Memories

Chapter 12

Hiei had been doing a lot of searching since he found out
about Sango being his mate. Once he found overheard her tell Kagome about being
his mate, Hiei used his Jagan to search his memories.
Since then, he had been noticing huge gaps, big holes
where memories of his past were suppose to be. He had almost given up, thinking
they were completely gone, when he stumbled to the part of his mind which held a barrier of some kind. He tried to break
through it several times, but each time he was repelled. He had found himself
needing to hibernate after each effort. Finally, he could take no more and went
in search of the Miko. His jagan had been pushing him
to get help from her, but he just ignored it. He found her sitting on the lush
green grass in the garden. She looked to be deep in thought, though she did
turn her face and look at him.

�Hello Hiei.� She greeted him, still sitting down.

�Hello Kagome.� He said and sat in front of her on the
ground. He took in a deep breath, asking for help was not easy, at least not
for him. �Kagome, I need your help.�

Kagome smiled. �You know I would willingly help you.�

�I have searched within my own mind with the help of my jagan. There are memories missing, misplaced. My Jagan and I keep coming across a strong barrier,
I need your help to bring it down.� Hiei said simply.

�Okay, give me your hands.� Kagome requested. �Now can you
please guide me into your mind, towards the barrier.�

Hiei guided her to the place he spoke of.
Kagome and Hiei had come upon a barrier. She frowned, Hiei, this is no ordinary barrier. Kagome told Hiei.

Whatever it is, it
will not let me enter. Hiei said in frustration.

Hiei, this is a holy
barrier. It is to keep out all demonic auras. This is probably why you and your
Jagan could not get through. I have to warn you this
may hurt, do not, under any circumstance let me go. I do not feel like getting lost in here. It may take you
years to find me. Kagome demanded and then
proceeded to take down the barrier.

Hiei felt intense pain. Kagome was using her Miko energies, that combined with the holy barrier, it was making
extremely painful. It seemed like years, centuries, before Kagome was done. In reality it was only
about five minutes. Hiei, don�t you dare let go of me now. Hurry and guide me back to my own mind. Kagome commanded. Hiei quickly
did as she said before he fell into unconsciousness.

Once Kagome�s mind was back into her own body, she slumped
back in exhaustion. In those five minutes that she was taking down the barrier,
Hiei�s and the Jagan�s memories had bombarded her.
Though Hiei didn�t know why he couldn�t remember, the Jagan did and was made to forget. The Jagan�s
memory of what happened was also sent into the
barrier. Kagome now knew how and why Hiei didn�t remember
Sango. She also saw his torment at their separation. She saw his pain. Kagome
was quickly losing consciousness and quickly her world became black. Both Hiei
and Kagome were lying in the garden unconscious.

Sesshoumaru had expected something like this to happen once
Kagome helped Hiei. So when he saw Hiei go into the
garden looking for Kagome, he followed. Once he saw that they were done, he picked them both up and tossed one on each
shoulder. He then went into the palace and deposited them in their rooms. It
seemed the Miko was definitely not going to mate with anyone tonight. Sorry Yusuke Kurama. But some things
are worth waiting for. Sesshoumaru thought to himself.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hiei was now sleeping in his room. He was tossing and turning
as his memories where quickly filling in the missing gaps. They were coming in
to fast, and he was having trouble sorting through them. Memories of how he met
Sango. Of when they first met, the pain he would feel from her Hiratsu as it
made contact with his head whenever he angered her. He also remembered when he
first started traveling with her, along with Higaro. How he
and Higaro became friends once again and the truth about why Higaro had
betrayed that friendship so long ago. His anger at his
old friend leaving. He also remembered the love he felt for the Tajiya, the love that he still feels for her. He now knows
why the thought of even being with another would leave him cold,
he now knew why he had remained celibate for over four hundred years. Yes, he
had not been even remotely intimate with another female since Sango. Sango had
been his last. Hiei felt the memories go through him, dark black tear gems
falling from his face as he remembered their mating, their
confessions of love. Their promises to each other. He
also remembered the pain and agony he felt when they were
separated. His long search to find her once more,
knowing that she was alive somewhere. His
determination to be with her again.

