Authors note, this is not the last chapter. It was too long for me to do at
once so I cut it in two. Chapter 16 will be the last. While writing this
story unfolding, I realized there was a lot of emotional aspects that had
to be dealt with first.

chapter 15
.............................................
InuYasha followed Kaede into the dimly lit room. Bright morning sunlight
peeked in through the closed blinds giving soft light to the white floor
and walls. As he stepped farther into the room, his eyes fell on the large
bed and Rin. The head of the bed had been raised some. Rin was partially
sitting up, comfortably nestled in the white sheets, blue blanket at her
waist, the stuffed teddy bear at her side, and her eyes were closed. Yet,
he could tell by her breathing pattern that she was rising from sleep.
Kaede walked up to the bed and smiled down at the girl while reaching out
and pushing a stray lock of hair from Rin's face.
InuYasha moved to stand at the foot of the bed, somewhat nervous. By the
way her eyes were moving under her lids, he knew she was waking. He held his
breath when he saw the long brown lashes flutter.
The girl's eyes opened halfway. Groaning lightly, she turned her head toward
Kaede, squinching her features in discomfort. Blinking several times, she
stilled. She opened her eyes almost fully, looking at Kaede. "Where...?"
Kaede smiled at the girl. "Shhhh....you are in a hospital. They brought you
in last night."
Rin visibly swallowed, her small voice croaked with dryness.
"I...remember you. Kaede?"
The older woman gave a nod. "Yes, dear, it is me. It's been a long time,
little Rin. But you are not little anymore."
What happened next made him want to leave. The young girl began to weep.
"Daddy said you went far away..." She cried heavily for a few minutes while
the woman leaned down and shushed her with a warm embrace. "I did not go far,
child."
Finally, Rin settled, her tears lessened. Kaede straightened while absently
smoothing back Rin's bangs. She hiccuped once or twice as she stared at the
blanket of her bed. Then, her big, watery brown eyes rose and locked on him.
Rin blinked twice, shedding the salty tears. She did not speak, merely
stared, the deep brown depths growing larger with each second. Suddenly,
he smelled... fear mixed with ascending shame. Her heart began to race
as her small form started to shake.
Scared, he froze, not knowing what to do.
Kaede turned to him, speaking firmly, "InuYasha, get out of here."
Prying himself out of his frozen state, he gave a nod and hurried out the door.
-----------------------------------------------------
Rin watched the dog eared youkai leave. Unable to stop shaking, she buried
her face in her hands and let it out, wishing she could leave this world and
the agonizing pain in her stomach. God! She remembered...those ears...He had
been the one to.... Her insides twisted and cramped, lurching. Choking in
breaths, she leaned over the left side of the bed and heaved. Bitterness
came, coated, then spewed from her mouth in horrible gut wrenching waves.
She shut her eyes to the sickly sting of the yellowish bile. Somewhere
in her heaving shame, she could hear Kaede calling someone and trying to
help her, but Rin did not care. It hurt too much...because now...everyone
knew....

.................................................................
InuYasha, standing just outside the door, heard the girl start heaving. A
few moments later two nurses and a doctor ran past him and into Rin's room.
He backed away from the door at what he heard next: wails forming words,
words that made his stomach turn. From the choking bits of hoarse weeping,
InuYasha heard the girl begging to die.
Breathing hard, he turned and hit his forehead against the wall before
pounding a fist to it as well.

Sesshoumaru jerked his head at the sound, his heart thumping painfully
in his chest. The only thing he could think was that he knew it was Rin and
that she was in horrible pain. He dashed to the stairwell.
After rushing up two flights of stairs, he barged into the third floor hallway
and flashed down it. His clawed hand reached for the door handle right before
a body slammed into his, knocking him back to the wall.
He regained his balance and glared at his half-wit brother. "What the
Hell are you doing? I have to get to her!"
InuYasha, blocking his way, growled. "You can't go in there! If she sees you
now, she will..... You will lose your mate!"
Sesshoumaru paused, his glare slowly softening before he looked away. He had
let his instincts get to him again. What was wrong with him?
---------------------------------------
Both of them had to stand there and listen to the girl crying in the room.
His brother, stone faced, stood next to the door, coldly staring at the floor.
Her sobs soon fell to quiet whimpers then finally, thankfully, it was quiet,
but he wasn't sure if Sesshoumaru was thankful or not. By the look on his
brother's face, he seemed ready to kill anyone who came near.
