Chapter Ten

The days after his talk with Yuki passed by without incident and things settled into a routine comprised of spending time with InuYasha and Yuki together and the demon lord found it oddly pleasent. Sesshomaru watched the pup with keen interest wondering what kind of demon he would turn into however he knew that as the pup grew his appearence would greatly resemble his own and Yuki was already intelligent enough to figure out that Sesshomaru was also his father. It was only a matter of time. Sesshomaru sat in his office when he heard a knock.
"Enter" and Jaken entered giving his lord a low bow.
"Sesshomaru sama the Lord and Lady of the West are due to arrive in a couple of hours. I have sent a car to pick them up"
Sesshomaru nodded; grateful that the toad had used his small brain for once in his life.
"Well done I am pleased. Dismissed"
Jaken bowed once more and scurried out; wanting to stay on his Lord's good side. There was another knock and the door opened to reveal InuYasha standing in the doorway; looking slightly worse for wear. Sesshomaru beckoned him over and InuYasha obeyed his normally cheerful face was now pale and he looked slightly green. Sesshomaru gazed at his mate in concern as he approached and pulled him on his lap; wrapping his arms around him as InuYasha rested his head on his shoulder.
"How are you feeling?" he asked earning himself a scowl.
"Shit" was his reply as the urge to vomit slowly crept back making the poor hanyou groan. Sesshomaru rubbed his ears which normally InuYasha loved but now it just irritated him as a growl was heard. That sick feeling was getting worse before suddenly InuYasha pushed himself off his brothers lap and proceeded to vomit into the closest thing; the waste paper basket. Sesshomaru grimiced at the sight as the stench reached his sensitive nose. He leaned closer and rubbed his brother's back in comfort and sympathy. Slowly InuYasha turned to face his brother. Sesshomaru picked up a tissue and handed it over to his mate who accepted it gratefully as he wiped his face.
"We should get you checked over love this has been happening quite a bit recently" stated Sesshomaru whilst InuYasha groaned once more and vomitted once more into the basket. A smirk appeared on his face as the scent of pregnant demon filled his nostrils. He would now have his heir but he would keep this fact from his mate till he had been checked over; wanting a confirmation of what he had already knew. He handed his brother another tissue before pulling his brother into his arms; carrying him out of his office and leaving the office to take his mate to rest. He passed Jaken on the way.
"Jaken I want you to clean my office and make sure the vomit smell is not there when I return. Also I want you to get me a new waste paper basket; my previous one is ruined" Sesshomaru ordered with the toad bowing.
"Of course my Lord" he said before walking off.
"Oh and Jaken fail me and I will kill you" this made the toad scurry a lot faster making the demon lord chuckle slightly at the sight as he continued his way to their room. He entered their room and gently laid his mate of the bed pulling the covers over him giving him a light kiss on his forehead.
"Just rest my mate. I'll bring a bowl for you in case it happens again and then I'll get you something light for you" assured Sesshomaru as he found a bowl and placing it down beside the bed. InuYasha nodded slowly still feeling queasy.
"Thanks" he muttered before falling asleep and with a final kiss on his mate's forehead he left the room. He passed a maid and gave her strict instructions that InuYasha was not to be disturbed and once he was awake that he was to give him something light for his stomach. The maid curtsied and lowered her head as Sesshomaru walked off.
The day passed by as InuYasha slept on tossing slightly; his stomach feeling moderately better as he slowly sat up. He pushed the covers off him as he got to his feet and leaving the room where a maid was waiting for him.
"Can I help you? Would you like some toast?" she asked giving him a warm smile.
"Yes please I'll be in the family room down the hall" he replied. The maid curtsied and obeyed as InuYasha made his way to the family room he had mentioned where he found his mother and son. Izayoi gave her son a concerned expression as he made his way over; sitting down beside her and laying his head over her lap were she began to stroke his ears.
"How are you feeling?" she asked softly.
"Horrid" he replied keeping his language clean with Yuki close by. Yuki stopped what he was doing and quietly approached his papa who didn't look well.
"Papa are you ok?" he asked tentatively as his papa smiled as warmly as he could.
"Don't worry about me pup but this is nothing. I'll be fine soon. No stomach bug will keep me down" he said assuring his young son that he was ok when in truth he was in fact the opposite. He hadn't been like this for a long time and he hated it. InuYasha rubbed his son's small ears and lifted his legs onto the settee and allowed Yuki up who curled close to his papa. The scene was sweet and showed that the three were a family that was strong with nothing able to break them apart. The only thing that ruined the picture was the fact that InuYasha was feeling ill. The maid entered the room with some toast which InuYasha accepted gratefully as he slowly ate. The toast was eventually finished and the empty plate taken away as another presence entered.
