Chapter 10
As they entered the fighting room Sesshomaru
and Bankotsu were shocked to see a giant cage being
lowered around the fighting ring.� There
were people packed into the room all the way around the ring.� The noise was almost enough to shatter Sesshomaru�s eardrums.�
Kagome�s friend walked up to them to lead them to the entrance of the
ring.
�Now Kagome I meant what I said, if
anything starts to go wrong I am sending your bodyguards in and the match will
be forfeit.� This guy plays dirty and I will
not see you sent out to the hospital.�
�Don�t worry, I�ll be fine,� she said as he stepped in to
announce the competitors, �Can one of you undo this chain and hold it for me?�
she said pointing to the gold chain around her waist.
Bankotsu immediately stepped forward and
worked the clasp, winding his arm around her waist as he removed his.� He heard Sesshomaru
growl behind him and smirked.� He removed
his arm and put the chain in his pocket.
He kissed her on the cheek, not wanting to miss the chance to
piss of Sesshomaru, �Good luck and we will intervene
if anything happens, money or not.�
As he stepped back he noticed Sesshomaru�s
eyes flash red, �Mercenary you would do good to keep your hands off her.�
�She didn�t seem to mind,� he replied smirking again.
Sesshomaru growled again, �I do, she is mine to
protect and I will not have you groping her.�
Their conversation was cut off as the announcements began,
�Alright everyone, it�s time for the cage fight.� Tonight we have the champion two weeks
running Viper, and the challenger our very own, K!�
The crowd gasped and went silent as they watched Kagome step
into the ring after a six foot burly monster of a man.� Sesshomaru could
hear some of the conversations among the crowd.�
How could he let her in the ring with that monster?� They needed to get her out.� K could be seriously hurt, what was Jiggy thinking?�
There were more comments about beauty and the beast and other things,
but overall the crowd seemed pretty upset that Jiggy
agreed to let her in the ring.
�Jiggy can I have the microphone
for a moment?� Kagome asked, he handed it to her,
�Calm down everyone.� This was my choice,
Jiggy didn�t want me to fight but I insisted.� There is a deal that if anything goes wrong
my bodyguards will pull me out.� Trust me,
precautions were taken since I insisted and I was informed of the risks.� So just support my decision
and if you want to cheer for me.�
Who says a woman can�t fight?�
The crowd started cheering again as Kagome handed the
microphone back to Jiggy.� Many were relieved that precautions were taken, it seemed that many of the people cared for Kagome
deeply.� Who could blame them?� She was kind and caring.� Many of the women were happy that finally
someone was standing up for women�s abilities.�
Jiggy walked out of the ring and closed the
gate.
�There is no rounds in this fight, it�s nonstop, so if you
hear a bell it�s not a round bell it�s the signal to get in there,� he said to
the two men standing looking concerned into the cage, �Understand.�
They both nodded and stepped up to the opening to cage so
they would be ready if needed.� The man
was looking Kagome over with a lustful gaze and licking his lips.
�Hey baby if you wanted near me all you had to do was ask,�
he said winking.
�Sorry, I don�t go for creeps with no manners.� Besides you aren�t even cute enough to turn
my head,� she replied smirking.
�Bitch, you�ll be begging me for mercy by the time this is
over!�
�If I beg right now will you cover that ugly mug.� I know you
cheat, you fight dirty and that�s unappealing.�
Now why don�t you just shut up with the foul language and cocky attitude
it�s pathetic.�
Sesshomaru shook his head smiling a little, that was Kagome telling it like it was.� Bankotsu was almost
laughing, she was a little spitfire, he liked that.� Someone from the crowd approached them.
�You�re K�s bodyguards right?�
They nodded.
�How could you let her do something as dangerous as this.� That man has
sent people to the hospital, he brings weapons.�
Why would you let her go in there knowing you can�t guard her?�
�She�s the boss, and she insisted, besides if anything looks
off we will go in,� Sesshomaru replied leveling his
gaze on the man standing before him.
�Yeah, well know this, if anything happens to K everyone here
will hold both of you responsible.� We
will kill you and then kill that piece of shit.�
�If anything happens to her I will gladly let you kill me,� Bankotsu said from beside Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru nodded his agreement with Bankotsu�s statement.�
The man nodded and walked away.� They
turned their attention back to the cage.�
Kagome was standing in the center facing the man, both waiting for the
signal to begin.� Sesshomaru
studied the man, Viper was definitely a suiting name, he
could tell the man was a snake.� He could
tell this man had no intention of fighting fair.� They both waited in nervous anticipation.
