In the morning the pups would be down in the kitchens. Kaze had been pouring over the books ever since Izayoi had stopped eating and had been looking for the best things for her to eat. He found a fantastic remedy that took fresh fruit and some herbs that would taste good and was mashing them up for her. He was even throwing in some of her favorite fruits, like peaches in there. It would be great when he was done he was just sure of it and good for her too, like a lovely medicine. Unlike Sesshoumaru he was following the recipe. Some of the other stuff was on the side in smaller portions.
Sesshoumaru was going through the book too “All this sounds gross’ he told him. “ How could she even eat some of these things?” he complained.
Kaze rolled his eyes. “She’s human, it taste good to her” he said. He was allergic to some of those fruits too so he was being careful not to get any near his mouth. “Besides, Mother needs to eat and the book says it’ll be healthy for her!” he said. “Humans and youkai have eating disorders just the same” he said. “I hope they’ll be okay with what we set up” he muttered.
Sesshoumaru sighed “Sure they will, we’ve got all the bases covered, a nice quiet dinner with simple things they can both eat and those lavender candles that finally are dry” he said. It would keep them relaxed. Or so he was thinking. “And we’ll stay out of their hair...let them be for a while all three of us”
Mika rolled her eyes.. “I don’t get why you guys are freaking out so much about it. They are fine now! He stayed with her all night and all this romantic crap isn't going to get them anywhere, they just need to talk.” she said. “Ane he’s right Sesshoumaru. Humans eat...odd things. One time a human I saw was eating worms from the earth, in between two pieces of bread...it was gross.” she said, sticking out her tongue. “Anyways, what the hell do you think that you are going to accomplish by this?” she asked. Mika was grouchy.
Both Sesshoumaru and Kaze made a face at the worm, bread, story. Though it was Sesshoumaru to say something next “Trust me, It’ll make Izayoi feel a lot better to know that we care too” he said. “And the more their connection gets back the better” he added. “I mean, wouldn't you be mad too at the situation if say I forced you to mate?”
Kaze smiled “More like if she forced you, Sesshoumaru” he said with a small snicker as he continued to mash the fruit. “But come on now, it’s good to show our support anyways humans need lots of love and I plan on continuing to show it” he really didn't’ care if those two didn’t, though the company was nice.
Mika huffed. “I guess she’s okay.” She said. “And yeah, you couldn't force me to do anything Sesshoumaru.” she teased. “BUt I guess if it’s important to you guys I may as well help before I go and get all this crap from the men out there. Two weeks and they don’t even realize I’m a girl.” she said, chuckling.
Kaze smiled at her “You’re the best Mika” he said. “That’s because I hear they’re a bunch of uneducated buffoons, well, according to the staff anyways” he’d been hanging around the kitchens because of his mother the past few days, they loved to gossip. “So….” he said holding up an herb that was foul to their senses, to humans it was odorless. “...Who wants to mash it?”
Sesshoumaru clasp his hand over his nose to block the smell “No way!” he was not going to be doing that! He didn’t mind mashing up fruit but whatever that herb was, was disgusting!
Mika rolled her eyes. “You two are both ridiculous.” she said. She snatched the fowl herb and groaned a bit, but she smirked and started to mash it. “Boys I swear.” she said. She didn’t like it...who would, but she did end up mashing all of the herb just as Kaze wanted. “What does this do anyways?” she asked. “And I wouldn’t care if they just didn’t know I was a girl...but they don’t even know I’m only 110 years old!”
Kaze smiled “It’s a rejuvenating drink. She needs food just as constantly as we do and going...about 4 days now without it is bad...very bad” he said. “It may look horrible but the fruit will help!” at least according to the book, which was the only one he could find on human health. “So it’ll help her get all those yummy nutrients”
Sesshoumaru stayed as far as away as the herbs as he could while she mashed it though at least he’d lowered his hand. “I bet they’d be so pissed” he said with a smirk. “Because you’re way better than them, but what do you expect? We haven’t had a war for a long while, before I was born I’m pretty sure” he said. “THey’ve gotten lazy”
Mika shrugged. “They probably would be.” she said. But like you said, they are lazy...what do you want.” she said, chuckling as she put the rancid herb into the bowl so he could blend it. “But If they want to be the head honcho they have to beat me.” she said, smirking. Shouldn’t be too hard right?” she asked him softly.
