Chapter 10 ~ Swaying From The Rain

The hanyou folded his arms into his sleeves, pulling his legs onto the seat Indian-style. His ear twitched at the word ‘lovers,’ but he remained silent while waiting for her to continue.
She looked thoughtful for a moment, eyes locked on the lights and moving figures on the other side of the glass window pane. A slender finger twirled a black curl around it absent-mindedly. “Orihime was the Sky king, Tentei’s, daughter.” Kagome began, her hands dropping to her lap and folding in a lady-like manor. She continued to stare outside. "She wove beautiful robes for her father while sitting on the bank of the Amanogawa. Day after day though, Tentei watched his only daughter grow sadder and sadder. Orihime was scared that making the beautiful clothes would cause her to never meet her true love. The king-"
“How would the clothes make her not meet a guy?” Inuyasha interjected. Kagome sighed and turned her eyes on him, but then smiled gently; contented with the fact that it wasn’t all going in one ear and out the other.
“If she spent her days making the clothes, ‘Yash, how would she go out and meet men?”
“Oh! Okay.” The hanyou’s light bulb went off and he nodded. Suddenly, the car lurched and they both nearly toppled over when it began moving higher around the wheel. Lights, people shrunk a bit outside, but their gaze held until the ride stopped and then the pair both sneaked a quick peek out at the view before turning back to each other. “Why’d you sit over there?” He asked when their eyes met again. She visibly tensed.
“’Cause . . . Um . . . Habit?”
“You ride this that much?” Inuyasha mumbled, dropping his legs to the ground. He leaned forward to grab her sleeves, tugging her towards him. Hesitant at first, she bit her lip but went. The hanyou wasn’t sure why she was being withdrawn. This morning, he couldn’t tell who was kissing who. Now, she was limiting their contact to holding hands.
“Inuyasha . . .” She protested as the hanyou situated her between his legs and pulled her back against the hard wall of his chest. Just what was he trying to do?
“The story,” He growled into her ear. His arms locked around her tiny waist, trapping her; Kagome forced her body to relax into his.
“Um . . . true love . . .” Mind completely blank, the poor girl realized she had no idea where she was in the story anymore. Frantically, the miko fell into silence while desperately attempting to form a follow-up sentence. Behind her, she felt the hanyou’s chest rumble in a suppressed chuckle.
“The clothe-maker girl was sad. The king . . .” Inuyasha’s helpful murmur made her remember, but her breath caught when his those speaking lips brushed gently against the rapidly beating pulse point in her neck. “Do you-“
“Y-Yeah. The king arranged for her to meet Hikoboshi, a- Ah!” One of the arms that was oh-so innocently wrapped around around the brain-dead girl, moved up and the hand roughly caught a breast in time with his sharp fangs harshly nipping at her sensitive flesh. “I-Inuyasha . . .” Kagome whimpered when he pulled back slightly, feeling his breath fan out over her skin.
“Story.” He said solidly. The relentless hanyou yielded slightly though. Instead of biting, he went to work kissing the goosebump-freckled skin of the responsive woman's neck while his wandering hand found it's way to her collar.
The ride jerked again, moved around a short distance, then stopped.
“He was a c-cow-” The miko swallowed when the pads of his fingers met the skin of her chest and began trailing downward, pushing the fabric away as it went. “Herder on the other side of the Amanogawa. The two fell in love and got married very quickly. It wasn't long before they . . . Oh . . .” Kagome's words came out in a rush, slowing to an abrupt stop. Inuyasha’s hand had begun kneading her breast, the claw of his index finger lightly scraping the tip of her nipple. Unconsciously, she found herself pushing into his hand.
“I wonder if I could make you cum before the ride is over.” His husky voice and choice of words didn't help her mind get any closer to dominating the inner war she was having against her body's desires. Already, creamy heat had begun to pool in her lower regions.