The determination that he felt was which finally drove him
to get the Jagan. He hoped that with the implant, he
would finally be able to find her. To be with her.
When asked about why he wanted the Jagan, he had not
been completely honest with the Doctor. He had only told him half the truth.
That he wanted to use the Jagan to find and protect
his sister. Never, not once did he even mention his mate. Unfortunately, the
doctor had found that Hiei hadn�t been completely
truthful. The last thing Hiei remembers was undergoing the surgery. This is
where the Jagan�s memories surfaces. The Jagan was awake and fully conscious of what was going on.
What the doctor was doing. The doctor had already extracted a price from Hiei,
but since Hiei was not completely honest, the doctor wanted to teach him a
lesson. Of course it was something that Hiei may never
fully know, but that didn�t stop him. He carefully looked into all of Hiei�s
memories, and with the help of a very powerful monk, erected a holy barrier
within his own mind to keep the memories away. This monk was extremely
powerful. Also, to make sure that the Jagan would not tell Hiei of what happened, the doctor also
took the memories of what happened that night from the Jagan
and put it behind the barrier as well. Leaving no trace as to what happened.
Since Hiei had over a century�s worth of memories, he would not immediately
notice the missing gaps in his mind. The barrier also contained a spell that
would keep it hidden. It would not be detected unless
Hiei or the Jagan made a conscious effort to actually
sort through his mind.

All of his missing memories haunted Hiei that night. Leaving Hiei to relive each memory as it came back to him.
It was hours before he was able to fully recover from
them. Hours before he was able to make his way back to consciousness. But once he woke up, once he truly remembered, Hiei found
himself tormented. He felt the tear gems upon the bed where they had fallen. He
gathered them in his hands and looked at them unseeingly. He just sat there on
his bed unable to move. Before he knew what happened, more tear gems were
joining with the ones he had just shed. He couldn�t
seem to stop himself as the gems just kept falling down. He was
so tormented by his pain that he never noticed the figure that was in
the room waiting for him to wake up. This figure had been sitting across the
room next to the window. This figure was looking out the window waiting for
Hiei to wake up. Hiei didn�t notice this figure, till
he suddenly felt a pair of arms gently side around his waist and hug him,
offering comfort. He stiffened when he felt someone touching him.

�Shhh. It�s alright Hiei, just let
it out.� The soft feminine voice said.

Hiei, instantly recognizing the voice found himself
instantly calming down. The tear gems slowly stopping. He leaned into the body
that was now curled behind him. �Sango, I am truly
sorry. I broke the only two promises I ever made to you.� He said softly,
waiting for Sango to condemn him.

�So you remember everything now?� She asked,
her voice still soft and soothing.

�Yes.� He said simply, he was stilling waiting. Waiting for her rejection, her anger, her hate.

�Can you please tell me. Tell me what happened. I must know.� She pleaded, after so long,
she just wanted answers.

�After we were separated, I did all I could to find you. I still had Higaro, but he could not always stay with me. He
had obligations, responsibilities to his own people. I
never gave up looking for you. I loved you so much,
that the separation hurt more than anything I could bare. I
heard rumors of a doctor who could implant a Jagan
upon a demon. The Jagan would assist aid to its
master. I had nothing else to lose. I
would have done anything, if it meant finding you, being with you. I told the doctor only half the truth of why I wanted the Jagan. You see I also have a
sister. I wanted to be able to protect her as well.
The Jagan would have allowed me
to find you both. What I didn�t know was that the
doctor found out about my half truths. He took all my
memories of you and locked them behind a barrier within my own mind. A barrier
made by a monk. He also took the memory of what was done
from my Jagan. He didn�t
want the Jagan to weaken and tell me of what
occurred. There was a spell placed upon the barrier, a concealment spell. We
would not be able to sense it. The only reason we found it was because we had been searching through my mind. Since we couldn�t break it down, I asked Kagome to help me. I remember everything Sango. Everything.�
He finished quietly in a tortured voice.

