Chapter Ten.

Kagome now wanted to return to the feudal era and inform Kouga of her choice and that she was picking Inuyasha as her mate. She wondered what he�ll do or say. She really didn�t want to hurt his feelings but she loved Inuyasha more than she did with Kouga.
She stood by the well looking down within it. The mental image of Kouga blowing up at her for killing his heart started to make her decision of telling him that she picked Inuyasha was too much to where she turned to Inuyasha and asked, �Let�s stay here and not go back?�
"What about the others?"
"They�ll figure it out."
�But wouldn�t you rather have them see us get married? They�re your friends too,� Inuyasha said, as he looked at her.
"We can't always time jump, we'll have to pick a time."
�Kagome, what worries you?� asked Inuyasha.
�It�s Kouga, Inuyasha; he wants me as his mate. I can only imagine him being furious with me as I picked another instead of him,� Kagome stated, gently.
�I doubt he�ll be angry with you, my love, he�ll only want the best for you,� said Inuyasha.
Kagome look at Inuyasha in shock. "You actually think so?"
�Yeah, I know so,� said Inuyasha. �He�ll accept it as he has a woman who he deserves more,�
Kagome smiled and hugged him. "Well we should go then."
�Sure,� Inuyasha kissed her before leaping into the well with her in his arms.
Inuyasha climbed out of the well looked around first before he turned towards Kagome and helped her out of the well. Kagome looked around the well looking for Kouga but she didn�t find him there.
�Inuyasha, do you smell Kouga in the air or his wolf tribe?� asked Kagome, turning to look at him.
"Yeah I do, but they are a bit of a ways away."
�Do you think we can get to the village in time before they get any closer?� asked Kagome.
�You don�t want to see Kouga first?� asked Inuyasha, looking at her.
�Not at this moment, Inuyasha,� Kagome said, as she started to head towards the village.
Inuyasha nodded as he lifted her up into his arms and dashed off towards the village. Sango noticed Inuyasha returning but he was carrying someone. Could it be Kagome? �Miroku, Inuyasha�s back and he brought Kagome,�
"Well at least he did something right."
�But is it to bring Kagome to Kouga as his mate or did they finally reveal their hearts to each other and they�re going to get married?� asked Sango, watching as Inuyasha and Kagome came closer to them.
"Well if he was smart, he'd have confessed."
"He probably did,"
�Which means he�s finally going to be happy at last,�
"So once they give us the good news, we should probably go back the demon hunter village, it's a place where we won't be interrupted." Miroku said.
�If I know Inuyasha, as soon as they married here, he�ll go to Kagome�s time and live with her in her time. I doubt he�ll want his wife to be too far from her family,� Sango said.
"True and he's want to get as far away from his brother as possible."
�But if Sesshoumaru is immortal, then wouldn�t he be alive in Kagome�s time?� asked Sango.
"Maybe, a lot can happen in five hundred years,"
"Considering how Sesshoumaru is, he's probably alive in Kagome's times."
�Hopefully, time has mellowed him down,� Miroku said. Sango nodded, as Inuyasha came to a halt before them.
�Hi Sango, Miroku, I have returned with my bride,� spoke Inuyasha, smiling big as he wrapped his arms around Kagome�s waist.
�You lucky dog you, congratulations!� Miroku said, as he shook Inuyasha�s hand.
�Watch it, Miroku, who you are calling a dog!� snapped Inuyasha. �Because the dog can bite back hard,�
�No offense, Inuyasha,� Miroku said, holding his hands up.
�None taken, right, Inuyasha?� asked Kagome, looking at him.
�Yeah, no offense,� Inuyasha said. �Where are Kaede and Kikyou?�
�Kaede is in her hut, I�m not sure where Kikyou is though," Miroku stated.
�Well, let us go see Kaede first,� said Kagome.
Inuyasha nodded as they headed for her hut and to their shock Kikyou was there too.
"Hello Inuyasha, I see you've taken my advice." Kikyou stated, gently.
�Yeah, truthfully, I took two people�s advice � yours and my older brother Sesshoumaru,� Inuyasha said.
�Sesshoumaru, where did you encounter him at?� asked Sango.
�In Kagome�s time, he was the one who told me to go confront my hidden feelings for Kagome and I wouldn�t have asked her to be my mate, the mother of my children,� said Inuyasha.
