Chapter 12
Kagome looked around the limo amazed.� She had never been a limo before and it was
wonderful.� The kids chattered away
behind her and Inuyasha was talking on his cell
phone.� She felt eyes on her and found Sesshomaru staring intently at her, taking in her every
reaction.� She smiled and scooted closer
to him as she continued to look around the limo in aww.� He took her hand and gently squeezed it, she looked over to him and gave him a warm smile.� Sesshomaru had to
work hard to suppress a smile of his own, she looked around the limo with
childish aww, and he could smell the excitement
rolling off her in waves.� She was so
easy to please.� He also felt a tug on
his heart that his mate had never been given the chance she deserved.� It seemed that her life had many hardships
and he was going to rectify that.� From
now on she would get the life she deserved.�
When the limo approached the restaurant they could all see the crowd
gathered in the front.� Sesshomaru sighed, he really did
not want to deal with this tonight.
�The owner said we can go around back to avoid the crowd,� Inuyasha said giving the driver instructions.
A few blocks before they reached the restaurant the limo
turned and went through the back streets until they reached their
destination.� The owner was already
waiting at the back to escort them in.� Sesshomaru got out and helped Kagome out of the limo and
then Rin.� He
took each of their hands giving Kagome�s a little squeeze sensing her anxiety, she looked up at him with her sapphire eyes
sparkling and smiled in thanks.� Then she
moved her hand and wound it through the crook of his elbow.� Rin was bouncing up
and down in excitement.� They quickly
followed the owner in to avoid being seen by the paparazzi.� The owner escorted them to a private table in
a VIP room and closed the curtains telling them a waitress would be there in a
minute to take their orders.� The
children were chattering happily and nearly bouncing out of their seats.� When the waitress came they were all shocked
to find Kikyo standing before them.
She looked around and sneered at all of then,
�What can I get you?� she asked in a hateful tone.
�Send another waitress and the manager, I would like to have
a talk with him,� Sesshomaru replied coldly.
Kikyo glared at him and left the
room.� About two minutes later a new
waitress and the manager appeared.
�Sesshomaru
sama?� You requested me,�
the manager said.
Sesshomaru ordered his drink and then escorted
the manager out of the room, �Yes I did.�
�Might I ask as to why you needed to talk to me?�
�That waitress, Kikyo, she was very
rude to my party and she has some sort of grudge against my family.� I ask that you keep her away from us and keep
her away from our orders.� She was acting
in a very despicable manner and her tone was disrespectful,� Sesshomaru replied giving the manager a hundred dollar bill
for the trouble.
�This is not the first complaint I have had on her, so I will
fire her.� She won�t be able to get near
your order,� the manager said taking the money and putting it in his pocket
before heading off to find Kikyo to fire her.
Sesshomaru walked back into the VIP room and
picked up his menu.� Kagome was helping
the children decide what they wanted off the kiddie
menu.� When both children had finally
selected she picked up her own menu and began to scan it.� Sesshomaru couldn�t
help the small smile that crept onto his face at the scene.� After a few minutes the waitress came back to
give them their drinks and take their order.�
Kagome ordered for the kids and then ordered a plate of lasagna for
herself.� Sesshomaru
ordered the same and Inuyasha ordered a steak
rare.� They all picked up their drinks
and started to talk about different things.�
Within 20 minutes the food arrived and they all began to eat.� Sesshomaru was
surprised when Rin actually ate her food instead of
wearing most of it.� He had a feeling
that Kagome was responsible for this change.�
When they had all finished eating Sesshomaru
decided that it was time to deliver the news.�
He cleared his throat to get everyone�s attention as he stood.��
�Everyone I have a very important announcement to make,� he
reached his hand out to Kagome and helped her up to where she was standing next
to him, �Kagome has agreed to become my mate.�
Everyone looked at the couple with surprised shock.� Sesshomaru reached
into his pocket and pulled out a tiny box.�
He kneeled before Kagome and opened it.�
Inside was the most beautiful diamond ring she had ever seen.� She gasped in shock.
�Kagome, I know that humans have different traditions so I am
going to ask you will you marry me as well?�
A smile broke across her face and she threw herself into his
arm squealing in happiness.� He picked
her up and twirled her a few times.
�Is that a yes?�
�Yes Sesshomaru I will marry you
and be your mate,� she said as tears of joy started to trail down her face.
Sesshomaru had never been so happy.� In all the centuries he had lived he had
never felt as happy as he did now.� He
gently set Kagome down and slipped the ring on her finger then turned back to
the rest of their party.� Inuyasha had a big smile on his face,
it was about time his brother found someone to love.� Rin and Shippo were squealing in delight.� Rin jumped off her
chair and ran to hug Kagome�s legs.
�Does this mean you will be Rin�s
mommy?� she asked staring up at Kagome.
�It sure does.�
Shippo climbed off his chair next and went
to his uncle.� Sesshomaru
picked him up and could smell a little fear and anxiety coming from him.
�What is wrong Shippo?�
�Does this mean she won�t have time for me anymore,� Shippo asked looking up through his bangs.
�I will always have time for both of you,� Kagome answered
stepping forward to kiss his forehead.
Shippo smiled and hugged her.� Now he would have an aunt and she lived with
them.� She would always be there.� Maybe one day his daddy would find him a mom,
but at least he had Kagome.� They were
all going to be one big, happy family.�
He turned to his father and jumped out of his uncles
arms to go to him.� He crawled into his
daddy�s lap and hugged him.� Inuyasha was still a little shocked, but he knew this might
come.� He wrapped his arms around his son
and stroked his hair.� He finally snapped
out of it and congratulated the happy couple.�
After the announcement they all returned to their seats and Sesshomaru ordered a bottle of champagne and hot chocolate
for the kids.� They all started to talk
and laugh.� Inuyasha
couldn�t help but poke at his brother by telling him it was about time and that
the ice prince had finally melted.� By the
time the waitress came back with the order Inuyasha
was sporting a huge lump on his head.