�It�s okay Hiei. We finally found each other. What I want to
know, what I need to know is, do you love me?� She held her breath, knowing
that his answer could break her heart.

Hiei stayed quiet for a while. He was debating on whether to
tell her or not. Not because he didn�t love her, just
the opposite, he loved her more than life itself. He was just afraid of her
rejection. Finally he answered quietly. So quietly that Sango almost didn�t hear him. �I love you more
than anything in these realms.�

When Sango heard this, she felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders. Her mate, her Hiei was
back. He had finally come back to her. Tears of relief and happiness started
falling. Hiei smelling the salt in the air, stiffened
and immediately turned to look at her face. In her face
he was able to see all the love that she felt for him in her eyes. �I love you
Hiei. I never stopped loving you. Please don�t you
dare leave me again. I swear of that toddler ever
separates us again, I�m ripping his head off.� She finished off, her voice wavering
with so much emotion.

Hiei looked deep into her eyes. �I know that I have broken
my promises to you. But I hope that you will believe
me when I tell you that never will I allow us to be separated. Where I go, you will follow. Where you go, I
will follow. Never again do I want to feel the pain of
not having you with me. The years we spent together, was the closest to
paradise that I have ever felt. I
know we are still mates, but I need to ask this of you. Know that you hold my heart in your hands. Sango will you
please be my mate.� Hiei finished softly, while looking deeply into her
eyes.

Sango seeing all the love within Hiei�s eyes,
couldn�t stop herself from responding. The day she had waited all this time for
was here. She could get mad at him later for causing all the havoc that he did.
She could yell at him later for harming innocents and leading a life of crime. But for right now, she desperately wanted to be with her
mate. �Hiei It would be my pleasure to become your mate again.� She said.

Hiei leaned in and softly kissed her. His kiss was so
different yet so familiar. He kissed her with a gentleness that she had never
felt before. He kissed her as if he felt she may
disappear. Sango felt as is she were falling. She felt
tingling sensations go through her whole body leaving her breathless with
anticipation. Just kissing Hiei made her shiver in pleasure. She felt as if she
were drowning, and the only real thing she could hold
onto was Hiei.

Hiei smirked into their kiss, he
knew full well what Sango was feeling, thanks to his Jagan.
He gently kissed his way down her jaw and nibbled his way down her neck to
where his mark lay. His hand were otherwise occupied.
He had let go of his tear gems, they were now scattered about the bed. His
hands where gently and slowly stripping Sango of her clothes. They worked
gently and slowly, not wanting to break the daze Sango was currently in. He was
still afraid that she may reject him. Though he shouldn�t be.

Sango was is heaven. The sensations
she was feeling were stronger than any she had felt before. It was as if all
this time without Hiei had made her body more sensitive to his caresses. When
Hiei nibbled over his mark, she almost came. He slowly made his way down to her
breast and started licking and kissing and nibbling on one breast, while the
other hand was keeping the other occupied. She had no memory of how she came to
be naked. But she suddenly discovered that she was.
Realizing that while she had no clothes, and that Hiei was still fully clothed,
she started working on getting him out of his. She had missed the feel of his
body beneath her hands.

Hiei felt Sango taking his clothes off, and help her to
quickly divest himself of them. Once he was fully
naked, he sent his other hand slowly down her body till
it came to the treasure that it sought. Sango almost came off the bed as she
arched in pleasure. The intensity of what she was feeling was almost too much
to bear. She was drowning in his gentleness. Drowning in the
pleasure that was Hiei. Her hands touched every inch of his body that
they could reach. They relearned the texture and feel that was all Hiei.