Some time later, the door to Rin's room opened and the doctor came out. After
the door closed, he regarded them both, his dark gray gaze glancing between
them as he spoke. "Mr. InuYasha, Mr. Sesshoumaru....Rin is sleeping now.
I gave her a strong sedative."
Pausing, he rubbed the bridge of his nose before going on. "I was expecting
something like this. Rin is suffering from trauma induced by degradation.
Most victims of incestuous rape are...very shamed by what their parent did
to them. This shame drives them to make sure no one knows what has happened
or is happening to them. The fear of someone else finding out is far greater
than the fear of what their parent might do next. They will do anything to
make sure no one else knows about the problem. Rin has probably been mentally
abused as well. This only compounds the driving need to keep it secret. She
probably has no self esteem to speak of. In fact, in her mind, she is not
worthy of anything. She sees herself as bad or dirty."
The doctor looked at him and asked within a statement. "Mr. InuYasha, you
were the one to first find her, weren't you."
InuYasha gave a single slow nod. "Yes. I was."
The doctor sighed. "I spoke to Dr. Green. She related to me how and why Rin
reacted as she did when she saw you. When Rin saw you, Mr. InuYasha,
she remembered that you were the one to find her after what her father had
done, therefore, she suddenly realized the fact that you....knew....what
happened to her. That one realization caused that hidden fear she
has carried with her for so long to surface. This terrified jolt busted
the mental dam, overwhelming her with detrimental feelings of utter shame
and self disgust so deep and painful....she craves death to end them."
His brother, who had been staring darkly at the floor while the doctor talked,
spoke up. "Dr. Kimble, what will happen now?"
Dr. Kimble's eyed Sesshoumaru with grave seriousness. "Rin will have to be
closely watched for the next few weeks. While she is here, I will give her
antidepressants. I will also send some home with her when she leaves.
I am thankful that you hired Dr. Green. She is very respected by the medical
community. Personally, I didn't think Dr. Green still practiced. I thought
she had retired a few years ago. She will be able to help Rin.
In all honesty though, the will to live is entirely up to Rin. She must
overcome the shame first. Then, she needs to realize her fathers actions were
not her fault, that she did not cause him to treat her that way. She also
needs to be reassured that it will never happen again. This reassurance might
not sink in for many months though. Her mental outlook on the world is
damaged. Inside, she believes that all touch is bad and to be received at
her expense. It will be a long time before she even trusts a male. Also,
in her current state, she might allow any male to do what they want with
her body. She is used to giving in, allowing any sexual advance in hopes
of not getting beaten or to please the violating male. This mental
conditioning may take years to iron out."
The doctor regarded Sesshoumaru. "Obviously, because of the mark, she will
need to stay with you. The farther away you two are from each other, the
deeper her depression will become. This is a tragic situation you and your
mate are in. It will not be easy for either of you."
InuYasha listened to the doctor, silently agreeing. Yes, it will not be easy,
especially since Rin is terrified of Sesshoumaru. Something the doctor did
not know. As he mulled over this, he took note of the doctor's next
statements toward Sesshoumaru.
"You must be very careful around her for her mental state is quite fragile.
Give her as much space as you can. I know with a marked bond, that will be
very difficult but you must do this for her sake as well as yours. In time,
hopefully, she will heal and allow you to be...closer. But for now,
she needs space and to know that you are there for her if she needs you."
--------------------------------------------------------
Sesshoumaru listened to Dr. Kimble's words. As the man spoke, it felt as if
a dark cloud was forming over his head. He had not realized how badly Rin
was...hurt...on the inside. Rin was...human, a female human, a highly
emotional creature. Sesshoumaru wanted to regret that he had bound such a
pitiful being to him but deep down...he couldn't. It frustrated him to no
end: that he could not feel contempt for the human girl or the mess his
instincts had gotten him into. For some unknown reason, he just couldn't
bring himself to...despise...the wisp of a girl who was now mated to him
for life. Instead, some other emotion if that is what he could call
it, was invading his spirit. He did not know what it was but it tugged at
insides, pulling yet filling everything at the same time. He remembered
the moment it had started, that overwhelming moment when he could not bring
himself to kill Rin right after he had marked her. Now, that feeling
was engulfing his every waking hour. It was maturing and he found himself
wanting to comfort her. He had never wanted to comfort any being before in
his life, and now, it was if he would die if he didn't. On top of this
driving need to comfort festered an even greater need to be accepted by
her. By the time the doctor had finished speaking, he knew, it might
never be. The doctor said he needed to be there for Rin if she needed
him. Only thing was, she didn't want him anywhere near her. She was
terrified of him.
