Sesshoumaru stared at the judge. Finally that cat was out of the bag. The secret ‘adoption’ was now out of the bag. There was never any adoption, it was just a cover. This vile woman had moved too far.
The judge stared her down, a cold expression in his eyes. Calgary stared back with an expression equally as icy.
“I have proven the child was NOT Miroku Thomas’s child. She was fathered by someone else.” Calgary started. “Furthermore, I do require remuneration for the child’s medical bills, and legal fees.”
“YOU vile BITCH!” InuYasha roared. “Didn’t you just hear the judge read of the DNA results? Miroku Thomas was my Brother’s son, therefore, Krista is his granddaughter..” InuYasha’s tirade was cut off by his pager going off. He gave a hasty glance to it then turned to the judge. “ I’m sorry your Honor, I have to leave.”
He raced for the courtroom.
The judge looked over the courtroom. He banged his gavel as Calgary looked stunned..
“My decision stands as earlier stated, all trust fund monies will be returned and you will leave the Taisho family in peace. Court dismissed” The final banging of the gavel signaled the end of the proceedings. Sesshoumaru stood and prepared to leave the courtroom.
When Sesshoumaru returned home, a note lay on the table from InuYasha. He’d been paged to work the ER due to short staffing and other problems. He’d also said that Kagome was staying with them again. He didn’t mind at all though. He changed his clothes, then went to the room she stayed in. Her eyes were red from crying. It had been nearly a month since she kicked Hojo out of her apartment, but they occasionally saw each other. Now she was regretting it.
Then Sesshoumaru looked into her eyes and saw the one thing was desperately trying to hide something from him. His heart nearly broke for her. He remembered his promise to her, but first.. He needed to eat.
“Kagome, are you hungry? I am going to fix some supper, I haven’t eaten since this morning before court. You can stay and relax in here or whatever.” He knew he was prolonging things. He wasn’t that hungry, but she may be.
“I’m starving, but not for food. I also just.. I don’t know. I ate before I got here, you know how mom is.”
She took a few steps towards him. She hugged him, he could feel her heart pounding. The times she’d slept with him without InuYasha around were very few. He leaned in and placed a light kiss on her lips. She trembled slightly and he caught something very wrong about her. His delicate sense of smell noted intense fear with her. She was also lying to him on many different levels. He’d let it slide, though. And when the time came for her, he’d be the one to take her. Though when he’d slept with InuYasha, he did tend to be rough and demanding. When he slept with her, even InuYasha had to admit, there was a tenderness that even he could never achieve with her.
“Let’s make a deal, Inu probably won’t be home for a few more hours, more than likely not till way early in the morning. I’m starving, as are you. I’ll fix us a hot meal. You go bathe, try to calm your nerves. Then I want you to tell me what’s bothering you.” He fixed her with a stern stare.
Kagome nodded slightly, then turned to her closet to get a change of clothes. She swayed on her feet, then collapsed into a heap. He raced to her side, and tried to revive her. Her pulse and breathing were erratic. He pulled his cell phone from his pocket and dialed for an ambulance. As he waited, he paced. There was a sharp smell to Kagome, as if someone had violated her in the worst sense.
Hearing the sirens come closer, he raced to the door and opened it. The medics rushed in and followed him to the fallen girl’s side. As they lifted her onto the stretcher, he noticed blood on the floor where she’d lain. Panic swept through him.
He nodded mutely as the medics asked if he was going to follow them to the hospital, then noticed that they were asking him what hospital.
“Tokyo General.” He said as he reached for his keys. He stood on the doorstep as he waited for them to load the girl’s limp form into the ambulance, and he allowed a few moments for them to leave. Then as he got in his car, his phone rang again.
“Sesshoumaru, What’s going on? Are you okay? Please..” Panic filled InuYasha’s voice.
“Inu It’s not me.. Relax. It’s Kagome. I think Hojo took more than her happiness this time!”

If you haven’t noticed, There’s more going on than is being said. Namely, Calgary and Hojo are working together to try and destroy Kagome and the brothers. And it’s all about to backfire in their faces!