Meanwhile, Izayoi was finally starting to stir, she noticed instantly she wasn't alone in her bed, and she groaned out just a little bit when she sat up. “Nn…” she said, looking over at her mate...she felt a bit better about it that morning for some reason.
Toga stirred when Izayoi had moved “Morning” he offered. “Are you feeling any better love?” he asked her, as he sat up too, at some point, he’d taken out his hair ribbon so it was, for once, messy and sticking up a bit. He didn't seem to notice though.
Izayoi looked at Toga, and she gave him a slow nod. “Yes...I am feeling a bit better this morning.” she said, giving him the information at least. “What about you?” she asked him in her soft tones. “...Are you okay now?” she asked, moving her hand up to smooth over his hair.
Toga closed his eyes a moment to enjoy her touches. “I am” he told her. “At least a little bit” he hadn’t looked at their marks, he hadn’t want to until he felt much better, it was depressing to see it so faded. “Would you like to get some breakfast?” he asked her. He could go for something himself.
Izayoi nodded softly and whispered “Yes, that does sound okay right now.” she said. “I would enjoy that.” she said. She slipped off of the fur pile and smiled at him as she stood and reached for her robe. “How do you think the kids are doing?” she asked him softly
Toga rolled his shoulders as he got up and gathered his hair into its usual ponytail and secured it afterwards he would groom it out with his claws. “I’m sure they’re fine” he said. “Probably off somewhere hanging out together” he said. “I’m sure we can find out though” he said as he straightened out his clothes, he had slept up in them all night with her.
“Why did you stay with me all night?” she asked him. “After we both ended up so angry…” she said softly. “I do appreciate it…” she whispered, moving and kissing his cheek. “It was a good night's sleep.” she told him, offering him her arm.
“Because you needed to see that I do care, and I needed a little comfort myself” he said. “And you’re right..it was a good night's sleep” he agreed as he took her arm so they could head down to the kitchens. “Please love, no more not eating though” he said.
“Is that all you are worried about?” she asked him tenderly. “I’ll eat a big breakfast this morning, no reason to be worried.” she cooed softly. She smiled and whispered “But I think that I smell something, hopefully the kids aren’t cooking again.” she said, chuckling just a little bit.
He sniffed the air “Smells like fruit and herbs” he told her. So he could guess the kids were trying something. As they would head into the dining hall, the kitchen just off from it he could hear their voices. “...Yup...probably trying to make something for you I take it” he told her, licking her cheek. They would probably have to let them down easy.
When IZayoi saw Kaze in the kitchen, after a small smile at Mika she said “Hey guys...what are you up to in here?” she asked him curiously. “Don’t tell us you are all still worried about us are you?” she teased.
Kaze’s ears went down a bit “You weren’t feeling well” he said. He was just about done “I’m almost done mother” he said as he mixed everything together. IT was a ruby red color by the time he was all done with it, with specks of green because of the herbs. Of course, he was the only one a bit messy by it but he had done a lot of the work.
Izayoi smiled gently and pet his ears. “You are right love, I wasn’t feeling well, thank you all three of you for being worried for us.” she said softly. “But you don’t have to be any more.” she said. “We are alright, for now.” she said softly.
Kaze would hold up the glass for her to take from him “Regardless you need to stay healthy mother” he said. “The book said it’s supposed to be very good for you” he told her. “Lots of yummy fruits and nutrient rich herbs!” he looked quite proud of it.