“I- But- Inuyasha . . .” Kagome groaned, feeling his other hand slide over her belly to the sash around her waist. He paused, fingers playing with the edge of the cloth, then, in one tug, it came undone and her whole outfit loosened. She wanted to get mad at him for messing up her costume, but the idea of why he did it made her bite her lip.
“Spread your legs for me.” The command caused a sudden surge of lust in the young woman, and she obediently complied. With her submission, Inuyasha didn't bother to hesitant anymore and the miko didn't even think to stop his hand from it's invasion of her hakama. It slid over her abdomen and straight into her panties, cupping her sex. Slowly, the hanyou pressed his palm down on her woman's mound and a think finger, mindful of it's sharp, clawed tip, gently parted her slick folds. He was surprised to find her as wet as he did. “Very sensitive . . .” Inuyasha growled into her ear. The hand on her breast resumed it's ministrations, and she let her head fall back onto his shoulder, turning it to hide her face in the crook of his neck. Little, rapid puffs of hot breath hit his skin and he grinned. Not long at all . . .
His finger ceasing it's lazy stroking, he dragged the digit up and pressed the pad to her little nub, beginning to roll it in slow circles. Her hips jerked and a strangled moan escaped her lips.
Again the ride moved. Making sure not to skip in his rhythm, Inuyasha shot a quick glance out the window. They were at the top. A few minutes left.
Kagome was trembling. She could feel the familiar pressure of an on-coming orgasm skitter through her belly. Eyes squeezed shut, the miko buried her face further into his neck, attempting to muffle another, much louder moan.
Inuyasha increased his speed, relentlessly tormenting the sensitive, little nub. His own breathing quicken slightly with the sweet, over-whelming scent of her arousal, he growled. The little erection he had from before had turned to a full hard-on and it was all he could do to keep from ripping both their clothes off and finishing it with her bending over the seat across from them. He tried to keep his focus on his fingers. Inuyasha slowed his movements, then slid the source of her pleasure to her slippery entrance, pausing, causing her to groan out her protest at the loss of stimulation through gritted teeth. The hanyou ignored the wiggle of her hips and, at an agonizingly slow pace and with infinite gentleness, slid his finger into the tight passage. They both sucked in a breath.
“’Yash . . .” The miko murmured into his neck, trying to get him to finish what he had started, “You won’t hurt me . . . Please . . .”
The ride had begun to move again, but neither noticed. It rolled right over the top of the wheel and stopped just at the other side of the arc.
Inuyasha hesitated and then began to pump the finger in and out of her wet cavern, setting her right back on the track to her orgasm. That seemed to spur him. After a few more thrusts, he added a second finger.
Kagome moved her hips along with him as best she could in her position and felt something poke at her lower back. She realized he was excited as well. She hoped he wouldn't try to go all the way. Suddenly, it felt as if the only thing keeping her grounded was her white-knuckled grip on Inuyasha's pants. He rode her through it, not stopping until she went limp and fell against him with a shaky breath.
Again the wheel turned. It was almost over.
“Are you alright?” He asked, his voice still thick with restrained passion. The hanyou felt her nod and gently removed his hands from her shaken body, pleased to see her juices coating the tips of his fingers. He brought them to his lips, cleaning each in turn. But now, with Kagome's scent in his nose, her moans in his ears, and, ultimately, her taste on his tongue it seemed like nothing would help soothe the throbbing bulge in his hakama. Inuyasha was going to have another blue-ballin' night to look forward to.
Normally, the thought would not excite him in the least, but making her cum completely satisfied him in a way that made suffering another few hours until he got a cold shower worth it.
“Oh . . . I don't know if I'm going to be able to stand up. My arms and legs feel like noodles.” Kagome finally spoke, leaning forward, resting her elbows on her knees.

The ride lurched and both of their heads turned at the same towards the window. The people below slowly grew in size and Kagome shot up out of her seat, feverently fumbling with the ribbon at her waist. Inuyasha readjusted himself, somewhat hiding his arousal and then stood up, gently moving her hands out of the way.
