Cha: Th: The Last Jewel Shard

Kagome limping her
nude blood covered body hurting badly. She did not stop for shew shw she had to
get to the base. She had to or they would be doomed. Her breaths were shaky and
deep as if she were ready to fall over dead.

She stopped when getting to the once
city. All that was left was ash and fires. She saw a young woman lying on the
ground by a plot that had once been a building but was now a bunch of ash and
metal. She slowly went over and grabbed the woman’s side and turned her over to
find her face and throat had been ripped to pieces by her once love. Blood
covered the front of the young woman’s kimono but Kagome could careless about
that. She pulled it off and pulled it around herself.

An hour or so of
running through the burning city was like a hell. Weak screams and cries of
pain came from within the burning buildings still but Kagome knew she could not
stop to help for she had a bunch bigger task on hand plus most of them would
die of their burns anyways. Her bare feet beat the hard ground leaving bloody
footprints.

Soon she stopped in
pure shock and horror. There stood the tall building that held the base. Flames
and smoke hung out the black windows and screams came from those inside. The
roof and a few floors below it were the only ones not burning. She ran fast as
she could once seeing this and came to a stop when at the foot of the building.

A sudden black and
red figure fell from the roof of the huge glass building. It landed in front of
Kagome with a smirk across its face. It was Inu-Yasha. He was covered in the
blood of humans. Kagome let out a gasp and backed away her face had lost all
color. Fear made her soon freeze as Inu-Yasha grabbed her by the Kimono.

“Give the shard to
me wench.” He said with a sickening sound in his voice. She looked at the necklace
around his neck. It had almost the whole jewel of four souls on it but one
shard was missing. “Y-You took mine…” Kagome said silently shaking. He punched
her in the face upon the cheek. “TELL ME!” He ordered. “I don’t have them!!!” She
cried out.

“KAGOME!!!” A mans voice
called from in the forest. “KAGOME! SIS! WHERE ARE YOU?” He cried out. It was
Sota. His eyes were full of worry for his sister. He didn’t want to loose
another family Member to that beast Inu-Yasha. He wouldn’t allow it! He moved
quickly through the forest his eyes looking every which way.

He was soon out of
the forest and in a clearing. His eyes came upon the blood on the grass and a
pile of ripped up clothing. He ran over and got on his knees and his eyes went
wide. “T-These are Kagome’s… No… He killed her… But wait… Where lay her body?
It must be around her…” He silently looked around but there was no body. All
there were was small blood drops on the grass. He slowly started to follow
them.