Izayoi smiled and took the glass from her puppy. She kissed him and gently started to sip at the drink. It wasn’t bad. Better than the pastry. She smiled. “Thank you Kaze and you other to too, for helping me.” she said softly. ‘So what are we doing today kids?” she asked, figuring they must have wanted to do something.
Kaze glad that she took a sip at least, it would be better than nothing. “We figured some fresh air would be good for you mother” he said. “We should enjoy it while we can” he said. Besides, it would be good time spent together anyways. Afterwards, they planned on letting them have time to themselves, later on in the evening .
She smiled gently and nodded. “Toga, where would you like to take the children?” she asked him in her soft tones. “Anywhere in mind?” she asked.
Toga hummed “We could head through the forest, there is many things to see out there” he suggested. Plenty of groves and such for them to see as they would walk through.
Izayoi smiled. “Oh that sounds lovely.” she said. She looked over at Mika. “Would you like to join us? she asked softly.
Mika looked over at Kaze. “I don’t know, those idiots won’t train themselves…” she said softly. She liked them, but she didn’t know if she should get to attached.
Kaze knew she liked her training but he said “It’ll be fun, you should come with us” he said. They didn’t always get time to just themselves, unless he went to her. He figured it would be one of the easier times they would have to get away from everything.
Mika sighed gently, but she nodded. “Okay Kaze, just this one time Ill come with you” she said, smiling at him, Then she looked at Toga. “Can we go now? Or are we just going to wait for awhile?” she asked him.
eToga smiled “Patients, we can go after breakfast’ he told her. Seems she wasn’t the only pup that had to learn it, he knew his own pup had to as well. “IS there anything else we should know about?” he asked them.
Sesshoumaru didn’t say anything to add to it “No father” he told him. OF course it was a lie but it was an easily covered up one. THey had a nice dinner planned for his father and Izayoi later, in the grand hall. Lots of candles, they’d even gotten the minstrels to play for them there. Plus meats and an array of all sorts of different things for them to eat. Plus, if they planned it perfectly, the moon would hit at just the right moment that night through the large windows.
Izayoi smiled and started to finish her little smoothie thing. “That is delightful Kaze.” she said. Yeah so it was bitter, he tried. “So boys, what would you like to do? We thought that maybe all of us can go hunting for Sesshoumaru's birthday.” she said, a small smile on her face.
Sesshoumaru smiled “That sounds wonderful” he said. He would enjoy going hunting with all of them. “Are you sure you and Kaze wish to see that sort of thing though?” he asked her. “It can be pretty gruesome..” he added. THem chewing live animals after all, that was what it typically was, as a kill was best fresh.
Izayoi chuckled. “I one slaughtered and butchered a cow. I dont know why papa thought that would be a good skill to have, but he did. Im not worried about it.” she said. “Kaze, do you wish to go? Or no?” she asked him gently
Kaze nodded “Yeah, it’ll be a good experience at least once” besides, he didn’t want to be left behind while everyone else went out. Besides, he could always chew on some of the bones, he had been sticking to the smaller ones like she had told him to but he was sure he was ready for the stronger ones.
Izayoi smiled. “Then its settled. We will plan a trip for the next very nice day outside. How does that sound Toga?” she asked him softly, she still had to get some berries for Sesshoumaru’s sweet bread. It was like a cake, but better, easier for puppies. She’d done some research herself
Toga nodded “Sounds good to me” he said. He would steal a bit of the meat there from the kitchen, he didn’t need much and Izayoi at least had something in her stomach. “Whenever you’re ready love we can head out for the day” he said. It would feel good to get out for a while.
Izayoi nodded. “Yes, lets go.” she cooed softly. She smiled at Toga, and kissed his cheek softly, catching a glimpse of his mating mark, she smiled. “The Mating mark…” she said “It is lovely now.” she cooed.
He smiled, glad that it was as it should be. “Good” he said softly as he took her hand, lacing his fingers with hers. THe pups could lead the way, he would rather hang back with her anyhow. Besides, it wasn’t as if they were going to run into any trouble, they simply had game in the forest.