“Calm down, Kags.” He chuckled, swearing he could even hear her heart pounding against her breast bone. She dropped her hands and let him fix her clothes. When he stopped with the tie and tilted her chin up, she let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding through gently parted lips, her eyes still slightly glazed over with lust . The hanyou growled, roughly capturing her lips. She yielded and leaned into it, shivering when he sucked her lower lip into his mouth and sucked it like a piece of candy.
Then the door to the cab swung open and the two quickly ended the kiss. The miko's flushed face dropped and she stared at the ground while Inuyasha steered her out by her shoulders. A young demon with spikey, black hair threw his head back and sniffed the air as they trailed past him. Like a predator who caught whiff of his prey, his face whipped towards Kagome, causing Inuyasha to snarl at him as he walked by. The demon growled back, evidently challenging the hanyou, but when Kagome reached up and placed her hand on his, Inuyasha resorted to one last glare and kept following her, small growls reverberating up from his chest.
“What was that about?” She asked, when they entered a less crowded area.
“He smelled you.” Inuyasha grumbled, repositioning himself at her side, his arms once again folding into his sleeves. The miko dropped her gaze.
“Oh.”
The hanyou took in a deep breath through his nose. “It's not bad now.” He said reassuringly, he himself satisfied that is wasn't as noticeable outside in comparison to that little car they were in earlier. He didn't wanna have to hurt someone with her watching.
Silence passed between them when their thoughts cancelled out their words.
“It was . . .” Kagome started, not knowing how to phrase her next statement, so she quieted again and Inuyasha smirked. They both knew what it was and neither had to say a word more about it. Actions speak louder than words anyway and there would be many more actions later on, especially if Inuyasha had his way about things.
Amber orbs snaked away from the dirt road and booths ahead of him to the raven-haired woman's face. Her cheeks still flushed, eyes sparkling in the dim lantern light, he couldn't come up with any words to describe how gorgeous she was. That produced a spark of anger. How could he tell her just what he thought of her when no adjectives were in existence correct enough to describe her?
Kagome hadn't been paying much attention to anything except her thoughts, but dared a quick peek at Inuyasha, when her gaze turned on him, sapphire clashed with solid amber. The intense look on his face made her feel like she had to say something, so a stuttered, “W-What?” bubbled up from her lips.
“Wondering who the asshole was who came up with all the adjectives.” He mumbled. The hanyou tore his gaze away and glanced up at the black sky, hoping the rumble he heard in the distance wasn't rain. He didn't see stars so there was cloud cover, but earlier Kagome had made it clear that rain was NOT supposed to happen. He sniffed. Yup. The scent was there too. The hanyou inwardly groaned when another, louder rumble sounded. Uh oh. Did she hear it? Could he get her somewhere before it rained? He glanced down at the young woman again, but she was still looking up at him with her distorted expression that blatantly said, 'What the fuck?' Inuyasha's following sigh ended with an amused grin.
“I'll tell you later.” He looked around. It was hard to tell where they were with all the side attractions and random decorations. “Where are we, do you know?”
“Hm . . .” Kagome mimicked Inuyasha and began looking around, spotting a street sign right up ahead. The name was beyond familiar. “Yeah. Mom, Souta, and Grandpa still live in the shrine. It's right around there.” She pointed to a corner.
Inuyasha furrowed his brows, and thought for a moment. “Wanna drop by?”
“What?” Kagome asked, obviously surprised by his proposal. “Um, why?”
“Why not?” He countered, turning down the street she had pointed to earlier. She hung back, her eyes clearly showing the inner battle she was having.
“Please?” Inuyasha said loudly when another loud rumble made her turn towards the noise and look up at the sky.
“Was that thunder?”
“No?” He asked, but it was more a question that a solid, 'no.'
“Oh no!” She wailed, throwing her hands up. Inuyasha's ears flattened. 'Here it comes . . . ' He thought, mentally cringing.