"So he has mellowed?"
�I say so, he was dressed in tight leather clothes,� said Inuyasha.
�So was he hot looking?� asked Sango.
�Sango!� cried Miroku.
�Well does he look hot?� asked Sango, smirking.
�Yes, he did, Sango and for some odd reason I think he has a thing for my mom!� cried Kagome.
Sango laughed. "That may be a problem,"
"Could be more then just a problem, if those two hook up, would it actually be morally right for Inuyasha and Kagome?�
"Who cares?"
�Well, Kagome�s mother would be Inuyasha�s sister in law and Kagome would be Sesshoumaru�s step daughter. Yeah, I would say so. Maybe they are just good friends?� asked Shippou.
�That�s possible, he could be a good friend of hers,� said Sango.
"He'd better be just friends with her." Inuyasha grumbled.
�When we get back to my time, we�ll ask him,� Kagome said, placing her hand on his arm. Inuyasha nodded as he looked at her.
Kaede looked at Inuyasha. �Have you given up the quest to become a full fledge demon?�
"Yes and no,"
"INUYASHA!"
"Calm down, for one I have partly given up because I don't want to lose my soul, but as a full demon I'd be a lot more powerful and able to protect those I love much better,"
�But Inuyasha, you can protect me and our children just the way you are right now,� spoke Kagome.
"And what if the Tessaiga gets broken, as a hanyou I can't protect you from myself, as a full demon I won't lose control."
�I know how to wake you from that stage, Inuyasha. All I have to do is say . . .� spoke Kagome.
Sango quickly covered her mouth. �I think he knows what you mean, Kagome,�
�It�s true, Inuyasha, all Kagome has to say is sit and you awaken from your demon spell,� Miroku stated.
�It�s a side effect to the beads around your neck. All I have to say is sit�oops, sorry, love, and that spell breaks your demon spell,� said Kagome, as she helped Inuyasha from the hole he made when he slammed to the ground.
�But I must state that it might not work when Inuyasha is in full demon mode, Kagome. We did see it happen and the sit command did nothing to him,� Miroku added.
"Oh yeah," Kagome said as she remembered all the blood shed from the incident with the mother demon and the bandits, it had taken Sesshoumaru to knock Inuyasha out so the Tessaiga could return him to normal.
Inuyasha saw the look on her face. "So you remember; do you understand why I still partly seek to be a full demon."
Kagome nodded. "Or maybe become fully human?"
"I don't think I could survive fully human Kagome."
�I think you can. You handled it fine on the new moon,� said Kagome.
"Even then Kagome, I'm scared for my own safety and even more for yours."
�We won�t be living here, love, we�ll be living in my own time. There are no demons there for you to be worried about attacking you, unless your brother decides to turn mean and beat you up,� Kagome said.
"There are demons in your time too Kagome, they are just better behaved."
�Then, you won�t have to worry about them unless they misbehave,� Kagome stated.
Kaede looked at them. �When will you be joining him as his mate, Kagome?�
"My time, just so there is less confusion."
�Then, I assume you won�t be here for my marriage to Miroku, then, Kagome?� asked Sango.
"Well if you tell us when it is we'll make sure to be there."
�Well, we decided to have it now,� said Sango. �We really can�t wait as we have a village to repopulate,�
Kagome grinned. "That's going to be a lot of work?"
"I think Miroku is up to it."
�Oh he�s �up� for it for a long, long time, Kagome,� Sango said, with a smile on her face.
Miroku looked shocked that Sango admitted it. He had been trying to hide it for the past several minutes. Inuyasha glanced over to the monk and noticed that he had his hands around his lower half for the past few minutes. He sniffed the air and scented the smell of a musky odor which usually came from the aroused state of a man or a hanyou. Could it be that Miroku was in the middle of something with Sango and they were pulled away to come see them?
Inuyasha grinned. "Considering the monk most likely,"
Miroku glared back at him. "It's not what you think."
"And I'm a monkey's uncle Miroku,"
�Inuyasha, sit!� snapped Kagome.
Inuyasha fumed as he laid there. It was not doing his back any good getting sated so many times. He could already feel his back aching from it all. �Sorry,�
"Good, you really shouldn't bug Miroku like that."
�He kind of deserve the bugging as he been after women to bear his babies for years,� Inuyasha said.