"Uncle Kouga" shouted Yuki who rushed over towards the wolf who scooped the pup in his arms in a strong hug.
"Missed you" Yuki said as he wrapped his arms around the wolf's neck.
"Missed you too squirt. Are you looking after your papa?" he asked.
"Yes I'm being a good boy" Yuki said as he beamed at one of his uncles. Kouga ruffled the top of his head.
"That's good. Your papa needs someone like you watching over him"
This earned him a growl from his friend who wasn't amused by those words.
"Shut it dog breath. It's just a stomach bug but once its over I'll kick your stinking ass" InuYasha warned however Kouga being a full demon knew the real reason behind his friend's illness; not that he would let on; no he'd leave that to his mate who would be more than aware of it.
"Hey Yuki want to hang out with your uncle Kouga?" InuYasha asked while Yuki nodded.
"Mom can you go with them I just want to be alone for a while?" Izayoi looked at her son and nodded giving him a final scratch behind the ear she joined her gandson and Kouga and the three of them left the room. InuYasha sighed as he closed his eyes; he body settled on the settee as fatigue set in. Unfortunately his peace and quiet didn't last long as another presence entered the room; one that InuYasha still was uncertain about however he was now doomed to have to deal with for the rest of his life. Sesshomaru swiftly strode over to where his mate lay and knelt infront as he tenderly stroked his ears.
"Can't you leave me alone?" InuYasha asked grumbling but made no move to push Sesshomaru away. Sesshomaru smirked.
"I believe I've left you alone for long enough my mate besides you have been ill and it's my duty as your mate and alpha to take care of you"
"Whatever"
"Have you eaten something?"
InuYasha nodded in response. Sesshomaru gave his mate a fleeting smile as the scent of his recent pregnant mate whafted close to his nose; the pups his mate held within would be strong he could already sense that. His smile widened at the thought and how proud he was that the mate he had chosen was strong even with his being a hanyou; he made Sesshomaru proud which was something he never thought would be possible.
"You know I've not been ill since...."
Sesshomaru gazed at his mate who had began to speak before stopping mid sentence as his hand touched his soon to be swollen stomach. There eyes met however there was a knock at the door.
"Enter"
Jaken soon entered the room and bowed lowly at his lord.
"The Lord and Lady of the West have arrived milord and wish to see you both"
Sesshomaru nodded and dismissed Jaken before returning his attention to InuYasha who looked at him wanting some answers.
"This discussion will have to wait till later. It is best not to keep them waiting" and with that strode out with an angered hanyou close behind; his stomach ache forgotten in his pursuit of his mate. A familiar scent filled his nostrils and he saw Sesshomaru enter another of the various family rooms and his eyes widened at the sight of his father standing there. He looked around and saw Lady InuKimi sitting close to his father and she elegantly sipped her tea; a mischevious looked graced her angelic face.
"My my your mate is certainly fertile. I do hope you'll be able to cope" she said a wicked smile appearing as her sharp amber eyes fixed on InuYasha.
"I mean considering he carries twins I hope you have been taking good care of him"
"InuKimi" Inu no Tashio growled out in warning.
"Hag I aint carrying, it's just a bug that's all"
"Denial is an ugly thing besides the scent is strong. You are indeed carrying. You are lucky that you are so fertile; there are others who would wish they were as lucky as you"
InuYasha grabbed Sesshomaru's arm pleading with his mate that InuKimi was lying however what Sesshomaru said churned his stomach.
"Is it a bad thing to be carrying my heir's?"
InuYasha glared at him.
"What about Yuki?" he questioned and he heard Sesshomaru sigh.
"As long as he proves himself worthy he shall be rewarded and that's the end of it. Besides it's not my choice; it's father's. He has to accept the pup into this family and announce that you are now here not as my brother but as my mate with Yuki as my ward. That is how it has to be" InuYasha's ears dropped as he let go of Sesshomaru's arm. Without saying a word he walked out of the room wanting to get away from the three of them. Sesshomaru attempted to follow however his father gazed darkly at his son.
"Leave him be. He needs time to let things settle in his mind. Just give him time and he'll come around" Inu no Tashio spoke wisely as the three of them began talking about the future events to come.
Chapter ten is finished. Sorry it took so long but I had a bit of a block and been doing work. Hope you enjoy this update. I have also recently discovered Blue Exorcist and recommend it to everyone. Its a brilliant mix of supernatural, comedy, fighting and all the things that make an anime great. My top characters are Rin Mephisto, Amaimon.