They were drowning in each other. Relearning the touch,
taste, smell, and feel that was uniquely that of their
mate. They both silently agreed, it had been much too
long. Before they even realized how it happened, or how it came to be, Hiei was buried deep within Sango. He had not meant to enter her
so soon. He had wanted to savor her longer. He wanted to take his time, and get
to know her body once more. But it seemed his body had
a mind of its own. He slowly thrust deeply into her, making them both moan in
pleasure. He kept the pace slow, until they both could no longer stand it. Soon
Sango was writhing beneath him, begging him to go deeper, faster, harder. She wanted to feel all of him. She wanted all of
him. Unable to deny her, he soon increased his pace, going deeper with each
thrust, until he felt her release come upon her. As her release tightened
around him he felt it trigger his own. As his release
hit him, he bit into her shoulder where his mark lay, and reclaimed her as his.

They slowly came down from paradise, breathing deeply. Hiei
looked deeply into Sango�s eyes. �I love you Sango. You hold my heart now and
forever.� He said quietly to her. Making Sango�s eyes water with happiness.

Sango tightened her hold on him. �I love you too Hiei.� She
said. Sango suddenly switched position with Hiei, startling the fire/ice demon.
She was now on top straddling his body. �Now, I do believe we have some time to
make up for.� She smiled, teasing him.

Hiei smiled as well. �Yes I believe we do. Do not expect to
get any rest tonight, Tajiya.� He stated as they
proceeded to make love for the rest of the night.

Meanwhile Kagome was barely waking up from the whole
incident with Hiei. The breaking down of the barrier had taken a toll on her.
She slowly sat up, only to realize that she was on some bed. It took a while
for her fuzzy mind to recognize the room she was in. It was the same room she had been staying at since she had come to
the Makai. As she finally sat up on the bed,
she felt dizziness assail her and promptly fell back upon the bed with a huge
groan.

�Careful Kagome, you have not completely recovered.� Kurama
said as he came to her said.

�Yeah Kagome, what were you thinking? Do you know what could
have happened to you if you had stayed outside with not only your defenses
down, but Hiei�s too.� Yusuke accused.

Kagome groaned again and just turned over onto her stomach
and hid her face underneath the pillow.

*Awe, doesn�t she look cute like
that?* Youko said, admiring the adorable picture Kagome was making. *When are
we finally going to mate her?* He demanded.

*Not yet Youko. Can you not see how
exhausted she is?* Kurama said in irritation.

*So, we can do all the work. All
she has to do is lay there and enjoy it.* Youko
suggested in a seductive purr.

*Does she appear to be the type of woman to just lie their
and �take it�?* Kurama asked.

Youko hesitated a moment before he finally answered. He
sighed. *No she doesn�t.* He agreed with Kurama.

Kagome picked up the edge of her pillow and leveled a stare
at Kurama. �Youko, behave. I am soooo not in the mood
right now.� She demanded, surprising Kurama.

*Oops. Guess she heard that huh?*
Youko asked.

*Yes I did. Now shush, your giving me a headache. Please.* Kagome pleaded, then pulled the pillow back down to cover her face.

Kurama looked over at Yusuke, and was surprised to actually find him quiet. Yusuke then got a determined
looked upon his face and climbed onto the bed. Once on there he got Kagome and
nestled her next to him. He then looked at Kurama and quietly looked at the
empty space next to Kagome. Kurama was shocked. Yusuke actually had a good idea
for once. He quickly got in next to Kagome and nestled her next to him as well.
Kagome was now in between the two men and was quite happy to stay that way. She
was about to fall asleep when she remembered about Hiei.

�Oh my gosh. I
totally forgot about Hiei. Is he okay. Maybe I should
check up on him.� Kagome said worriedly and attempted to climb out of bed.

Yusuke got a smirk on his face. �Don�t worry about Hiei,
Kagome. He is quite busy right now.�

This of course confused Kagome. She looked at him for more
clarification, but when she received none, she then looked up at Kurama. Kurama
seeing that Yusuke was not going to explain decided to fill her in. �Sango is
with him.� He said simply. He didn�t want to think of
mating. Especially since he was not going to get to mate at
the moment.

