On a Gathering Storm
The firm presence of the stone ledge beneath him gave him something to push back against, something solid to touch upon as he felt the impossible heat of his brother's mouth close over the head of his cock. The pull of his desire shot down his spine like a shock of lightning and pushed him up, his body arching away from the ground to push toward that heat. He thought he cried out, some sound of frustration and desire, and he pulled against the hands that pinned his own to the ground. He pulled at that restraint but not as hard as he could have, and the force of the cry that wanted to burst from his throat came out more softly- a desperate moan. His brother's mouth was all around him now, taking him in deeper and surrounding him in the welcoming wet heat that he dreamed about at times, longed for. He moaned again, thrusting upward only to have that mouth pull away and, with a quiet chuckle, leave him.
He growled in annoyance, eyes opening to golden slits to glare up at his brother, who only grinned
back unrepentant and then lowered his head to nuzzle teasingly against the stiff flesh he'd until recently been tasting. The annoyed growl deepened, but faded away then to nothing as that nuzzling mouth parted its lips to release a darting tongue. He knew the talents of his brother's tongue and he made a low noise of approval as it traced lines over his flesh. He tried to lift his hand, to bury long fingers in the thick fall of his brother's hair, but he had forgotten about his brother's own hands holding his tightly to the ground. He growled again, pulling at that restraint, wanting to touch, his inability making the desire flare in him stronger.
Inuyasha pulled away and chuckled again. Sesshomaru lay beneath him, glowering up at him as he took the demon's hands and pulled them up to his mouth, kissing each palm and slowly tasting each finger in turn. Sesshomaru watched him from slitted eyes, desire on his face as his lip curled in mock impatience. After a moment he slid his hands free of the half demon's and gave in to his
urge to bury them his brother's hair, guiding Inuyasha's face to his as his fingers found the sensitive fur of ears. Inuyasha leaned into the demon's lips, eyes closing in pleasure as he moaned.
They kissed for a moment, until Sesshomaru impatiently reached for Inuyasha's groin, fisting the erect cock he found there. His brother moaned against the demon's lips, reaching also for the erection he'd neglected. "Mmm, I have an idea," he murmured, pushing Sesshomaru back to lie on the rock. He straddled his brother's willingly prone body then turned around, burying his face in
the demon's groin. Sesshomaru reached up from where he lay to stroke over Inuyasha's legs, his fingers brushing down the smoothness of his brother's inner thighs as his breath ghosted over the taut skin covering the flesh that pulsed and hung between them, Inuyasha shivering under his
fingertips at the sensation. He reached up further, circling the cockhead with his tongue before he let the flesh slip between his lips. His finger traced the vein that ran the length of the underside and he
shuddered himself as Inuyasha's breath caught and stuttered before the soft heat of it flowed over the demon's own aching length.
Inuyasha swallowed him down, fitting the hot length deep in his throat, and Sesshomaru's fingers
tightened where they rested on his brother's thighs, his breath hissing out in a moan as his legs spread, his hips angling and thrusting upward unconsciously. He felt Inuyasha's hand on his thigh, holding him still as the half demon milked his length. He buried his face against his brother's groin as he moaned, wrapping his arms around Inuyasha's hips and pulling his brother closer to him. Turning his head he took his brother's cock in his mouth, sweat and pre-come obscuring the taste of
Inuyasha's flesh with a sweet tang all their own. Lips brushed over smooth skin, tongue against flesh felt the pulse of blood. A strangled cry slipped from Inuyasha's lips and his body trembled within
Sesshomaru's encircling arms as the demon took him in deeper, sucking at the hard length. The demon moved one of his hands down to caress Inuyasha's ass, stroking over flesh as he worked his brother's cock with tongue and throat, coaxing greater ecstasy from the body that trembled above him, trying to finish his brother before Inuyasha drove him past the ability to think rationally. He teased at the half demon's opening with one finger and Inuyasha moaned; the sound was deep in his throat and he arched into the touch even as his hips thrust down, driving his cock deeper between Sesshomaru's waiting lips. Sesshomaru's eyes were closed against the pleasure- the sensations that thrilled through his own body, the scent and taste of his lover.