That dark cloud began raining, flooding him in despair.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Kaede held the small hand in hers, gently rubbing the back of it with her
fingers. The nurses had cleaned up the mess and now the girl was sleeping
soundly because of the sedative. She would sleep for a time. "I will return
shortly, Rin." Giving Rin's hand a light squeeze before laying it on the bed,
she stood then left.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
She entered the hall to see InuYasha and Sesshoumaru. "I need to speak with
both of you. InuYasha nodded while Sesshoumaru turned his head away, his deep
voice leaving an echoing whisper down the hall. "What is it, Dr. Green?"
Kaede smiled softly. "No need to call me by such a title. Call me, Kaede."
The dog demon said nothing more and Kaede continued. "Did Dr. Kimble inform
you both about Rin and what she is going through?"
"Yeah, he did, Kaede." InuYasha replied.
"Good, I am glad. Rin is sleeping now. I will be there for her when she wakes
again." Kaede took note of Sesshoumaru's worried countenance. The inu youkai
was feeling despaired. "Sesshoumaru."
He looked her way. "Yes."
"When I feel the time is right, I will tell Rin about you and InuYasha.
You need to get some rest in the waiting room. It might be tomorrow or today
when I talk to her but when I have made sure she is stable enough, I will
call you and then...you can see her."
The dog demon blinked once, his cool stare a reflective mirror of ambered
vacancy, one veiling all emotion. "I will be waiting." He turned and left.
----------------------------------------------------------
Later that evening, Kaede sat in a chair by Rin's bed, reading a book. Hearing
a light rustle, she looked over to see Rin rousing from sleep.
For several moments, Rin occasionally let out soft groans with the slight
movements.
Kaede smiled some and put her book down. She watched as Rin's eyes slowly
opened then blinked several times.
Rin turned her head to the side and blinked a few more times. She did not
speak, merely stared.
With a soothing tone, Kaede spoke just above a whisper. "Hello, Rin."
The girl's cold stare was void of emotion, so cold it worried her.
"How do you feel?"
Her brown gaze fell before averting away in silence.
Kaede knew the girl was failing, her mind falling into a depressive trap of
never ending shame. She needed to bring Rin out of it before it did drastic
damage. "Rin...please..." She reached out and took the girl's hand, squeezing
gently. "...I am here for you...Talk to me...Don't leave this place. Stay....
---------------------------------------------------
Rin barely acknowledged Kaede's pleas as she stared at the window blinds,
wondering if the sun would set soon. And when it set...it would be dark.
Dark...
It was getting dark now...and...numb...
...and that darkness was so inviting. It was warm and...it would hide her
from the pain...
The edges of her vision dimmed. It would be nice to leave and not...feel...
anything...anymore.
Rin knew her eyes were open yet...her vision was hazing into grayish black
as she retreated into the numbing darkness.
Before she slipped into that darkness completely, a softer warmth eased around
and embraced her, keeping her safe, urging her to return, whispering that she
was strong enough to face it.
Rin, even in her retreat, began to listen to those whispers. The whispers felt
nice and warmer than the darkness....and she believed them.
Slowly, the light brightened as the darkness faded until once again, she was
staring at the window blinds.
Blinking back the sting in her eyes, making it go away, she sighed and
began thinking.
She was in a hospital...
How long would she be here?
Would her father come and get her soon?
Did that...dog eared youkai...tell everyone else about...?
No longer able to stop that sting, she closed her eyes while letting out
a choppy breath. In her slight tremble, she felt the drops fall from her
eyes to her ears. There they pooled and itched.
A warm hand smoothed across her forehead when she heard Kaede speak again.
"Let it out, Rin...Let it out...Cry it all out."
--------------------------------------------------------
Sesshoumaru, sitting in the waiting room chair with his eyes closed, suddenly
bowed his head and buried his face in his hands. "She came back."
InuYasha, who was sitting next to him with Shippo in his lap, asked him who
he was talking about.
Ignoring his half-brother, Sesshoumaru got up and went for a walk.
--------------------------------------------------------
Her face felt hot and her eyes were burning. Rin weakly turned to Kaede.
"How long...will I be here?"
She smiled warmly. "You will be here a week, Rin."
Rin didn't want to ask the next question because she was scared of the answer,
but she forced it from her lips. "Will...my father...come and get me?"