�Oh, good. At least someone�s looking after him. Do you think maybe we should at
least go and see if she needs anything. It may be
awhile before Hiei wakes up.� Kagome said, thinking about the welfare of her
friend.

Yusuke�s smirk got bigger. �Don�t worry about Sango. Her
�needs� are being very well taken care of.�

Kagome only got more confused. She knew that she was missing
something, and normally she would pick up on what. But at this moment she was just to tired to think. �What do
you mean by that?�

�Well Kagome, It would seem that Hiei and Sango are catching
up on old times.� Kurama briefly explained. When he saw that Kagome still didn�t pick up on it he decided it was time to be blunt.
�They are mating Kagome.�

Kagome�s mouth opened wide in shock. Yusuke seeing her
reaction let out a soft chuckle. �Now Kagome, stop giving me
ideas.� He suggested, making Kagome instantly close her mouth.

�Oh. Okay.� Was all she could think of as she drifted off to
sleep once again.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It was the following day. Kagome had woken up with a lot of blushes seeing herself wrapped around both Yusuke
and Kurama. Though she didn�t want to get out of bed,
she knew that she had get ready. Today was the day she was to spar with
Sesshoumaru. Knowing her big brother the way she did, she just knew that if she
were late, he�d take it out of her skin. So she left a grumpy Kurama and Yusuke in bed while she
hurried to get ready.

As she rushed into the dojo, it was to see Sesshoumaru
already doing his exercises. He turned around when he finally noticed her
presence. �Miko, I am disappointed in you. I did not expect you today.� He then
sniffed the air. �And unmated at that.�

Kagome blushed. �What was that suppose to mean?� She asked,
narrowing her eyes at him.

�I would think it was obvious. Especially seeing as I
personally made sure those two would be in your room.� He said imperiously.

�Why you?� She started.

�Kagome, be reasonable. You will have to mate with them
soon. Even you are starting to feel the effects of waiting to long. Or have you
not yet noticed how short tempered you have become lately.� He pointed out
reasonably.

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru for a while, then dropped her
head and looked at the floor. �Sesshy, is it wrong of me to want to be mated because my mates
love me and not because some one said it was fated to be. Is it wrong to want
to be loved for me?� She asked quietly.

�Kagome, I fell in love with you the first time I laid eyes
on you. Even Youko fell in love with you that same day. Though his pride was
suffering over your sketches, he wanted you for his mate.� Kurama said quietly
from behind her, causing Kagome to stiffen.

�Kagome I�m not good with words. I don�t
know how to express those types of feelings, but I love you too. I�ve loved you
since before I found out I am fated to be your mate.� Yusuke also said quietly.

After hearing not only Kurama but Yusuke as well, Kagome
slowly turned around. There were tears streaming down her cheeks. �I�m sorry,
please don�t cry. I�ll take it all back if it�ll make
you feel better. Just please stop crying.� Yusuke pleaded.

�Yusuke you moron!� Kagome yelled
at him. �I�m crying because I�m happy, not because I�m sad. If you take it back
I swear I�ll make sure you become permanent friends with the floor!� She said,
still sniveling.

Yusuke gulped. �I love you.� Was all he said hoping to get
on her good side.

Sesshoumaru sighed. Humans. He thought. They
are just too stupid sometimes. �I believe I will cancel our sparring for
today. Kagome, tomorrow, meet me here at noon.�
Sesshoumaru said as he left the dojo. He felt it prudent to leave the two idiot alone with Kagome.

Don�t kill me. I
promise to update as soon as possible. I�m just tired
and sleepy and it�s four in the morning. At least I
got Hiei and Sango together. So how�d you like this
chapter. Would�ve had it up sooner, but got distracted
by another idea that wouldn�t leave me alone. I
started another story called Kagome�s Destiny. Will not
update as regularly as this one. Well not unless I
get too many people asking me too. Want to finish this one. Almost done, I think. Well review and will like to know what you all
think so far. Too tired to list my reviewers this
time. So please forgive. Will try not to let it happen again.
