Sango was awaken by the sound of a rather rude, raspy voice. "That's her?" The voice questioned. "Yeah...She's Kouga's mate..." Another voice, this one slightly deeper than the other replied. "Kouga would kill us for being this close to her without consulting him first, but I was curious." The raspy voice spoke again.

Sango cracked her eyes open, peeking slightly at the two wolf demons that stood behind her sleeping form. She made sure to look as though she was still asleep incase the duo were up to no foul play.

"Curiosity killed the dumbass..." Sango heard Kouga say as he entered the den making the two wolves nearly piss their pan-- uhh, skirts. "Kouga?!" They both question as both scrambled to try and hide behind one another.

"What are you idiots doing near my mate?!" Kouga questioned viciously as he stepped toward to frighten pair. "You wanna fight or something? I can take you both with my hands tied behind my back!" He threatened causing the two other wolves to gulp and slowly begin cower away. "Get ot of my sight!" Kouga demanded, letting the words flow out in some what a growl. He laughed as he watched the two trip over one another to escape.

Sango smiled, feeling a sense of security now that Kouga was near. She hated it when he left her alone for even the shortest of periods.

Kouga glanced back at her, causing her to close her eyes quickly, trying intensely hard not to smile or giggle. Kouga crawled over her, brushing his against hers, "I know your awake, Love." He cooed as he planted gentle kisses down her neck. Sango blushed as she tilted her head submissively, "Did you?"

Kouga nodded as he nuzzled her neck causing her to giggle. "You can't fool me, love." He smirked.

"I'm going to have to remember that." Sango smiled as she brought her face close to his.

Just as their lips were a hair's breath away from meeting, Sango paused. She couldn't help but feel as though they were being watched. She turned her head slowly and what she saw made her face almost glow red.

The entire tribe watched from their leveled perches of the den. Their eyes intensely on the pair and some of them even wore smirks!

Kouga glared at his pack members. He knew that with Sango being human, show of public affection in front of a pack of curious wolves would be a little embarrassing.

"What the hell are you idiots looking at?" Kouga growled as he stood and walked toward the center of the den, placing his hands on his hips.

"Oh nothing!"

"Yeah, We were just uhh..."

Some of the wolves responded.

"What we're you two doing anyways?!" Ginta question.

"What do you think you idiot? I was showing affection to my mate. Something you'll probably never get to experience!" Kouga shot back, pointing a finger back at Sango.

Sango stared at the quarreling wolves for a moment but before she knew it she grew extremely bored of all the ruckus.

"KOUGA! THE BRIDES ARE HERE! THE BRIDES ARE HERE!" An excited younger demon yelled out from the entrance of the den. From what Sango could tell, he didn't look a day over 13...In a way, reminding of her of Kohaku.

"It's about time!" Kouga huffed as he walked beside Sango.

Sango quickly glanced up at Kouga, "Brides?"

Kouga returned her glance then turned his attention back to the entrance. Sango turned her attention also as. To her surprise, she saw a group of young female wolf demons file into the den, each more beautiful than the one before.

"Those are the brides, love...they bare the young and raise them until their of age...then the males come stay with the tribe while the female go on to become a bride themselves..." Kouga said, examining each female that stood before him.

Sango looked over the females also, couldn't help but feeling sorry for them. "I thought wolves mate for life..." She said as she looked back to Kouga who smiled warmly and sat beside her, "They do. Each bride has her mate...they just haven't officially moved in with us...the den is no where near big enough." He said as he draped an arm over Sango's shoulder, pulling her close. Sango smiled softly as she began to notice some of the wolves reuniting with their mate. She layed her head on Kouga's shoulder as she thought about how she felt the moment Kouga said he remembered her, her thoughts were interrupted by a loud sniffing noise. She shot her eyes open only to stifle a scream as she saw one of the brides directly in her face, sniffing her feverishly. Her hip length blonde hair swaying back and fourth with every sniff.

"Say, Kouga. Why are you hugging dinner?" The young female wolf demon asked as she placed her hands on her hips, her bright red eyes glowering down at Sango.

"Yeah, Kouga-Kun! Don't tell me your going to hog her all to yourself!" Another demoness hissed out. Sango looked over toward the other demon girl, this one had green eyes and long brown hair that stopped at her waist.

Sango sighed loudly enough for them to hear which took Kouga by surprise as he watch Sango rise and confront the perky looking female.

"Let's get this straight...I am not dinner! I am Kouga's mate!" Sango snapped, clenching her hands into small fists.

The blonde haired demon's eyes grew wide but just as she was about to speak Sango intercepted, "And don't go all "but your a human" on me! I know I'm a human...But, what you probably didn't't know was I'm a taijiya also...So unless you want that little smug look you have there slapped off your face then I suppose you back off." Sango hissed as she jabbed a finger at the youkai girl. "And that goes for all of you!" Sango yelled over her shoulder at the other youkai girls as she returned to Kouga's side.

The girls were in shock. They couldn't find the words to say, let alone accept the fact that they just got snapped on by a human.

Kouga smirked at Sango and placed an arm around her waist, pulling her close to him "Ladies, I'd like you to meet Sango...She's going to be in charge of you for the next 6 weeks this season. You are to do what she says at all times and to follow her lead. She's also going to train you a bit as well for our upcoming sparing matches. If she has any complaints...even the slightest, tiniest little complaint about any of you your as good as gone! Got that?" he proclaimed, giving a few of the girls-- particularly that blonde one-- a sharp glare.

Sango's eyes shot open wide as she completely turned to look at Kouga in disbelief.

"Yes, Kouga..." All of the brides, except for the blonde one, said in unisons.

"Tsume! Is that clear?" Kouga growled, eyeing the blonde onna.

She nodded slowly, not taking her eyes off of Sango. "Affirmative, Leader."

Sunset.

Sango sat on a rock a few feet away from the den. It's been 3 weeks since she last saw Kirara and she was beginning to become extremely worried.

"Where are you, girl?" Sango spoke soft onto the atmosphere. Kirara wasn't the type to just run away. There had to be something terribly wrong. She wanted so badly to leave and go search for her companion but she wanted Kouga to go with her. Ever since she got him back she never wanted to be to far away from him for a long length of time.

Sango jumped slightly as she felt a pair of warm arms wrap around over her arms. Kouga smirked, knowing he scared her as he rested his chin on her shoulder, watching the sunset also.

"What's on your mind, love?" He spoke.

"You...and how you completely just scared the living hell out of me..." Sango said as she glaced back at the wolf prince.

"I'm sorry, beautiful..." Kouga said smoothly as he lingering kisses on her cheek.

Sango smiled, leaning her head back and gave him a quick kiss. "It's fine."

Kouga smirked as he let go of her and went to sit beside her, "So how do you like Tsume?"

Sango glanced at Kouga as though he had lost his little wolfen mind, "She's a complete bit--"

"She's Hakkaku's mate." Kouga interrupted, smirking at Sango as he mouth dropped.

"Hakkaku has a mate?!"

NEXTIME

Tsume: I am not in any shape, way, or form going to listen to the likes of a pathetic creature like you! How dare you swoop in and steal Kouga from Ayame?

Sango: ...Ayame? Oh this just keeps getting better and better doesn't it?

Tsume: What you say!?

Sango: I said--

Ayame: --Kouga! Who is this girl?! And what's she doing with the huge boomerang...?

Sango: ...I said, HIRAIKOTSU!!!

Kouga: Oh no...S-Sango! Don't kill her, will ya?!

Reasons for the change: There wasn't really a BIG change, I just prefer the way things are ran in the feudal era...