The older woman's smile fell to a sad frown. "No, hun. Your father will not
come and get you. He is in another hospital many miles from here....
a prison hospital."
"I...I don't...understand. Why?"
Leaning forward some, Kaede grasped her hand, her old eyes full of compassion.
"Your father has been arrested for....hurting you. He will undergo a trial
before being sent away for a very very long time. You will never see him
again."
Rin stared at her old nanny in puzzled shock. For a long time, she let the
words sink in. 'arrested...hurting you....trial...sent away....very long
time.'
Never again would she see her father.
Never again would he hurt her.
Never again would he...make her...
Suddenly everything blurred as new tears came. She was free. Rin cried...but
it was a weary cry, one of those cries that needed to come after hours of
heavy tears.
Kaede whispered that it was okay and that she was there.
Finally, Rin calmed, hiccuping till her sobs died down.
A knock sounded at the door. Kaede stood then went to answer it.
Rin stared at Kaede as she talked with someone on the outside of the door.
The older woman leaned down some then began backing up. In Kaede's hands
was a tray. Rin unconsciously inhaled deeply. Whatever it was smelled
very good.
Kaede placed the tray on a small table before rolling the table to her bed
and positioning it over her lap. "It seems you are awake for dinner this
time." She lifted the covering.
Rin's mouth watered as she looked at the steamy food before her: a large
plate of spaghetti, green beans, rice, a buttered roll, milk, and...a large
piece of chocolate cake. She couldn't remember the last time she had
spaghetti and the cake...it looked so good, a lot better than the pink iced
cupcake the last time she...ate...
Rin raised her hand, intent on picking up the fork, when she paused then set
her trembling fingers down. Biting her bottom lip, she shook her head slowly.
Kaede's voice next to her carried softly. "What is the matter, Rin? Aren't you hungry?"
Rin looked away, silent. She couldn't pay for this food. She couldn't pay for
this hospital. What would they do to her when they found out she had nothing
to give for all of this? Eating this would only pile it up more. She wasn't
too bad hurt. Maybe she could sneak out without them knowing. She had spent
about a day here. In hospital terms that meant close to four or five hundred
dollars. Something she surely did not have. Her father was gone, so he could
not pay for it. If he was here, he would pay...yes...but...he would be
angry...later.
She sighed to herself. Where could she go now? She needed to leave, yes, but
where would she go? She couldn't go back to the new house...And her old home
was so far away from Brookhaven....Perhaps she could find someplace...some
old house on the far edges of the city that no one was using. After that...
she didn't know, but she had to go soon, before they began...demanding
payment.
Rin came out of her worried plans to hear Kaede still talking to her.
"Rin? You need to eat. You will feel better if you eat."
Ignoring the older woman, Rin rolled over, facing the opposite wall with
the window, wishing the blinds were open so she could see the waning light
from the setting sun. She really did like sunsets.
She would feign sleep until she heard the older woman leave. Then she
would, later in the night, slip away. Get Teddy, and go far away.
Rin glanced at the chair on the other side of the bed with Teddy in it.
Reaching over, careful not to pull the needle out of her tender arm again,
she grasped Teddy's leg, picked him up, then embraced him gingerly. At
least she had Teddy.
Even though...Teddy...did not ease the growing ache on the inside anymore.
Sighing, Rin swallowed to try and get the burn in her stomach to die down,
wanting very much for someone to take the wonderful smelling food out of
the room so it wouldn't make her stomach grumble anymore.
She heard Kaede, once again, urging her to eat.
Hoping the woman would get the message, she rasped out. "I don't want it.
I'm tired. I want to go to sleep now."
---------------------------------------------------
Kaede sighed and slowly shook her head. The girl had to be hungry and it
could be one of many reasons why she was not eating. She had failed in trying
to get Rin to eat. She may need a little time to herself. If she left Rin
alone with the food, the girl might eat. Kaede stood. "I am going out now,
Rin. I will be back to see you in the morning. The nurse will come later
and take your tray."
Taking one last look at the girl, Kaede left the room.
-------------------------------------------------------
Kaede entered the waiting room, looking for InuYasha. She found him sitting
by the vending machines, quarreling with the kitsune. With a sad smile, she
approached the two.
InuYasha looked up while giving the fox some money, who then scampered off
to the vending machine. "Hey, Kaede. How is Rin? Is she okay?"
Shaking her head with the slowness of age, Kaede sighed. "No.
