Sorry for the somewhat long wait, honestly just have been getting distracted by IRL things.
Either way, hope you guys are still sticking with me through this while I slowly update! Let me know what you think!
-CherryP.S. Sorry for that weird editing bug. I think I fixed it.
Sesshoumaru had never been so angry in his life. His demon was furious inside of him, urging him to do something about the current predicament. Rational thought was thrown out the window. Which was something Sesshoumaru had never done.
He used his acute sense of smell to pinpoint where Kagura was. But he couldn’t. It was as if all traces of her had vanished. His eyes slanted as the puzzle pieces started to come together. She was hiding from him by using his property. Yes, he knew exactly how she was doing this.
Stopping dead in his tracks, which happened to be somewhere near his bedchamber, he tried to regain his composure. Not being able to use his demonic senses to track her made this all that much harder on himself. He would need to calm himself down.
Your rage will not help us finish this quicker.
She has been lying to us! She tried to hurt HER!! She should not be allowed to live for what she has done!!
I’m not arguing with you. Your anger is unneeded. We can deal with this without being irrational. Now, calm down so I can think.
If you cannot deal with her, I will.
His demon seemed to seep back into the recesses of his mind. The tension in his body left and he found it much easier to breathe. The sheer thought that this had all been caused because of a human disgusted him. More disgusted than how he so badly wanted to rip Kagura limb from limb? He was not sure.
“My Lord? A-Are you alright?” Miroku was peering around a corner looking at Sesshoumaru.
Sesshoumaru slowly looked over to Miroku, a deathly glare just under the surface of his emotionless mask. Miroku had seemed to notice his held back fury and swallowed hard.
“Hn.” Sesshoumaru paid no mind as he continued forward, walking towards his bedchambers. As soon as the doors had been opened, they had also been shut. Leaving Miroku in dead silence.
"Well then…” Miroku continued his trek towards Kagome’s room.
On the other side of the door, Sesshoumaru walked over to something that looked like a hologram, in the shape of a flat-screen TV. Upon reaching the device, he typed in a number onto the hologram, on something that looked like a keypad. Seconds later, a man clad in black with a face mask popped up.
“Yes, Lord?” the man had his hand over his chest, as if saluting Sesshoumaru.
“Find Kagura and bring her to me at once,” Sesshoumaru said coldly.
“Yes, sire.” The man with the mask disappeared and the keypad reappeared.
Sesshoumaru mentally sighed to himself as he walked over to the window, looking out of it and staring off into space.

Kagome sighed as she plopped down onto her bed, just having got out of a nice fresh bath. Despite her resting day in and day out in order to recover from the exertion she’d been put through physically, she never had a moment to herself to get over it all mentally. Someone, Kagura, had tried to kill her. More than once.
She rolled over onto her stomach and laid her head onto her forearms as she sighed again, feeling depleted of all energy. Probably a side-effect of all the healing her “miko” powers have been doing lately.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, a soft knock came to her door. Her eyes snapped open and she turned onto her side, staring at the door. “Who is it?”
“The hopefully-soon-to-be father of your children!”
Kagome rolled her eyes and laid back down, immediately relaxing upon realizing who it was, “Only in your dreams.”
The door opened and Miroku revealed himself. He closed the door before walking over to her and gently sitting on the side of the bed next to her. Smiling, he pushed back a strand of hair behind her ear, “How are you feeling?”
Kagome closed her eyes for a few moments, enjoying his touch. He wasn’t being sexual with her, didn’t want to hurt her, and just wanted to soothe her. She needed that so badly. A moment of sanity from the craziness she had been dealing with. Without even knowing it, she had begun to cry.
“Kagome? Are you okay?” Miroku used his thumb to brush away her tears off her flushed cheeks.
Kagome opened her eyes and looked surprised as she felt the wetness that was her tears. She looked up at Miroku and sat up next to him. “I… Just haven’t had a break. I miss my mom. I miss my dad. I miss Souta…. It’s been so long. They probably think I’m dead. And I would be if it weren’t for Sesshoumaru. But I wouldn’t be here in this place either if it weren’t for him. Why does he even want me? What does he want from me?” Kagome felt more tears fall as she spoke her feelings.
“You’re a miko, Kagome. Your race was said to be extinct, but-” Miroku was cut off.
“He didn’t know that until I got here! What did he want me for before he found out?”
Miroku’s glanced downwards as he contemplated his next words. “…If I tell you, you’ll just hurt more.”
“How can it possibly get worse than it already is, Miroku! I’m living in hell! I’ve been taken from my family, of which I will probably never see again, and I’ve already been almost-killed twice! I never get to see the daylight, I have no friends-”
“Don’t you say that. I am your friend. So is Sango. We are on your side, and always have been. What Sesshoumaru does may be unconventional and could be just downright… Cold… But we will always be there for you.”
“Then let me go! Let me go home to my family!” Kagome was grasping his shoulders now, crying hard as she pleaded with him.
Sighing, Miroku closed his eyes. “Kagome, you know as well as I do that it’s just not that easy. But I promise you that I will do everything I can to keep you safe. I wasn’t there the first time you were attacked-”
“Or second” Kagome interjected.
“-Or second. But I won’t let it happen again. If I’m unable, Sango will be there. You won’t be abandoned, so don’t lose hope. We will figure this out.”
Kagome sniffled and looked down, her tears having stopped. “Miroku, how long have I been here?”
Miroku looked over at Kagome and sympathized for her, her grief starting to affect him more than it should. He looked forward, his voice was barely a whisper. “You’ve been here for ten months.”
Kagome looked up at him shocked, “T-ten MONTHS?”
Miroku nodded, then looked back to her. “You need to be careful. More now than ever. Things are going to get crazy around here.”
“You mean they haven’t been already?”
Miroku grinned at her momentarily, “If this was really Kagura's doing-”
“It was.”
“Okay. Then, SINCE this was Kagura’s doing… She is probably going to get exiled. Or worse. And if that happens, we could be making a lot more enemies than we want to deal with. If that happens, they’ll search for a weak spot. And you are one of those weak spots. You are also one of the most powerful. It actually is probably better you’re here than with your family because of how strong this empire is.”
Kagome frowned, “I don’t know about that…”
“I know there’s not many good things about your situation, but it could be the difference between life and death for you right now. You being here is probably the safest route for YOU.” Miroku looked away and whispered to himself something inaudible.
“What did you say?” Kagome asked.
“Oh, nothing.” Miroku got up off of her bed and began to walk towards the door.
“What did you say, Miroku?!”
“Don’t worry about it. I don’t think you need anymore on your plate right now. Everything will be fine. Just rest.” Miroku gave her a reassuring smile before taking his leave.
Sighing, Kagome plopped, yet again, down onto her bed and covered her face with her hands.
Maybe I’ll sleep for just a little while…

