Phase 12
Terror of the Peach Killer Part 2
Thursday 12, April 2001
Standing on top of the steady counter beneath the window, you pull yourself through the window and into a bush on the outside of the mansion. After crawling through the brush, you stand and remove twigs and leaves from your hair. Thankfully, you didn’t see any- you gasp and immediately shake and flick the spider from your arm.
After quickly picking the spider web from your arm, you release a sigh and look around. It’s very dark, and you would pretty much be blind if it weren’t for the moonlight. You step forward and peer out over the neglected garden of weeds surrounding the mansion. Through the thick layer of trees, you can’t see any flicker of lights belonging to a car, a neighboring house or at least a street light. You glance around the dark forest nervously.
Where the hell are you, and why does it have to take place in thickly wooded area in the middle of the night?
You almost flinch in surprise at the sound of crunching grass and weeds from nearby. To your relief, a human sounding groan is what follows.
You hesitantly approach the corner of the mansion and peek out into the backyard. The crunching and scratching of movement didn’t stop, but the groans did. You still can’t see anyone though.
“Hello?” You ask quietly
“___..” The person murmurs and you walk around the corner to meet the person who addressed you.
You finally see the owner of the voice sitting on the ground, and recognize the mass of untamed hair on his head. “Katsuro!”
Katsuro looks up, and seems to smile, but you can’t tell in the darkness. “What are you doing still here? I thought Inuyasha would have got you and ran off the moment he could.”
You glance away from his face wordlessly. This seemed to be some sort of rescue mission, but you can’t remember what happened earlier that day to explain how and why you needed rescuing. You are literally and physically in the dark. You kneel down beside him, and notice him gripping his arm tightly. Fragments of glass glittering in the moonlight surround him, scattered in the grass and trail back to the wall of the mansion beneath a broken window.
Katsuro carefully removes a shard of glass that pierced through his jacket from his arm and tosses it away. He stands shakily, limps to the wall of the mansion and leans against it. You see the long cut on the calf of his leg when he moves away from you.
You approach the man concernedly. “Are you ok? Your leg…”
“I’m fine, it’s just flesh wounds,” he says, sounding a bit strained. “Where’s Inuyasha?”
“He’s still inside.” You answer, and glance inside the busted window of the mansion. All is dark and silent within the mansion. “Katsuro, what happened? Who was that man?”
Katsuro pushes himself off the wall, limps to the corner of the mansion, pauses and flips his cell phone open. The screen glows and flickers signifying a new message. “I’m not sure myself.”

Inuyasha quietly removes he wooden plank from the door and unlatches the lock before untucking his gun from his pants. The door creaks softly as it opens and he creeps into the kitchen. He edges closer to the wall, glancing around warily and attempting to be silent as possible when he accidentally steps on a bag of half-eaten potato chips. Grimacing slightly at the crunching and crackling of the bag, he continues forward out of the kitchen and pauses near the staircase.
The sun had set and it had gotten much darker without any source of light besides the moonlight, which wasn’t much for this side of the mansion. Not that he is careless enough to turn them on; the houselights aren’t likely to come on anyway, since the place is badly neglected. His eyesight now, especially in the dark, isn’t as sharp as it regularly is in his half demon form, so he’d have to just bare with it.
He tenses, becoming more alert when the fully uninjured cat scampers pass and disappears into the dim room parallel to the kitchen that he had yet to investigate. A crackle of what sounding to be fire forces Inuyasha attention from the room the cat scampered into to the living room.
He quietly edges to the entrance of the room and peers inside. An orange hue from the crackling fire in the fireplace brightens the walls, but creates shadows, which reveals nothing to him. He steps further into the room, while holding his gun ready and scanning over the shadows of the room.
There would be nowhere to hide in the small spaces here; the fatass must have gone upstairs. Inuyasha frowns. Wouldn’t the sound of the stairs creaking be able to be heard from outside because of the guy’s weight?
A large figure, the peach man, walks out of the open door (which Inuyasha originally thought was another empty closet) next to the bookcase and pauses before the fireplace, not seeming to have noticed the half human. The peach man’s attention is set on the jug he’s holding which brings a twisted smile to his face in the glow of the fireplace.
“Hey asshole, don’t move!” Inuyasha calls out, holding his gun tightly before him, catching the peach man’s attention.
The peach man turns to him, and the smile on his face easily twists into scorn. “So there are more of you here? And another human to boot! Hilarious!”
“I said don’t move!”
The peach man snorts and laughs loudly. “You’re little toys won’t hurt me, human! I’m immortal! No matter how many of you come after me,” The peach kneels and swiftly reaches inside the open fireplace, “I will never go back to that prison!” He shouts and hurls a flaming piece of wood towards Inuyasha.
Inuyasha jumps from its path and looks back in alarm when it crashes into a lamp in the corner. The peach man looks to his hand to see where the fire burned his flesh and turns his darkened palm to the half human to show his burned skin rapidly heal.
The peach man snatches the fireplace poker from its stand and moves towards Inuyasha with speed surprising for an individual his size. Inuyasha raises his weapon and takes no time to release a hail of bullets in defense. The first bullet meets the peach man’s large belly, bounces off, and embeds itself into the bookcase. The second, third, fourth and fifth bullets ricochet from the peach man’s belly and collide into other pieces of furniture.
Disturbed by the peach man’s deflection of the bullets, Inuyasha barely moves away in time to avoid the poker swinging his way to dislodge his head from his body. The longest tip of the poker scratches Inuyasha’s cheek and the peach man ferociously slashes the poker through the air, desperately seeking its target. Inuyasha avoids the poker, forced to step backwards out of the room to avoid every swing.
The peach man pauses before the staircase and pants heavily. “Three humans in one day, what luck! Too bad that stupid tree only prefers women… I’ll have to kill you all.”
During the pause, Inuyasha fires again, hoping that the peach man’s belly is the only bulletproof part of his body. The bullet pops off the peach man’s chest leaving behind a small singed spot along with the several others on his shirt. Inuyasha curses at the results and doesn’t move in time when the peach man wildly swings at his again. Luckily, the poker misses his throat, slices through the fabric of his shirt and cuts the skin underneath from his shoulder to across his chest.
Inuyasha stumbles backwards into the unexplored room that he had passed to enter the living room, bumps into a couch and nearly falls over. With a gleaming smile, the peach man stops before him and raises the poker above his head to strike a final blow.
Inuyasha falls back onto the couch and rolls to the floor as the fireplace poker crashes down onto the couch and rips open the plush fabric. Inuyasha stands at the other end of the couch and lets loose another barrage of bullets at the peach man. Each and every bullet pops off of the peach man’s face only disturbing the wide smile on the his face when a pained and stunned yowl of a cat is heard.
“Udon!” The peach man cries in a panic as he moves about quickly in the darkness to find the cat.
The half-human blinks slightly shocked by his second accidental fire of (probably) the same cat when a soft crackle from the other room catches his attention. He glances to the direction of the living room to see the fire beginning to spread throughout the room. A deep growl and heavy breathing disrupts the sudden silence and peach man’s voice booms in his rage.
“How dare you hurt Udon? Unforgivable!”
Inuyasha doesn’t react in time to avoid the hefty fist colliding into his face. Easily knocked off his feet by the peach man’s punch, Inuyasha’s thrown backwards to crash into and through the window. With the shrieks of the breaking glass, and a heavy thump, Inuyasha meets the ground outside of the mansion in a bed of glass.