It was too much, and not enough. Sesshomaru tumbled his brother off of him, the half demon emitting an indignant yelp as Sesshomaru rearranged them. He kissed his brother's lips, tasting himself as he shared Inuyasha's taste, and he positioned himself over Inuyasha's waiting cock, feeling the hot length of it against his skin even as he felt Inuyasha's hand next to his as he
guided their joining. His brother was inside of him and beneath him- and all around him as Inuyasha wrapped his arms around Sesshomaru's neck and pulled him down even as he hid his face against the demon's shoulder and made a soft sound of completeness. Sesshomaru moved against his brother, Inuyasha's hands falling now to touch his chest and cock, and they kissed again.
He was already aroused and being like this felt so right that it wasn't long till Inuyasha's knowledgeable fingers coaxed him to the very height of his arousal and he came, eyes closed as he threw his head back and screamed, desire and pleasure and realization together. The air was heavy with his brother's completion as well and he licked and kissed his way possessively over Inuyasha's face and chest before lying down beside him. Inuyasha rolled on his side and tangled a hand in the demon's hair, playing with the strands lazily.
--
Inuyasha crouched behind the pile of fallen stones that had once been a wall in this ruin of an ancient city. He lifted his nose to the wind but did not find his brother. He edged out from behind the pile of stones. Sesshomaru was nowhere to be seen and Inuyasha slipped across the open space in front of the remains of the wall in search of better cover. He ducked behind a less ruined section of a different wall; the desert was silent around him but he kept his ears alert, listening for
the slightest betraying noise.
In a rare moment when the wind stopped, his ears caught the sound of gravel shifting and he turned his focus toward it. He crept along, hidden behind the crumbling wall, until he came to the point he
was looking for. Crouching down, he leapt up and sprang over the barrier wall. He'd found his prey; Sesshomaru whirled to look up at him with intently narrowed eyes. The demon dodged, ducking
sharply to the left, but Inuyasha kicked out, stretching with one hand, and managed to catch hold of his brother's sleeve. He held on in a death grip, even though the result was that he ended up
sprawled in an ungainly heap in the sand. He squinted up at the demon who was peering down at him and, coughing on a mouthful of sand, grunted, "Tagged you."
Sesshomaru regarded him with an arched eyebrow. "So it would seem." Inuyasha grinned, uncurling his fingers from his brother's sleeve.
They'd spent the past few months lazing around the broad river valley just north of where they were now. It had certainly been a... pleasurable time, but Inuyasha had noticed the ease of the life starting to tell on him. No one had given them any trouble those months, human and demon alike
giving them wide berth. Being without distractions was nice but it was... boring. They had, by mutual agreement, headed south. Following the line of the gulf south, keeping the water in sight
even as the deeper desert beckoned away to the west, had brought them to where they were now, the site of an ancient ruin.
Sesshomaru stepped away from him now, toward the water, his face lifted to a sudden breeze off the gulf. He closed his eyes as he concentrated on the scent it brought him and Inuyasha leaned back where he sat on the sand and admired the view as the wind caught at his brother's long hair, blowing it back from his body. "A storm is coming," the demon observed.
Inuyasha perked up with sudden attention. "Fun," he drawled, Sesshomaru shooting him an amused look.
The demon's attention was drawn then by something out over the desert and he turned to watch it.
He stepped back closer to where Inuyasha sat and the half demon sat up further, wrapping his arms loosely around his brother's legs as the demon came to stand between his drawn up knees. "I... have a strange feeling," Sesshomaru said, voice soft, "as of eyes upon us."