Miroku quickly walked towards where he thought Sesshoumaru would be. As soon as he made it to his bedchambers, he knocked on the door.
Seconds later, Sesshoumaru opened the door. He thought it was someone else, obviously, since the usual stoic mask he had had not been there moments before, then had reappeared instantaneously.
“My Lord, I fear that there are pressing matters I need to discuss with you,” Miroku tried to get just a moment of his time.
Sesshoumaru kept his door open as he walked back into the bedroom. Miroku took that as his cue and walked in, closing the door behind him. Sesshoumaru had sat down in one of his chairs and places his chin against the palm of his hand, staring intently at his subordinate.
“My Lord, it concerns the Miko,” Sesshoumaru’s body seemed to tense at the mention of the priestess. His eyes remained glued to Miroku.
“To put it simply… I think that the Miko’s clan may be in danger upon recent events regarding our Lady.” Miroku tried to remain strong. For Kagome’s sake.
“You are regarding the Higurashi Clan I presume?” Sesshoumaru sat up from his chair, walking slowly towards Miroku.
“Yes, my Lord.”
Sesshoumaru came face-to-face with Miroku before slowly circling him as if he had been his prey.
“Let me ask you something, Monk.” Sesshoumaru stopped momentarily to take note of the beads he had wrapped around his right hand. “What do you think the purpose was of bringing the only heir to the Higurashi clan here?” Seshoumaru began to circle him again.
“I…” Miroku balled his fists as he tried to think about his question.
“Well?“ Sesshoumaru now stood directly behind Miroku.
Miroku soon started to connect the dots. It all made sense. The Higurashi clan was next!? Miroku felt his jaw drop slightly upon his realization. They were using Kagome as a way to take over the Higurashi clan! Of course. Of course!
The only reason he hadn’t concluded this before was because he wasn’t actually part of the Taisho clan. He had been summoned from a local village because of Kagome’s wounds, and after learning she was miko, he had been staying here ever since. He was often used as the Taisho clan’s healer. He knew the clan quite well, but he never took part or heard of how they handled their battles. Only since he had been staying in the mansion because of Kagome had he really learned what it was like. But, he had essentially been working under Sesshoumaru for years.
Sesshoumaru came to stand in front of Miroku again and smirked to himself as the man realized what his reasons were for. Sesshoumaru made his way back to his chair and sat down, looking quite bored. “Leave”
"But wait! Kagome isn't the only heir!" Miroku fought back.
"That weakling will never bare a child. He will die before he's even come of age. Now don't make me repeat my orders," Sesshoumaru growled.
Miroku stood there dumbfounded for a moment before taking his leave.
Kagome. I am so sorry.

Hours later into the night, Sesshoumaru was still in his bedchamber. He had been reviewing some of their latest reports on earlier missions when he sensed another being right outside his window.
He walked over to said window and opened it. The being waiting outside moved inside so quickly, that if he had not been a full-fledged demon, would he have not seen him. Sesshoumaru closed the window and turned towards the person behind him.
“My Lord,” the masked man from earlier bowed and placed his hand over his chest, fisting his hand as he did so.
“Where is she?” Sesshoumaru asked icily.
Remaining in the same position, the man replied,
“She was causing quite a disturbance with the winds, my Lord, so I took it upon myself to take her in the private dungeons.”
“Hn.” Sesshoumaru walked to his desk and pulled out a large sack of what looked like gold. He threw it at the masked man and left his room immediately.
“Thank you, my Lord,” the man bowed once more before collecting his reward and leaving through the window he came through.
Sesshoumaru’s beast writhed within him as he got closer and closer to his destination. It longed to teach the bitch a lesson. To do anything to sate his bloodlust.
She would beg for his mercy.
Sorry again for this humongous late update! I hope you all enjoy this! I know it wasn’t SOOoooOo interesting like it will be later on, but at least I’m updating?!!? :D R&R! -Cherry