Sesshomaru gave the children their hot
chocolate and the waitress poured them each a glass of champagne.� Sesshomaru nodded
to her to dismiss her and turned back to the conversation.� Kagome was laughing and happy and Sesshomaru felt his heart swell at how happy she was.� He was willing to bet that she had never been
this happy before and he was pleased to know that he was the one to give her
this happiness.� He himself felt immense happiness, Kagome had agreed to be his mate and now his wife
as well.� They would be one big happy
family.� He also found that he could not
wait until she was pupped with his heir. �If she agreed they would have many pups and
make a large family.
�Kagome?� he asked low enough not to get everyone�s
attention.
She looked at him and smiled, �Yes, koi?�
He felt his heart skip a beat at the sound of that, �I think
tomorrow we can go shopping.�
She frowned at him, �What for?�
�To get you new shoes, clothes, and some dresses for major
events that we will be attending.�
�Ok, if you really think it is necessary,� she replied giving
him a heart stopping smile, �Just don�t spend too
much.� I don�t want you to spend too much
on me.�
�I have already told you that I would love nothing more than
to spend my money on you.� I want to give
you everything you desire,� he said taking her tiny hand in his.
She smiled again, �What else could I possibly want?� I have you.�
He smiled back and gave her hand a light squeeze.� He could tell that she would not be one of
those needy people that maxed out credit cards for fun.
�When we get home we will move everything that you really
need to my room,� he said taking a sip of his champagne.
Kagome just nodded in agreement and sipped on her drink as
well.� She didn�t know how they could rearrange
everything in his closet and drawers to accommodate her, but from the look in
his eyes he already had a plan.� They finished
their drinks and Kagome couldn�t help but laugh when she looked at the children
to find their faces covered in hot chocolate.�
She picked up a napkin and cleaned both of their faces, giving them each
a peck on the cheek.� When she turned
back to Sesshomaru he was holding up the bottle of
champagne in question.
�No, thank you.� One is
enough for me,� she said.
He refilled his and Inuyasha�s
glass and they both talked as they polished off the bottle.
�Well I guess we should get picked up in the front.� I don�t want any of the reporters making up
stories about mine and Kagome�s relationship.
�Yeah that would probably be a good idea,� Inuyasha replied sitting his glass down to call the limo
driver and instruct him to pick them up at the front.
XXXXXXX
Kikyo was beyond pissed.� How dare they fire her, and she knew just who
to blame.� That bitch that had moved in, there
had been nothing but trouble for her.� Well,
she would get her back.� One of the
waitresses that was her friend told her that Kagome
was to be mated to Sesshomaru.� Well, she had a plan, if she couldn�t be
happy then neither would they.� She put a
cap on and joined the crowd waiting out front for the Taisho brothers to emerge
with that little bitch.� When they
finally came out the doors Sesshomaru stopped and
informed the reporters that he would soon be mated.� He didn�t say to who,
but Kikyo knew.�
She pulled the gun from her pocket and aimed at the bitche�s
heart.� She would die for messing
everything up.� She pulled the trigger
and in a blur Sesshomaru and Kagome moved.� The bullet just embedded itself in the wall
behind where they had stood.
�There she is get her,� she heard the crowd of reporters
shout and before she knew it she was surrounded.
They attacked
her, knocking the gun from her hand and then beat her mercilessly into the
ground.� Kikyo didn�t
know how long it took, but eventually the crowd broke up and police officers
cuffed her hands behind her.� They carefully
put the gun into an evidence bag and then roughly lifted her from the ground
and threw her in the back of a police cruiser.�
They didn�t need to wait to take her in they had a lot of eye
witnesses.� As the cruiser pulled away Kikyo looked out to see Sesshomaru
holding that bitch close and talking to an officer.� Just then Sesshomaru
looked up giving her a dark glare before she was out of sight.� She had made a big mistake, she thought that
being in a crowd would hide her, but it was the exact opposite. �
�Why does nothing ever go right for me,� she asked sobbing
into her hands.
She knew she was in deep trouble and was probably going to
prison for attempted murder.� She was
sure because she had just gone up against one of the biggest, most powerful
families in Japan.� She was in deep shit.
XXXXXXX
Sesshomaru had just finished his statement when
he sensed the danger.� He had heard the
crack of the gun and had barely managed to get Kagome out of the way.� He was furious and he almost lost complete
control when he saw Kikyo there holding the gun.� However, the other reporters got to her first
and he just sat back and watched as they beat the shit out of her.� The police arrived in no time and cuffed
her.� Sesshomaru
gave his report to the police at the same time holding his shaken mate to his
side trying to comfort her.� Inuyasha and the kids had gone back in to sit since they
had not seen what happened.�
When the officer was finally done with his questions Sesshomaru looked up and saw Kikyo
staring at him from the back of the cruiser.�
He just glared at her his look promising that she would suffer for what
she had done.� This time she had gone too
far.� He would see to it that she was
punished to the fullest extent of the law.�
He had connections and he could do it with no problem.
When they were finally done, they managed to make it to the
limo without any more questions from the paparazzi.� All of them were too busy talking to the
police.� Sesshomaru
let out a sigh as he closed the door glad that it was finally over.� Kagome snuggled up to him,
he could still feel her shaking after her close call.� He wrapped both his arms around her and
pulled her into his lap trying his best to comfort her.� When she finally stopped shaking he leaned
his head down and kissed her.
�I will always protect you, my Kagome,� he whispered in her
ear.
She smiled up at him, �I know you will.�
Then she leaned up and kissed him before snuggling into his
chest.