She is not eating and I don't know why."
The hanyou looked at the floor with a solemn frown. "Did she say anything?"
"Yes. She asked about her father."
"What did you tell her?"
Kaede moved to the chair next to InuYasha and sat down. "I told her the truth.
I told her that he was in a prison hospital many miles from here and she would
never see him again."
His white dog ears wilted a little. "Was she upset about it?
I mean...was she sad...or glad...that her father was gone?"
"I can tell you this, InuYasha, the girl was relieved. I could see that."
InuYasha's gold eyes rose, a hint of worry in them. "Did I...really
upset her that much?"
Kaede gave the troubled young hanyou a reassuring smile. "No, InuYasha.
It wasn't you that upset the girl. It was knowing you knew about what
her father did to her. That shame was hard for her to take."
He averted his attention to the fox kit, quiet for a few moments before
speaking. "I know what it feels like to not want people to know things
about you. I don't like people knowing I am a hanyou. I know it is accepted
by most of society but growing up around the high demon circles my father
is a part of...Well..Let's just say...Mixed blood is not looked highly upon
by the upper class youkai. They think I have tainted blood because of my
mother. So...in a small way...I understand the type of shame she is going
through. I know it is not as deeply painful as hers considering all that
she has been through...but still...I do understand... a little."
Kaede patted the hanyou's shoulder. "Maybe, someday, you can tell her
that, InuYasha, when she has healed some." She glanced at her watch
while standing. "I have to go to my home and get some sleep. I will be back
in the morning with some clothes so I can sleep here the
rest of the week, close to Rin. I want you to go and stand watch outside
of Rin's room. You can take turns with Sesshoumaru. Since you two have
demon stamina, I am sure it won't be too difficult for you to stay up some
tonight."
InuYasha stood. "Okay, Kaede, I will go right now and take the first watch."
Waving her hand once, Kaede strolled toward the door. "I will see you
in the morning, InuYasha."
----------------------------------------------------
Glancing over at the kitsune, InuYasha barked. "Hey, kid, come here."
Shippo, with a mouthful of candy bar, skipped over to him. "Wha iv it, InuWafa?"
"I want you to stay out of trouble. When Sesshoumaru comes back, tell
him I am watching Rin's door and he can come relieve me when he wants."
The fox kid swallowed then saluted him. "Aye Aye, Oh, Capitan. Will do."
Rolling his eyes, InuYasha left, heading for the third floor.
------------------------------------------------
InuYasha got a chair from the night nurse and settled down on it by Rin's door.
Closing his eyes, he bowed his head.
------------------------------------------------
Rin waited a long time after Kaede had left. Soon a nurse came in, took the
tray and left her alone. She glanced at the clock, noting it was close to
eleven. Everyone should be asleep now. Sitting up, Rin looked down at the
needle in her arm. It ached from when it had been ripped out this morning.
With her left hand, she reached over and grasped it. Sucking in a breath,
she braced herself before jerking the IV needle out. She clenched her eyes
shut at the sting but did not cry out.
After taking a few moments to relax the pain away, Rin eased out of bed,
her bare feet touching the cold tiled floor. Looking down at her clothes,
she frowned. All she had on was some sort of hospital gown. Rin leaned
over and pulled open the small dresser drawer. In it she found a pair of
light green pants that matched the gown she wore. Well, it would have to
be enough. After pulling on the pants with some effort, Rin picked up Teddy.
Holding him close, she walked to the window and lifted the blinds. It was
dark. Very dark. Glancing down, she saw the lights of a second and first
floor. She was on the third floor, so...she couldn't climb out. Suppressing
a whimper, Rin backed up slowly then turned to the door.
For some reason, her movements were sluggish. She wondered why until she
remembered that the doctor had given her a shot. Rin grimaced while standing
before the door. It would make it hard to run if she had to.
Taking in a solid breath, Rin steadied herself. She could do this...She could
sneak out. She just had to be very quiet. Padding to the door, she lightly
grasped the handle and pulled.
Rin leaned and peeked out. She turned her head and froze, biting back her
squeak of fear. Sitting there, head bowed, ears drooping, and eyes closed
was the dog eared youkai. He was guarding her room. She waited several
moments until she heard a light snore. Realizing he was asleep, she relaxed.
With slow movements, Rin slipped out the door which shut soundlessly.
