Inuyasha nuzzled the
little kitsune for comfort. His pup had been quite upset with Kougas appearance
and ramblings about taking Kagome away. The hanyou could understand him; the pup
had already lost his mother, and now there had been a chance that he would loose
his new mother.

Shippou-chan, it�s ok, mama is
not going anywhere, she will be right here with us do you understand?

Yes Inu-papa, but what if�
sniffled Shippou with teary eyes.

No buts my pup, I will not let
anything happened to her. Trust me; I will kill anyone, including that mangy
wolf, who tries to take her away from us.
Shippou nodded and seeped
in the warmth from the hanyou. He curled in between Inuyasha and Kagome, feeling
loved and secure. He purred in content.

Kagome woke up to the
vibrations on her stomach. She opened slowly her eyes and was met by two golden
glittering eyes of Inuyasha.

Good morning my love, I hope you
will not faint again, he whispered and kissed her on her forehead. Even though I
really enjoy watching you sleep, I rather want to have you awake.

Take it easy, Shippou-chan is
under your shirt again, said Inuyasha and pointed towards the bulge under
Kagomes shirt. I think he likes to be there.

Ohh, tell me that I am dreaming
again?

No Kagome, do not faint on me
again; we have a lot to talk about.
She nodded and tried to
grasp all the things that had happened the last 24 hours. She looked around and
saw the unconscious form of Kouga sprawled out in the dirt. Was he dead?

No, he is not dead, Miroku
whacked him over the head because he was annoying and he made Shippou very upset
too.

Annoying? What did he do? asked
Kagome and took carefully Shippou from under her shirt and cradled the little
fox in her arms like a little baby.

He wanted to take you away from
us, he wanted to make you his mate and lead female in his pack. When we said he
could not have you he threatened us. Shippou was very afraid that he would loose
his new mama.

He sees me as his new mama?

Yes, he does. He cried a lot,
but I assured him that I would not allow anyone to take you away from us.
Sesshoumaru and Sango were both prepared to defend us, it was then Miroku showed
up and bumped him hard on the head. I am guessing he would be out cold for a
couple of hours more. Come my love; let us have some of Kaedes soup before he
wakes up. You must tell him to give up his claim on you, or else he will try to
take you away again.
Kagome nodded, and got up
from Inuyashas lap. He took the kit from her embrace and escorted his mate to be
into the hut. Kaede and Miroku smiled towards the blushing young miko. They had
soon finished the tasty soup and Inuyasha asked Kaede to take care of their pup
for a few hours.

Kagome and I have a lot to talk
about. And do not worry pup, we will back soon. Just keep an eye on that mangy
wolf out there; I do not want him around when I talk to Kagome.

-
Alright Inu-papa, I and Miroku
will knock him out if he tries to follow, said Shippou bravely.

You are a good pup, smiled
Inuyasha and patted his son on his head.
Kagomes heart was warmed
by the sight of the two of them. But before she could say anything Inuyasha had
scooped her up in his arms and darted out from the hut.
