Ten

Aksumi awoke in the middle of the night to the phone
ringing. Quickly she got up and ran into the hallway to answer �hello?�

�It�s time; we�re at the hospital now�

�I understand; we�ll be there shortly� she replied at she hung
up the phone before calling out �Souta! Jii-chan! Wake up! It�s time!�

Souta stepped out of his room as his mom repeated it again
before he gasped and ran back into his room to dress. In a matter of 10 minutes
they were all dressed and downstairs. They took a minute to make sure they had
everything before heading off the hospital. They entered the parking lot of the
hospital before heading to the waiting room where Shippo was waiting.

He smiled at them �you guys made it!�

Aksumi smiled �yes we did�

�Where�s Kagome?� asked Souta.

�She�s already gone into labor� Shippo replied �Sesshoumaru
is in there with her� he chuckled �I�d sure hate to be him right now�

Meanwhile in the delivery room with Kagome and Sesshoumaru.

Kagome screamed as another contraction hit her �god damn it,
it hurts!�

Sesshoumaru held her hand �relax�

�Don�t you be telling me to relax!� she growled at him
�you�re the one who did this so me you asshole!�

�Okay, I just want you to give a small push� said the
doctor.

Kagome breathed in and did as she was told before letting
out the breath. She glared at her future husband �next time you be the one to
get pregnant and I�ll tell you to relax!�

The nurses giggled as they tried to prepare everything for
the new arrival.

He smirked �relax dear�

�Shut up!� she yelled as she was told to push again and
screamed as a wave of pain hit her. She looked at him with a glare when the
pain subsided �I�d like to see how you�d feel trying to push a watermelon out
of your dick!�

He chuckled �I don�t think our child would like to hear when
they�re older they were referred to as a watermelon�

�Bite me you jerk!� she snapped.

�Alright, alright� said the doctor calmly, trying to hold in
his own laughter. He really did enjoy hearing the verbal spares during some of
these deliveries. Though there was the one time the wife actually tried to kill
the husband and all he had done was said they were almost done. He finally let
out a chuckle at that thought �if you two are done, you might like to know the
head is crowning; you two are going to be parents soon. Now Kagome I need you
to push when I tell you so save the rest of your energy and put it towards
pushing this baby out instead of fighting with your fianc�, okay?�

�Whatever!� she cried as the pain got worse.

�Okay and push!�

She cried out as she pushed.

�Breathe�and push again�

Her grip tightened around the taiyoukai�s hand causing him
to wince at the strength she held in her hand at the current moment.

�Good, good, relax a moment�.and push�

She screamed as the pain got worse.

�Good, one more time the head is almost out�

�No more!� she cried �I don�t want to push anymore!�

Sesshoumaru kissed the hand he held �one more push Kagome,
one more and we can meet our child�

Tears escaped her as she cried �I�m tired and hurt, I don�t
want anymore!�

The doctor growled at her �you only have to push once more,
now push!�

�Arrogant inu youkai!� she yelled as she pushed once more.

There was a moment of silence before a baby cry was heard.
The nurse, who was a panther demon, smiled as she wrapped the newborn up and
brought them over �congratulations, you have a son�

Kagome smiled as she tiredly reached out to take the baby to
have a better look. The baby had silver hair already growing on his head and he
had no claws. Bright blue eyes greeted them briefly before he closed them and
as he slowly stopped crying. Kagome leaned her head against Sesshoumaru�s
shoulder �he�s so cute�

�He looks pretty much human so we won�t have to hide any of
his traits� commented the taiyoukai as he took in the eyes, normal ears and
lacking of strips. He kissed her forehead �I know you�re tired, get some rest�

She gave a nod as she let Sesshoumaru take her son and
instantly fell asleep. The nurses working on cleaning up while the doctor made
some notes �looks like he�s going to be a strong little guy� he commented as he
saw the little one trying to lift up his own head before resting.

The taiyoukai nodded as he saw his son decide to rest
�considering his heritage it would be expected of him�

The doctor chuckled as he removed his face mask to reveal
his fangs �well all inu youkai are naturally strong and therefore superior
compared to most other youkai, aren�t we?�

Sesshoumaru chuckled as well �arrogant creatures we are as
my mate likes to put it�

�Well I�ll allow a few people in the room to see the
newborn, but they can�t stay long� commented the doctor, chuckling �both mother
and infant need their sleep�

The panther youkai walked up to him �I will be back later
when it is time for the baby to feed� she said before walking out the door.