“If it rains then I am so screwed! What the hell! How is everything going wrong?! This was supposed to be-”
“Your perfect year.” Inuyasha finished dully, rolling his eyes. She wheeled on him so fast that, for a moment, he considered checking her for whiplash.
“Yes, it was, Inuyasha! Everything is-”
“Not happening the way you planned! Yeah! I get it!” He snapped, raising his voice more than he intended to. Her eyes flashed and the miko took a step toward him.
“No! You don't!”
“Yeah, I do! I'm fucking up everything! Goddamn! Saw-Ree!” The hanyou growled, his glare challenging hers.
Kagome felt like ripping her hair out. Was he serious? Did he really think it was just about him? “Ugh! Seriously?!” She began stalking toward him, one hand pointing threateningly at his face, the other cemented to her hip. “I tried to tell you the story on the ride but you were too busy thinking with your dick!”
“Oh, like you weren't just as into it as I was!” He shot back, squaring his shoulders.
“That's not the point! You wanted to tell the story and I never even got to finish and tell you why this meant so much to me!”
“Well, you have time now! Go on! Say it!”
“It's too late now! It's raining!”
Inuyasha tore his gaze away long enough to experimentally stick his hand out to feel for the alleged rain. And, sure enough, it was starting to sprinkle. He sighed, relaxing, allowing his shoulders to droop and his gaze to fall back on the upset woman in front of him. For a moment, neither said a word, just stood there. It seemed like the water had put out the fire and turned it to steam. Kagome had begun to study the ground and Inuyasha stared at the street sign while the rain picked up around them.
Kagome sniffed and Inuyasha smelled the marine tinge to the air. She brought her watery eyes up just as he was bringing his down on her. People were starting to scuttle about around them, barely brushing by. Inuyasha sincerely felt bad for the poor, unfortunate soul that knocked him or Kagome even a centimeter out of place. He would be on them before they even knew what hit them. “It's not you.” She murmured.
“Then why do you keep saying everything is wrong?” He ground out, his blood still simmering.
The miko was taken aback. He really was worried about it being him that she was talking about. Taking his hand, she maneuvered around him and tugged the sulking half demon towards the last corner before her house, dodging bustling people. “Let's go over there, I'll explain on the way.”

“So, if it rains on the seventh, you won't meet the person you are supposed to be with for another year?” Inuyasha asked, making sure he was hearing her right. She honestly believed in this superstitious bullshit? He tried his best not to snort.
Women.
Kagome paused right before the top of the steps to the Higurashi shrine and looked as if she was overly-analyzing his summary of the legend. “Yeah.” She concluded, hopping up the last few stairs and back to her place at his side. “Pretty much.”
It was now pouring rain and both of them were soaked to the bone because of the thick sheets falling around them. Inuyasha hurried her along, worried she was going to catch anemonia and half dragged her to the front door. When Kagome pulled it open, cold air and the smell of cookies hit them full fource.
“Kagome?” Souta, who was on his way downstairs, stopped on the steps and looked quizzically at his sister, then his eyes moved to the sopping wet man in red behind her. “And . . . Inuyasha?”
“Souta, honey? Who are you tal- Kagome?” Her mother appeared from the kitchen and got a good look at the sight before ordering Souta to grab a few towels and hurry back. She rushed the wet couple into the house, but wouldn't let them move off the welcome mat until the teenage boy returned with the towels, then she moved the party to living room. They all sat down and Mrs. Higurashi instantly began to interrogate them.
“Kagome, honey, why are you and Inuyasha here?” She asked, seating herself in an old chair across from her daughter and the hanyou. “Not that I don't appreciate the visit, but . . .” Kagome's mother politely cross her legs before looking at them for an answer.
“We were at the Tanabata festival and it started raining . . . We were close by so, we figured we'd drop in!” The miko said cheerfully. Her mother wasn't satisfied with just that, she continually glanced at the man accompanying her eldest child before asserting her next question. “Why did you two go together?”