�FIGHT!� the call screamed over the loud speaker.
The man sprung at Kagome swinging at her as he went.� She easily ducked out of the way and punched
the man in the stomach.� The momentum
from his lunge made the punch that much harder.�
He doubled over for a second clutching his stomach.� The crowd cheered even louder.� The man quickly recovered and kicked toward
her side.� She flipped over the leg and
took her stance again.� The man�s face
turned red with anger as he punched again.
Kagome dodged the blow.�
He swung again and she easily spun out of the way.� She brought her fist up and punched him in
the jaw making him take a step back.� He
spit out a little blood and glared at her.�
She just smirked and waited for his next strike.� He ran right at her and she ducked
straightening after he made contact with her shoulder.� He flipped over her landing on his back hard.
�Bitch!�
He ran towards her and she ran at the fence.� She jumped up and kicked off the fence using
the rebound to spin and kick him in the side of the head.� By now the crowd was going wild cheering
Kagome on.� Most of them were happy to see
that asshole finally get what he deserved.�
The man regained his balance and suddenly pulled a whip from his belt
loops.� He quickly lashed toward her,
rage burning in his eyes at the thought of this tiny bitch beating him.
Kagome dropped to the ground on her toes and hands.� He swung again and she pushed up the whip
zipping under her as she flew up in the air.�
The crowd started yelling in outrage.�
What kind of man needed a whip to fight a girl half his size?� Kagome saw that Jiggy
was about to stop the fight.
�No!� she yelled, �I can take him, weapon or not, do not
interfere.�
�You are not going to beat me.� Now I am going to kill you.�
When he swung again Kagome caught it and smirked at the
shocked expression on the man�s face.�
The crowd started to cheer again.�
Sesshomaru fought himself to keep from going
in there.� How dare that coward draw a
weapon on Kagome when she had none?� Bankotsu was also fuming at the man�s cowardice.� They both wanted to go in there and beat the
man to a pulp but restrained themselves, for now.
The man yanked on the whip trying to free it from Kagome�s
grasp.� Kagome held firm and turned to
kick the man in the chest.� He flew back
losing his grip on the whip.� Kagome
gathered it and tossed it over the top of the cage.� The man glared at her standing back up.� He still had a few tricks up his sleeve.� He pulled a knife out of his pocket hiding it
with his arm and charged her again.
Kagome saw the glint of silver and figured what he was
planning.� He swung his arm to the side
so that the blade could cut her with the swing.�
She ducked bringing her leg up to kick the arm.� He managed to hold onto the knife and keep it
hidden, taking another swing.� She
flipped over him and kicked him in the back of the knee.� When he fell to his knees she grabbed him in
a headlock.� He brought his arm up trying
to cut her yet again, but she jumped back.
He was getting really pissed, this
girl was making him look like a fool.� He
threw caution to the wind and threw the knife directly at her.� Most people didn�t know it, but he was a pro
at throwing knives.� The crowd yelled when
they realized that he had been attacking with a knife.� They all gasped in shock when they saw the
blade flying straight for Kagome.� She
caught the blade about an inch from her face.�
The man�s jaw dropped, how did she do that?
She threw the knife to the mat embedding it to the hilt.� Now she was pissed, this man was scum and she
was done playing games.� She walked
toward him and punched him in the face making him take a step back.� He started swinging back.� She blocked and punched so fast that it was
hard to keep up.� She still made it look
like she was an ordinary human, but this man was definitely going down.� She continued to rain punches on his head,
chest and stomach.� He tried kicking and
she easily avoided it.
She kicked back landing it square in his chest, he fell back
into the fence and glared at her.� He
pushed off the fence and charged her rage consuming him.� She ducked the blow and punched him in the
stomach then gave him an uppercut to the jaw as he started to double over.� He flew up a bit and landed on his back a few
feet away.
�You fucking bitch!�
You�ll pay for that!� he yelled.
�Bitch huh?� Well then
I guess I�ll show you a real bitch move,� she replied smirking.
He went at her again and she kneed him in the crotch as hard
as she could, then grabbed the sides of his head with
both her hands.� She slammed his head
down and raised her knee, slamming his face into her knee hard enough to break
bone.� She heard a satisfying crunching
noise and the man fell to the ground unconscious.� When it was clear that it was a knock out Jiggy came into the ring and took her hand.
�The winner by knock out and the new champion, K!� he yelled
excitedly as he raised her hand into the air.
The crowd erupted into loud cheers and whistles.� All of them glad to see Viper get his ass
kicked.� Sesshomaru
and Bankotsu entered the ring.