After a few minutes Aksumi and the others walked in.
Everyone slowly approached Sesshoumaru as they saw the bundle in his arms. He
looked at Aksumi �would you like to hold your grandson?�

Aksumi was by his side in a second �you bet I would� and
gently took the little boy from the taiyoukai. Taking a proper look as he
opened his little eyes to look at her she gasped �oh my, isn�t he adorable!�

�I want to see!� said Souta excitedly as he tried jumping to
get a better look.

Sesshoumaru moved and grabbed a chair that was against the
wall; allowing his mother-in-law to sit. As he watched her interaction with his
son he thought about the wedding which was going to be held in two months time.
He and Kagome figured that would give her enough time to heal from having the
baby and they could resume certain activities again. Frankly; he was hoping
sooner than two months. It had already been a month since he�d been with her
since in the last month Kagome was worried what those activities would do to
the baby and had reframed from letting him get too intimate with her.

�So have you two thought of a name?� Jii-chan asked,
bringing the taiyoukai from his thoughts.

Sesshoumaru looked at him with a slight shake of his head
�not yet, Kagome got one of those baby name books, but we found there were so
many names and the ones we did look at we really did not like�

Shippo smiled as he looked at his little brother �well he�s
got your hair dad� he frowned �I�m gonna feel sorry for him growing up everyone
is going to think he has some kind of disease that makes his hair look white�

Sesshoumaru smirked �but when they see my hair they will
simply think it is unique hair coloring�

Shippo pondered this a moment �that or you�re way older than
you look� he retorted earning him a sharp growl.

Aksumi smiled as she stood up and allowed Jii-chan to hold
the baby next. She looked at the dog demon while placing a hand on his shoulder
�I�m sure he is going to grow up to be a handsome young man� she looked back at
the baby �a lot of woman are going to want him�

Kagome opened her eyes to look at them all with a tired
smile �hi everyone�

Aksumi went and held her daughter�s hand �did we wake you?�

�It�s okay, I wanted to see everyone� she smiled as she
glanced at her grandfather holding his great grandson �so, what do you think?�

�He�s beautiful Kagome� she smiled as she kissed her
daughters head �I�m proud of you, you did good�

�Thanks mama� she replied as she looked up at her fianc�
�thanks Sesshoumaru for everything�

He smiled at her and gave a nod. She knew he was talking
about the phone call he had made shortly after he had made her father leave.
Because Aksumi was worried that the man would come back and possibly do something
to harm her family and he knew he couldn�t stay there 24/7 he had placed a
call. The phone call was to his security company which consisted mainly of
demons. He told them to add a new place on the mobile route for both days and
nights which Aksumi was told about while also having a security guard there
24/7 which no one knew about since they remained hidden as ordered. The
taiyoukai wasn�t taking any chances that something could happen. Good thing he
was so cautious because a month of the mobile unit coming by one night it
happened.

The mobile security guard said his good-byes to Aksumi
before departing. An hour after that when everyone had just gone to sleep they
had suddenly been shaken from it as a loud crash from downstairs was heard.
Immediately everyone had come out into the hallway, but Aksumi quickly told
Souta to get back in his room before grabbing a flash light and warily made her
way downstairs. She had heard some noise coming from the kitchen and carefully
made her way there. Quickly she turned on a light and gasped as she saw her
ex-husband on the ground with a demon on top of him. The demon anyone could
easily tell was a bat youkai with his wings folded and was baring his teeth
while holding the man down. Aksumi had been quite shocked, but then she saw the
same badge that the mobile security unit wore and realized he was a security
guard with Sesshoumaru�s company. The bat demon had looked at her and told her
to call the youkai police while he took out his cuffs to bind the man. Thankfully
Sesshoumaru had given her the number and quickly dialed. It turned out the
demons basically had their own connections everywhere so that they didn�t have
to risk humans finding out about them. When the police had shown up they
quickly got statements from the guard and Aksumi while at the same time they
had also found a gun which had been tossed almost completely under the fridge
in the struggle.

With Mr. Higurashi in jail now serving life in prison with a
charge of possession of a weapon and 3 charges of premeditated attempted
murder; life at the Higurashi home got a lot better real quick. Security stayed
24/7 for awhile longer before they slowly slowed down, but Aksumi had the
security guard that saved her life that night over to supper once in awhile.
And every once in awhile had a get together for the youkai police and security
involved since they had been so kind to her.

Jii-chan smiled as he handed the baby to Shippo next �well
we better go� he said as he turned to look at his granddaughter �you should get
some more rest because now your going to be up every night with midnight
feedings�

Kagome groaned �don�t remind me� she then smiled as her mom
kissed her good bye and her grandpa did as well. Her brother merely said he
would see her when she got home before running out the door and telling a nurse
he was an uncle now.