Inuyasha paused, ears pricked forward in interest as he registered his brother's words. "I feel it too," he responded slowly, mulling over the implications. "I felt it earlier, when we were playing around, but then I thought it was you looking for me."
Sesshomaru nodded. "I felt the same at the time."
Inuyasha looked out over the desert for a moment then shrugged, leaning his head against his brother's leg. "So you want to go another round?" He grinned with sudden smugness. "I think you're down a point as it stands."
Sesshomaru made a soft sound of derision and he was suddenly gone from within the circle of Inuyasha's arms. The half demon let his grin widen, easily leaping to his feet and loping back in amongst the walls of the ruin. This game was fun, and it tested him more than just wrestling around did- especially since tussling with his brother tended to not last that long anymore before it dissolved into other activities which, while entertaining, did nothing to sharpen his fighting skills. He kept his head up and senses alert, but it was Sesshomaru all of his awareness was focused on
and he didn't notice just how strong the wind had gotten until he stepped out around the corner of a ruined building and it almost blew him to the ground.
The sheer fury of the elements surprised him and the half demon crouched low to the ground as he peered into the growling wind and sudden rain. He was distracted and almost expected his brother to appear and claim his victory, since distraction was in this game no excuse, but as a sudden chill to the wind cut him to the bone Inuyasha decided that losing this round was something he didn't think he would mind. He fought his way to his feet, swaying in the wind and lashing rain and looked around for his brother.
The cold rain stole his breath away and he fought his way toward the wall he'd used earlier to sneak up on his brother, deeper in the ruined city and hopefully closer to where Sesshomaru was hidden. He thought he saw a flash of white to one side and he dove toward it, but the wind was circling around him now, whipping the sand up and throwing it around.
Inuyasha crept forward, sleeve over his face as he tried to peer through the strange gloom that had
fallen over the formerly bright and warm afternoon. he thought he moved toward the place he'd seen the movement of white, but he continued to find nothing as he moved forward. He coughed on the sand that seemed intent on finding its way into his mouth, and even as he opened his mouth to spit it out he inhaled more. He changed tactics, trying to fight his way to the edge of the storm, but if there was a world beyond this whirling, whipping sand it eluded him. He crouched, eventually,
beneath the overhang of one of the tumbled ruins that he'd stumbled across in his searching and tried to concentrated on breathing through the filter of his haori's sleeve. But even the fire rat fur
couldn't help him it seemed, as the storm seemed to go on forever and a parching thirst rose to consume his thoughts. The last thing he remembered before unconsciousness claimed him was a dark shadow falling over him.
--
Sesshomaru crouched on top of the ruined building he'd been shielding behind and glared suspiciously at the dark clouds that roiled above him. This was much more of a storm than he'd been expecting, and though he certainly wasn't familiar with the weather patterns of the area he felt there was something unnatural about its fury.
Apprehension spread through him and he scanned the darkening ruin for Inuyasha. Not seeing his brother, he leapt down and moved between the piled rocks, closing his eyes against the sand filled air. The wind tore at him but he ignored it even as the force of it made him stumble, and after a
moment he caught the faint scent of Inuyasha on the turbulent air. He moved toward it, reaching out to feel before him as he tried to find where the scent was stronger. He slitted his eyes open and glimpsed the bright red of his brother's haori.
A dark shape leaned over the half demon and Sesshomaru snarled as he approached. The sky was full dark with sand and clouds by now but the cloaked figure turned toward him, eyes shining with bright light, and hit him so hard he flew back through the air to slam up against a crumbling wall. The wall crumbled further under the force with which he struck it and Sesshomaru shook his head for a moment as he pulled himself out of the pile of stones that had been a wall, dizzy from the power behind the blow. He snarled again, eyes blazing red as he turned back to the cloaked demon. He moved to strike but the strange demon was faster than him; this realization sank in as he felt another blow strike him- felt it with an odd detachment. He fell to the ground and it seemed as though the very desert itself fell down upon him, covering him.
