With no one around, it did not take Jakotsu long to explore the small town; leaving him just as bored as he had been not long before. Though the sun had still yet to rise, he could now see the first bright yellow rays peaking up over the mountain. Knowing it was still to early to break his fast, Jakotsu stood where he had a good vantage point to see the entire town and took in everything below him.
On one side of the town stood the blacksmith where his horse was stabled and the inn where he was. Beside that was the general store. On the other side was the post and a small, one teller bank; judging by the size. The rest of the town in between the two sides was filled with small houses; most only one story high. Most of the roofs had some damaged done to them, though quite a few of them showed attempts had been made to repair the scars no doubt left by the last storm.
The only other thing in the town was the small church off on the opposite hill from where he stood. Its walls looked in desperate need of repairs, though the damaged seemed to be caused from age as opposed to recent weather. Deciding that heading there made as much sense as anywhere else, if not slightly more, Jakotsu began making his way across the town; heading straight for the church.
As he went, he could see the townsfolk finally beginning to make their way out of their bedrooms. Some headed toward the kitchen, no doubt beginning to prepare their morning meal, while others made their way outside to feed the few farm animals they had scattered about in their yards. Paying them little mind, other than to nod his head in greeting as he passed, Jakotsu headed inside the church; the closing door echoing in the silent building.
Inside, the room was dimly lit by a few candles placed here and there, but honestly he didn't really mind the lack of light. Taking a quick scan of the room, he soon found it to be as sparse as he had assumed it would be from the outside. There were a few rows of pews on either side of the room, a table with more than a few dozen small candles - some lit and others not - and an old, wooden podium placed at the front of the room. Other than that it was completely empty other than a single door on the far side; up to the left and behind the podium.
