In response to the comment 'bertabee1' left: I appreciate your feedback [and everyone's for that matter]. My stories are darker and thus may not reflect the normal fandom for S&R. Secondly, and this means I must improve my writing if I have to clarify myself, I think that Sesshomaru's unhealthy expression of his feelings combined with his full demon nature [and the time period] make questionable consent/rape very logical. It seems to fit his character even though he has shown signs of cherishing Rin. I think that his ability to have sex with her would require a shift in his way of viewing her, from child to adult. But again, I appreciate the criticism. Even if you do not like this take on the couple, I invite you to continue reading and continue to give feedback. I love feedback it motivates me to write!

Rin lost all sense of time and awareness.
Despair seeped in, and she lay listlessly where she had been left. She had never felt this alone in her entire life. Not even as a child. She was young when her parents died, leaving only a vague memory of warmth. And then after that, there had only been the cruelty of other humans.
But then she met Lord Sesshomaru. And her life took a turn for the better.
Gone was the constant hunger, the fear of being hurt…and most importantly, she found a companion. Someone who cared for her, of that she had always been sure. Why else would he take her with him? Why else would he save her life?
She did not know the person who spent the last few days hurting her. She felt pain and emptiness.
Had she done something to make him hurt her?
She wanted to be loved. She believed she had been loved. But this…
But what he had done wasn’t love. It was…cruel beyond words.
Why?
She squeezed her eyes shut as new tears threatened to spill.
She heard her stomach growl in hunger. But she did not move. She lacked the desire to eat. She wanted Lord Sesshomaru back…but she was terrified of what that meant…of what her new role was.
Eventually, she came to her feet. Or at least tried to. Her legs were weak and asleep from lack of use. Painfully she stumbled, falling to her knees.
She couldn’t remain here.
If Lord Sesshomaru said he was finished with her, then that was it. He never did anything or said anything he didn’t mean.
Where could she go?
She could look for Sango-san…
She didn’t know anyone. Now that she thought of it, her world had only really consisted of Lord Sesshomaru and Jaken. For the first time, she was beginning to request her dislike of humans.
And then another frightening thought struck her: without Lord Sesshomaru, she was unprotected.
If she left here, could she protect herself from bandits? Thieves? Monsters?
An overwhelming sense of helplessness assailed her. She put her face in her hands and began to cry silently, the force of her sobs shaking her entire body.
‘But I can’t stay here…’
She looked about herself. The castle was emptied when Lord Sesshomaru arrived. When the locals discovered that the demon was gone, it would not take them long to realize that he had abandoned the girl. They could be nice…but they were far more likely to be angry. People were always cruel.
Rubbing her nose hard, she stood, ignoring the discomfort, and went about preparing herself for this solitary journey.
The place was huge, and it was no easy task locating a bag to carry things. But when she managed this, she guiltily took with her a kimono, rice, and dried meat. With this she might make it for a few days…
She swallowed hard.
I will be fine.
Rin could make it on her own. She’d done it before. She knew how to scavenge for herself. She could do this.
It was early morning.
Rin ate a hearty breakfast, availed herself of the baths and finally cleaned away the…white sticky residue left by Lord Sesshomaru…his ‘seed’ she guessed it to be, and nervously set off.
She didn’t know it then, but she was walking directly into danger.