�What are you going to do with this man.� He tried to kill her.� He brought a knife into the ring even though
the rules state no weapons?� Sesshomaru demanded
looking down at the man.
�Oh I have a feeling that the crowd has plans for him,� Jiggy replied as he saw the malicious looks on their faces.
They all left the ring leaving the man unconscious on the
mat.� The cage was raised and they could
hear people running toward the ring. �Angry voices could be heard loud and clear
speaking of plans for the worthless bastard.�
Sesshomaru smirked,
he liked the way this place worked.� Bankotsu also smirked, he wished he could join the crowd in
there but decided not to.� The man would
get it, he would just stick with Kagome.
They followed Jiggy into an office
in the back and watched as he gave Kagome money for her performance, then went
through counting her winnings for the fight.�
When he handed it all to her she divided it in half and handed it to
him.� He tried to tell her it wasn�t
necessary but she insisted.� Finally Jiggy gave in and took the money, locking it in his safe.
�I need to get supplies now Jiggy,�
she said handing the money to Sesshomaru to hold.
�Ok I�ll lead you downstairs,� Jiggy
replied getting up from behind the desk.
He waited until they were all out of the room then locked
it.� He led them downstairs then bid
Kagome a good night and left.� Sesshomaru and Bankotsu looked
around at the new surroundings.� It
looked like a market, but it was definitely not food they were selling.� Kagome lead the way to a table in the back
where an older looking man sat.
�Hey, Miatsu,� she said.
The man turned immediately, �K, how are you doing?�
�Doing good, I need to stock.�
How have you been?� How�s your
wife?� she replied hugging the man.
�She�d not doing so good, she needs
surgery, but I can�t afford it,� he replied sadly as he gathered her supplies.
Kagome smiled sadly at him.�
You would think he would make a lot of money doing this, but that was
not the case.� When he turned and handed
her the large bag with the pain killers, muscle relaxants, and syringes she
took the bag then handed him all of the money she won from the fight.
�K, you gave me way too much.�
Your supplies are not even a fraction of this,� he said looking
confused.
�I know, the rest is for your wife�s
surgery.� It should be enough for that
and any follow up visits or anything.�
Take care.�
A tear trailed down Miatsu�s cheek,
�Thank you K.� This means a lot to me,�
he hugged her tightly to show how much he appreciated it.
K was an angel.� How
many people gave up that much money to help someone out?� Now his wife could get that surgery and he
wouldn�t lose her.� He felt his heart
swell in his chest and his body shook as he sobbed.� He had hope
again.� Sesshomaru
and Bankotsu watched in aw.� This girl was so caring and selfless, she had just given up a lot of money and saved
this man�s wife.��
The man locked up the money and thanked Kagome again.� Kagome nodded and they all turned to
leave.� It was easy enough to get back
out of the building.� They walked back to
Kagome�s house in silence, the night air cooling them.� Bankotsu carried
the bag for Kagome wondering what kind of supplies it was.� All she said was medical supplies, but why
did they have to go to a place like that to get it?
Sesshomaru walked at Kagome�s other side deep
in thought about all he had seen.� This
world was so different than his.� He was
curious about many things, but he would ask later.� The music he heard tonight was different and
interesting at the same time.� He was
fascinated with this world, the buildings, the means of transportation,
everything.� They made it back to Kagome�s
house and she took the bag to take to her room while the men went to change
into their clothes.
When she was done she called and ordered pizza and soda so
they could eat before bed.� Plus the men
might like to try something different.�
She met them back in the living room and sat on the couch between them
turning on the TV. �They sat in silence
watching a movie on TV for about half an hour when Kagome heard the doorbell
ring.� Sesshomaru
and Bankotsu looked at each other questioningly.�
They heard the door open and Kagome talking to someone.� A few minutes later she returned to the room
carrying a few boxes and bottles.� She
set them on the coffee table and started opening the boxes.� She pulled some cups out of the cupboard in
the kitchen then went back and sat down.�
She poured them each a drink.
�Well dinner is here so chow down,� she said picking up a
piece of pizza.
Both men watched her for a minute curious about this
food.� What was this?� Finally they both decided to try it.� Kagome almost laughed when she saw the looks
on their faces as they took their first bite.�
They literally started to chow down, they ate
so fast that she was completely shocked.�
It was some of the best food they had ever tried and the drink was odd
yet delicious.
�� Kagome was happy that they enjoyed it
and she knew that the looks on their faces would never leave her.� She watched as they continued to eat.� She noticed that Sesshomaru
kept glancing at her and smiled.� He was
nothing like what she used to think.� He
truly was a mystery to her.