Standing only a few feet from the sleeping youkai, she glanced down the
hall to see an empty nurse's station. Extremely observant to every sound
she made, Rin tried to be more than silent as she quietly padded toward
the green exit sign on the other end of the hall, glancing back constantly
at the hanyou, making sure that she did not wake him.
------------------------------------------------
InuYasha twitched. Something was bugging him. Suddenly, he realized he was
asleep. Jerking awake, he lifted his head and blinked to clear the fogginess
in his vision. Immediately, he smelled something. The girl. It was a strong
scent: one that had been only inches from him. He looked to the side. His
eyes widened as he saw a hint of brown hair flutter into the exit doorway.
Not thinking, he jumped up and dashed toward the exit.
InuYasha opened the exit door and looked down to see the girl descending the
stairwell. He almost opened his mouth to shout, then paused. That might scare
her into hurting herself. She already looked too weak to move very fast.
With that in mind, he silently followed her, making sure she did not see him.
When she got to the outside emergency exit door, she pushed on the one way
door and slipped out. InuYasha hurried to the door and pushed it open, intent
on getting the girl this time. She had gone too far.
The moment he stepped out into the illuminated parking lot, he spotted her
and... she spotted him, let out a frightened yelp and began to run.
InuYasha caught up with her quickly and, as gently as he could, picked her up.
She struggled in his arms, crying with pained words. "Please...I want to go...
please...let me go...Please???"
Her voice grew weak with her movements. "Please...I am begging you...
Please let me go..... I don't have anything...I can't stay here."
InuYasha tried to soothe with lowered whispers, hoping to calm her.
"I won't hurt you. I want to help. I know you remember me.
I will not hurt you."
He sat on the cold pavement and engulfed her small trembling form
in his lap and arms. "I won't let you go." InuYasha stroked her soft
hair, whispering over her quiet whimpers. "I just want to help. I
don't want anything from you. I just...want you to...get better.
Please calm down."
Her body slowly relaxed as her breathing evened out and her crying
whimpers faded.
InuYasha continued to stroke her hair while rocking her back and forth and
whispering lower. "I know what it is like...to be scared of people knowing.
It scares you more than anything in the world. I used to get so scared of
what people might think of me before Kagome came along. She was one of the
first females to completely accept me for me. She didn't care if I was a
hanyou, that I had mixed blood and was a frowned upon half-breed. She loved
me for me. She showed me that there are people out there that care and love
no matter what. I want you to know that there are people that care. I care.
I want you to get better."
For several moments, he rocked and whispered, imploring her to listen to the
words that came so close from his heart. He wanted her to trust him but...
how could he get her to? "I know you feel alone, I know that you ache and
the hurt is getting worse. I promise, if you stay, it will get better. You
are not alone. There is someone who wants and cares for you. He... is here
but he is...scared. He is frightened you will not want to be around him.
He is scared you will disappear and leave him all alone. All he wants is
for you to stay and get better. He and I want to take care of you. We will
protect you so that no one will ever hurt you again. You should know that
he is paying for everything. It is a gift and you don't owe him anything.
No one will ever ask anything from you here. No one will make you...pay
in any way. Please understand. Please...."
----------------------------------------------------------
Rin listened to the hanyou holding her. His voice was so soft and deep
with longing. It was strange, feeling him rock her like this, but...a
large part of her...liked it. It made her feel safe. Something she never
remembered feeling before. Actually, she had never felt...safe...with
someone before. Yet, there was something in the way he whispered and
held her that gave her comfort. Relaxing against his warm chest, she
sighed in calming weariness. "I...."
InuYasha froze, listening...she had said something. "I'm listening, Rin."
Her tone whined in a whimper. "It...hurts."
Her voice pulled at his gut. It was weak and so...wounded.
"I know...I know... but it will get better if you stay. The hurt
will go away but you must be strong and let us help you. Will you
let us help you: me and the one who also cares for you?"
He waited for a long moment before she buried her nose in his chest
and nodded shakily, her answer muffled by his shirt. "Yes..."
Sighing in relief, InuYasha stood with Rin in his arms. He turned
to go back into the hospital then stopped, sensing someone. Looking
up slowly, his line of sight caught on the roof of the hospital. There,
standing tall, frowning down at them both, silver hair fanning out in
the upper winds, was his brother.

The AFF system includes a rigorous and complex abuse control system in order to prevent improper use of the AFF service, and we hope that its deployment indicates a good-faith effort to eliminate any illegal material on the site in a fair and unbiased manner. This abuse control system is run in accordance with the strict guidelines specified above.
