Title: Won't fail twice

Summary: Part 119 of The Seven: Wanted Dead or Alive.

Prompt Summary: They start setting up in the valley.

"He said to put anything important to us in that cave and you are the most important thing in my life. And just like you are the woman, I am the man and it is my job to protect you. That is one job I will never fail at again; even if it means I have to hogtie you. I could not bear the thought of something happening to you; not now.”

Though Jakotsu wanted to point out that he was starting to sound a little bit deranged with calling himself the 'man' of the relationship when they both were in fact men, he held his tongue as it all still sounded a bit sweet to him. Would he really hogtie him just to make sure he stayed inside where he could protect him? Would he really still have felt the same not only if he had actually been born a woman, but if had thought of himself as a man?

Wondering if he would ever know the answers, Jakotsu nodded his head with a soft smile before making his way over to where the girls were unloading the wagon and trekking it up the steep incline that lead to the mouth of the cave. Making his way up with the first load, he could see Bankotsu below; already helping the men to build a crude fence across the opening of the valley. As he stepped back outside for another trip, he could feel the first drops of rain landing on his nose and shivered slightly at how cold they were.

This was going to be a very long and cold night; especially without Bankotsu beside him. It would be the first night they slept more than a few feet apart in the entire time they had known each other. Jakotsu doubted he was actually going to get any sleep that night, but he still wished Bankotsu was going to be up there with him and not outside at the mercy of the elements.

Making his way back up the incline, the rain already starting to fall lightly, he paused to stare out at the valley as he found himself wondering if it was actually such a good idea if there was going to be that much rain. True having only one side to guard in order to keep the herd in would make that part easier, but wouldn't the valley flood drowning everything inside of it?

As the thought caused him to worry more than he already was, Jakotsu took a real good look at the valley below him. Much like with where he was currently standing, the valley itself was at an incline; the deepest part also being the highest. All of the rain that fell would basically drain out into the open plains just outside of the valley. The only thing they really needed to be worried about was being swept away with the water.

Unsurprisingly, the thought did not bring Jakotsu much comfort.