Soon it was quiet in the room as Shippo held the baby �so
what are you guys going to name him?�

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru �could we name him Inuyasha?�

�That would be a strange name for this time and age� he
mentioned before he kissed her head �how about in publish we call him Yasha?�

She smiled �sounds okay to me�

Shippo wrinkled his nose �sounds like a girl�s name�

�Shippo!� she gasped.

�What?� he asked surprised �I�m just saying that it sounds
like a girl�s name�

�Well then what do you suggest we call him in public?� she
snapped a little. She knew most of her irritable behavior was from being tired
because of the delivery, seeing her older son�s behavior on how he ignored her
tone, she guessed he understood.

He was silent a moment �how about just Yash� he suggested as
he handed the baby over to the taiyoukai who gave a nod of agreement.

She smiled �I suppose that could work to�

�Okay then� he smiled �well I�m going to head home so you
can rest� he leaned over to briefly rest his head on her shoulder until he felt
her run her fingers through his hair and sighed as he enjoyed the feel of her
doing that just like she had done when he was a kid. Some things you never grow
tired of he realized. After a minute he stood up and left.

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru who took a seat back down �so
what do you think?�

�I find it hard to believe I am sitting here right now
holding a son of my blood� he said �I never thought in over 500years that I
would have a child of my own blood it never really crossed my mind�

Her eyes softened at his confession �I find it all a little
hard to believe myself� she admitted as she rested her head on the pillow �I
never would have thought I would be the mate of the fierce lord of the west who
struck fear into the hearts of so many or that I would be having his child�

Sesshoumaru stood to pass her their son before sitting down
again; moving the chair closer to her �at least I know my blood will go on
after I leave this world�

She looked at him �you still look like you have many years
left in you�

He smirked at her �not as much as you think� he replied as
his eyes strayed to the floor �know that what I�m about to tell you I did what
I thought was best-�

She placed a hand on his shoulder �I already know
Sesshoumaru, you gave up your immortality when you spent that first night with
me�

His eyes widened slightly as he looked at her �how did you
know?�

She smiled sadly at the thought �Inuyasha told me� she
answered �he wrote me another letter, like he knew I was going to be confused
over my feelings for him and for you and not know what to do. It�s like he knew
all this was going to happen�

�So then you know that I am now going to age at the rate of
a human now?�

She gave a nod �he explained it to me� she frowned at the
one thought that had always bothered her �but because you�re already older than
me, aren�t you going to die years ahead of me?�

He shook his head �no, we shall grow old together and die
together� he took her out reached hand �Shippo has also given up his
immortality�

She gasped �but why, he has not lived nearly as long as you
have�

��He said he did not
want to stay in this world for hundreds of years after you were gone� he
replied �he will age and pass away about the same time as us. He said he did
not mind waiting for a few years of us being apart, but he could not wait
hundreds of years twice�

Kagome nodded in understanding before looking at her son
�but what about Yash? He�ll be left alone�

Sesshoumaru stood up and leaned over to kiss her temple
�he�ll make friends over the years, perhaps other youkai and hanyou. Also he
will have Kouga�s children and Kouga and Ayame themselves. He will be just
fine� he moved to kiss her lips �besides if you are so worried about him being
alone we can always work on giving him some siblings�

�I think you�d enjoy that too much� she said dryly.

�It would be quite enjoyable for us both� he reasoned.

She giggled as she kissed him back with a grin �have I told
you how much I love history?�

He chuckled �many times perhaps when you get home and are
healed you can show me how much you love history�

He kissed her again as he took the baby to lie in the
hospital crib. Life had certainly turned out well for him thanks to Inuyasha
telling him when he would find Kagome and knowing that he too had loved the
girl. He now had a beautiful wife and two wonderful sons. Perhaps next time
they could try to get a girl. He missed having a little girl around to look
after. He smirked as he heard her mumble as she fell asleep about loving
history. He looked out the window at the early morning sky �yes, loving history
is a great thing�

Note: Okay I know
this chapter was very, very late and I�m so sorry! I had every intention of
updating before I moved, but before I knew it I lost time went to Montana for a
family reunion and then literally the day after I returned, I moved! Now I�m
living with my bf and things are great! Haha. Sucky part though I live in a super
small town and I�m lacking internet at the house�hell I don�t even have cable
or phone, so bare with me. Only time I get internet is when my bf brings home
his laptop from work and that isn�t too often. Email and that comes first,
sorry folks, but gotta check my mail. I am still working on writing stories�I
have not stopped writing and I got some cool stories lined up. I think they
will be even better than this one and I�ve made the chapters far longer. So
stick around and I hope you�ll enjoy the stories I�ll add once I get my
internet. Again sorry for the very lateness of this last chapter, did not mean