--
Inuyasha woke slowly, lying still as he absorbed his surroundings. He was somewhere cool and dark, light coming only faintly from a small source to his left and trickling through his closed eyelids. He felt a breeze with a distinct chill to it pass over his face and he realized it must be nighttime. The air smelled like desert; he could smell the thick green of heavy vegetation somewhere close as well, but to his mind the most important thing was that there was not even
the trace of the salt scent of the gulf water. The surface he was lying on was soft and comfortable, the texture familiar. He sensed no one else in the immediate vicinity but he stretched lazily,
testing the range of all his stiff and bruised muscles before he opened his eyes, leaning up on his elbow to glance around the room.
It was bigger than he'd thought, and elegant in an utilitarian way. He was lying on the left side of a large bed- the comfortable softness he'd felt was the silk of the sheets. Further to his left a large window was draped with thin, gauzy curtains; to his right the room was mostly dark but he could pick out a chest and a table with two chairs beside it. Inuyasha pushed himself up further until he was sitting upright. He was sore all over, as if he'd been beaten soundly, though the only injury he seemed to have was the remains of what his demonic healing had made of some shallow cuts. The weird thing- the second weird thing really- was that he couldn't remember what had happened. His last memory was of noticing the growing wind and deciding to seek out his brother.
And back to the first weird thing that was going on here- there was no sign of Sesshomaru anywhere in the room, or anywhere in the scented breeze that flowed in from outside. Not a damn thing, and it made a flicker of unease rise in him that was not helped by the fact that he had also been stripped of haori and hakama and was dressed simply in his kosode.
Before he had too long to contemplate this information, or rather the lack of it, one of the two sets of doors in the room's walls opened and Inuyasha found himself regarding a pleasant faced, dark haired, dark eyed, and expensively dressed young man; he entered the room easily, as if he owned the place, and even though there was nothing demonic in his appearance an aura of power that definitely wasn't human seemed to flood out from him and fill the room. The man smiled and spoke, the words tumbling out of his mouth in a stream that had absolutely no form to it to Inuyasha's ears. On second thought... He listened closely and thought he recognized in it something of the tone and rhythm Sesshomaru and Kunya had used when they talked.
"Yeah, I have no idea what you just said," he grumbled in return, eyes narrowing, when the man
stopped speaking.
The man paused a moment before starting again, haltingly but with growing ease and without ever losing his smile, "Ah, you speak Japanese? It has been a long while since I had occasion to use that language but happily it is known to me. My name is Afzal." He bowed slightly toward the bed where Inuyasha sat. Another form scurried in behind him and placed a tray with food on the table.
Inuyasha could not see well enough in the dimly lit room to tell much about this third party other than he was pretty sure it was male and demonic, but Afzal waved distractedly and the form disappeared back through the door pulling it shut behind him. Afzal turned to Inuyasha and smiled as he moved toward the bed. "I am pleased to see that you have wakened," he continued, his Japanese flawless though he spoke with an old fashioned accent. "I was growing worried; the storm was vicious and you took quite a beating from the elements before I found you."
The unease flared up inside of him and Inuyasha felt a thrill of warning shoot down his spine. "How long have I been here?"
Afzal waved a hand dismissively. "A few hours; not long, but I am particularly pleased that you have come to no harm now that I find you are a stranger in this land. It is a poor host who treats a traveler with such discourtesy as our desert showed you." He leaned over the bed, bowing again slightly, the motion bringing his face closer to Inuyasha's. "Allow me to repair some of this discourtesy."
In spite of the warning that lingered in the back of his mind, Inuyasha couldn't repress a grin of
admiration at the nerve of this guy. The grin faded; admiration wasn't enough to keep him here. "Looks like you've already done plenty." He stood. "Now if you'd just cough up my clothes and my sword I'll get out of your hair." It didn't escape his notice that even in his simple kosode he was
already dressed more fully than his host.