Sango said, as she leaned against Kagome. �He�s right, you know.�
"I guess so,"
Kaede asked, �Shall we commence the ceremony?�
Sango and Miroku nodded. A few minutes later after the drinking of the tea and the bowing to their elders, Miroku and Sango was finally married as they headed for their reception area where they feasted with the villagers till night came and they went to their hut that they were using for their home while they were there.
Kagome looked to Inuyasha, "That'll be us in a few days."
Inuyasha nodded. "I'm looking forwards to it, but the way, can you please remove these beads?"
Kagome turned to look at Kaede. Kagome smiled as she reached her hands around Inuyasha�s neck and lifted the necklace off of his neck and removed it fully. �There it�s off,�
Inuyasha smiled then kissed her. "Thanks,"
�Now, I must say farewell, Inuyasha, Kagome. May your marriage be blessed and filled with many little ones. My dear sister, my time here is now over,� spoke Kikyou, as she leapt into what looked like a bonfire lit for Sango and Miroku�s wedding but it was in fact was Kikyou�s funeral pyre.
"So it comes to an end, Kagome." Inuyasha said quietly.
"Or a new beginning," Kagome replied.
�Let�s go home,� Inuyasha said, as he held out his hand to her.
Kagome smiled as she went into his arms as she felt him lift her up into his arms and then the wind raced through her hair. She could see the bone gobbling well coming closer. But then, she sensed two fragments of the Shikon jewel near the well itself. Then, she saw him standing by the well. �Kouga, what are you doing here?�
"I just came to wish the two of you luck, that's all and I'm glad the mutt finally realized just how special you are Kagome."
�Thank you, Kouga.� Kagome said, as she hugged the wolf demon.
�Yeah, thanks for pushing me in the right direction in going to see her when you did, Kouga,� Inuyasha stated, as he held his hand out to him.
Kouga to Inuyasha�s surprise took his hand and smiled. "Be nice to her Inuyasha, and good luck." And then, he bolted away in a whirlwind.
�Typical of how he leaves,� Kagome said.
"Kouga wouldn't be Kouga if he didn't, what got me, was there wasn't a single insult. I wonder if he's feeling well."
The rushing sound of a whirlwind came closer as Kouga reappeared, �Oh by the way, mutt, don�t you dare hurt her feelings or I�ll cut them off of your body faster than you can say damn wolf demon!� And then, he raced away.
Inuyasha smiled. "Much better," he said before jumping down the well with Kagome.
They appeared at the bottom of the well.
�Have fun, brother?� asked Sesshoumaru, as he reached his right hand down to help Kagome up and then assisted his brother to get out of the well.
"Yeah, by the way did they ever repopulate?"
"Did who?"
"Miroku and Sango,"
�Yes, they did. I stayed with them for a few decades before moving on. They had many, many kids,� Sesshoumaru said. �Now, what about you, little brother; when will you be reproducing?�
�Why you . . .!� snarled Inuyasha, as his hand reached for Tessaiga.
�Inuyasha sit!� snapped Kagome, not recalling that she no longer has that power over Inuyasha.
Inuyasha smirked as he spoke, �Sorry Kagome, that doesn�t work on me no more.�
"Oh yeah�forgot."
"Don't worry love, I get the drift."
�So Kagome still has that ability over you, good girl, I�m just curious as in when will I be an uncle, that�s all, brother,� Sesshoumaru said, as he looked at Kagome and then to Inuyasha.
"Give us nine months to a year."
Sesshoumaru smiled before he turned towards the door. �Kagome, your mother wants you in the house immediately. Inuyasha, follow me, I have to get you ready for your marriage,�
About twenty minutes later, Inuyasha and Kagome were bowing before their grandparents and then headed off for the reception area as a married couple.
It was later that night, as they stood under the tree that Inuyasha was bound to so many years ago.
�And to think, that I was bound to this tree. The tree survived it and grew to be very beautiful,� said Inuyasha.
Kagome nodded, "This is also where we first met."
�And to think that I thought you were Kikyou, but you weren�t her. You were someone very special then and I didn�t even see it,� Inuyasha said. �I was slow to even realize that I loved you till I feared that I lost you.�
�But not anymore, Inuyasha, you are mine as I am yours,� whispered Kagome, as she kissed his lips.
