard to her side with a pleasant smile gracing her lips. She of course knew the dangers of demons better then most but she treated her summons with respect and so far it had paid off with them not trying to kill her yet so it worked out well. She pats his arm almost affectionately before heaving a sigh, she was still uncertain about heading back to Azeroth just yet even knowing she had a home waiting for her, apparently her aunt and uncle both were getting impatient for her to come home according to the last letter she had recieved which had come with the bags. She glances at the portal again then back to the Orc, "Thrallmar please." She asks in a highly accented orcish and takes the short trip there. While she was heading back to civilization she knew there was a long trek up across the blasted lands before she could take a windrider Up to Eversong so she wanted to make sure she had supplies.
She looks around as she arrives and is surprised that after 15 years they still didn't have the felorcs under control but she shakes her head and with her Wraithguard materializing beside her she heads to see Floyd Pinkus about supplies. The undead man lead her to the side room where he kept things in stock* and let the curvy elf pick what she needed from the stores after she dropped half a dozen gold coins in his hand. While it was more then the supplies actually cost she reached out and folded the man's bony fingers over it as she smiles softly, "Keep it Floyd. You've been most kind to me through out the time we've known each other." Then she left the surprised Forsaken behind as she whistles softly heading back to the flight master and gives the big tauren there the coin for the ride back to the dark portal and a broad smile before mounting up on the windrider and heading back once more. There was no excuse now she couldn't delay going through and facing whatever the future held though she knew she would certainly miss Voren'thal he had been such a wonderful friend despite his frail health.
She takes a deep breath as her feet touch down on the pavers, how apt that she stand on the stairs of destiny when preparing to head home. With her Wraithguard materializing beside her once more she breathes in deep the fel tainted air she was so used to and starts for the portal with slow steps, she glances to the side at the portal to Orgrimmar she could take if she only asked but that would put her on the wrong continent and really she wasn't al too keen to spend a month or more aboard a zepplin to get back over to the eastern kingdoms then the trip on a smelly bat from tirisfal up to Eversong wasn't high on her list of things to do either so this was the best route really. Remembering the disorientation she felt on the trip through the first time her eyes close, and in closing her eyes she missed something important. While the darkportal always flashed when someone went through usually it was green tinted... this time... as the elf and her wraithguard walked through it... it flashed an ominous red before returning to it's natural greenish tint.
The trip through only took a matter of moments but it never the less left Azanthya's insides feeling like she'd been spinning in rapid circles on one of her conraptions. When her eyes open however... her stomach suddenly dropped and her heart seemed to climb into her throat. Unless something drastic had happened in the last 15 years since she had come through the blasted lands.... she was fairly certain it wasn't supposed to be heavily forested area which lead to the very obvious question... 'where on Azeroth am I?' Azanthya moves a step closer to her wraithguard anxiety rolling off her in waves making the big demon's tail twitch as he looked around for the source. After a few minutes of building anxiety she turns intending to go back through the portal.... only to find that there is no portal behind her. A gasp leaves her before it dawns on her, sure she'd have to make the flight again but she still had her hearthstone and it was still set to her old quarters on the Scryer's tier!
She immediately starts patting herself down as she usually kept the palm sized white stone close at hand. Finding it she closes her fingers around it and pulls it from the small pocket it was usually kept in.... only to look at the stone in dismay. It was near broken, only a hairline of stone still kept the two halves together and the normal faint hum of magic she was so used to feeling from it was gone. She stares at the hearthstone with heavy heart, she didn't know how else to get back. Briefly her thoughts went to the wormhole generators in one of her bags but then she vetoed that idea. she didn't know if they would work whereever it was she had ended up and if they did she didn't know they would actually send her where they were supposed to. She sighs heavily and pats the big wraithguard's arm speaking lowly though it was more for herself then anyone else, "I guess this means until I can figure out what happened and how to reverse it... We are stuck."

* because apparently ingame the innkeepers keep all the goods they have for sale in their pockets. Just doesn't seem reasonable, or logical, so I changed it.
Well that's the first chapter. I know I know I should be working on "A day in the life" not writing other fics but this one and another which is a IYYGO crossover won't leave me alone until I write them. I will TRY to keep up with all three.
Azanthya is my Sin'dorei Warlock on Elune US. she is max level (at this time that's the 100 cap) and she is an enginneer (also at max level for that which means 700). Feel free to say hello if you see her.