Afzal raised an eyebrow and smiled, leaning back slightly. "I have done nothing beyond what any one would do, having found a handsome stranger down on his luck. Please, let me provide you with a meal at the least. The food is already here and it will take a few moments for someone to fetch
the rest of your garb from the laundry." He gestured to the tray on the table and Inuyasha found himself stepping toward the table before he even thought about it. The half demon frowned when he realized this and turned his steps toward the window instead.
The desert was bright under the light of the moon and Inuyasha stood looking at it for a moment.
It spread away into the darkness, uninterrupted. He wondered how far they were from the gulf.
And Sesshomaru... where was his brother? This Afzal had made no mention of the demon and that made Inuyasha reluctant to ask. If he was not here then where was he? Inuyasha barely remembered the storm that Afzal said had driven him to the point of unconsciousness.
It probably hadn't proven to be too much of an inconvenience for Sesshomaru... but still the unease pulled at him.
Afzal stepped beside him and he glanced up at with sudden, sharp attention when he felt the man move close to him. "What has brought such an unhappy look to your face?" Afzal reached out as if to touch Inuyasha's face but pulled back at the last moment. "If it is my company you dislike
then I will leave you. Please take refreshment in food and I will have your things brought directly."
Inuyasha sighed. What was with this guy, going from flirty lord of the house one minute to pouting
and offended the next? He shrugged, not wanting the man to leave but not about to ask him to stay. "I was just thinking about... something else." He went to the table and sat in the chair gingerly, reaching for the food and eating mechanically.
Afzal smiled as if deeply pleased, and sat across from him. Inuyasha watched him from under lowered lashes for lack of anything better to do. Suspicion told him he could not trust this Afzal but
necessity was telling him he needed the man- or at the very least the information he could provide- in order to figure out what the hell was going on. There was enough of Sesshomaru's careless ease with the world about this Afzal to tell him that the other man was aristocratic and Inuyasha knew he himself didn't have the patience to play whatever kind of game it was going to take to get what he needed from his mysterious benefactor without giving more than he wanted to in return. Unless
there was blood involved, and if it came to fighting Inuyasha found himself strangely uncertain in that arena as well. Afzal was powerful, that much he could sense, but he had no idea just how powerful or in what way that power manifested. And with the Tetsusaiga nowhere in sight he wasn't prepared to press himself in that way just yet. He had shifted his gaze to the table during his musings and he bared his teeth at it now in a silent snarl as he realized his caution was fear. He was aware that provoking a confrontation when he was obviously at a disadvantage was not a wise choice but that he was even thinking about it meant he was rattled and he didn't fucking like it. He shook his head and stood, turning to Afzal. "It's been a few minutes," he observed without preamble and demanded acerbically, "Where's my fucking clothes?"
To his surprise Afzal smiled in the face of his irritation. "I can see you are unused to being a position where you must depend on someone else, particularly a stranger. I can sympathize. It is not easy to find yourself beaten by an opponent you thought harmless."
Inuyasha glared at him in answer, but Afzal ignored the expression. He rose from his seat and went to the door, opening it to reveal the scurrying form from earlier kneeling ready with the familiar red of the fire rat fur folded neatly and held upon his hands raised above his head. Afzal took the clothing from the servant without a second glance and shut the door in the demon's face before he offered it to Inuyasha with none of the subservience the demon in the hall had shown.
Inuyasha took it, regarding Afzal carefully. "Who are you?" he asked demandingly, no caution in his words. "And what the hell are you? You can't be human," he didn't feel he needed to justify this
observation, "but you don't feel or look like a demon."
Afzal smiled, an expression of true amusement that slid easily over his features. "Why, my lovely
nameless guest, is there nothing else I can be?" His grin darkened slightly and his black eyes were penetrating as they met Inuyasha's. "I should think you, most of all, would recognize what I am."