“Well, we saw-”
“We live together.” The first words out of Inuyasha's mouth since they had been in the house made Kagome, her mother, and Souta all turn to look at him at once. Her mother raised her eye brows in surprise while the miko's jaw hit the floor.
“Well, I wasn't expecting that . . .” Her mother stated, clearing her throat politely before getting to her feet. She exited the room and left the three in a stunned silence. Kagome's right hook connected with the hanyou's arm and Inuyasha growled.
“What was that for?”
“Why would you tell her that?!”
“Whoa, Kagome you're marrying Inuyasha!? That's so cool!”
“Wha- No!”
“Feh!”
Everyone got quiet when Mrs. Higurashi came back in the room with some of Kagome's father's old PJ's and one of her old night gowns and handed them to Inuyasha.
“I don't see why you guys can't stay the night. You don't have a car and it's raining, just sleep in Kagome's old room.”
“But- Mama!”
“Oh, Kagome if you guys live together then what's the big deal? Hush now, go get some dry clothes on and I'll come to get the wet ones in a bit.” Her mother smiled and returned to the kitchen while Souta began fumbling with his newest game box. Inuyasha and Kagome both looked at one another, as if silently asking one another who was going to make the first move to go up the stairs. The hanyou nodded towards the steps and the miko shook her head furiously. He tried again, but this time she glared back at him and folded her arms over her chest. So, finally deciding enough was enough, Inuyasha stood up and picked Kagome up and bent her over his shoulder.
“C'mon, Kags.”
“Inuyasha! Put me down!”
“Nope.”
“Inuyasha!”
As the hanyou hauled the miko up to her old room, her heard her mother snickering silently from her place in the kitchen. Obviously, she knew something they didn't. Never in his life had the mother of a girl he dated left them alone. Kagome's mom, on the other hand, seemed to make excuses for them to be alone. Just like now. He'd always wondered about that.
When he reached the room, he set Kagome, who had been pulverizing his back with her fists, down and shooed her inside. She went, silently scolding him the whole way. But he heard none of it, he was focused on her nipples that were standing at attention under the thin, white cotton of her blouse.
“What did you just do! I mean for Pete's sake! Souta thinks we are getting married!” She pointed a finger, but he made no move to raise his eyes.
Inuyasha chuckled, but didn't find humour in the idea. Honestly, he had thought about it, but surely if he sprang an idea like that on her now it'd ruin everything. WAY too soon. Right now, he just needed to have some sort of claim on her. And the one way to do that was . . .
At a loss for words, he looked at the night gown Mrs. Higurashi handed him and held it out to her. Kagome snatched it and made a move to leave the room.
“Where are you going?”
“To the bathroom to change.” She said stiffly.
“Why?” He asked, moving up behind her and gently pushing the door shut with a 'click.' He watched her visibly tense.
Kagome's pulse began to race. She thought back to the Ferris Wheel and knew that if they started something, there was no telling how far he would take it. She would not stop him. Her body overrode her mind when it came to his advances. “Inuyasha, if we- I won't be able to-”
“I won't touch you if you tell me that you don't want me to.” His husky voice sent a shiver down her spine. Why he automatically felt the urge to touch her every time they were alone was beyond him. Damn him for being a man, but she made him like this. Her scent, the way her cheeks lit up when she was being shy, her body, her . . . Her. Just everything about her.
One step more and his chest met her back. Kagome felt the heat from his body bleed through the wet clothes and sear her skin. She knew it was coming. It would sooner or later. It would be him. She just knew. Spinning on her tippy toes, the miko kissed him full on the mouth, her hands immediately fisting in the wet fabric of his shirt, pushing down, revealing his collar bone.
Turning his head away from her, he broke the kiss. “Are you sure?” He whispered, looking her dead in the eyes.
She met his gaze.
“Yes.”
