Chapter 14: Lemon (Part 1 or 3)
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha nor do I make any profit from this story.
Warning: There will be lemons in this story, some non-con as well.
(A/N: Sorry for the delay, but I had to have all three of these next chapters finished or at least near finished before I posted since they tie into each other heavily. Please no kill me! Lol. This chapter sets up the lemon but has some very sharp turn of events. It's sure to be a wild ride. *wink*
Also, I have edited (new text in bold) a small part in Chapter 4 to give a clearer view of Naraku's original plot that reads:
Naraku was sitting in his darkened room, brooding over his plan versus his desires. He had so many possible ways to use Kagome to hurt Inuyasha and increase his own power, but which one would be the most beneficial. Originally, he intended to merely bed the girl, causing Inuyasha to feel the betrayal of yet another woman in his life, but lately, he came to realize she could do so much more. It was without question that he would have her, his desires would not settle for anything less. However, to acquire her alliance, have her assisting him from within her own group, difficult as it may be to turn her, would not only be enjoyable to weave such a web, but the rewards would be immeasurable. The look on Inuyasha's face when he learns she was working for him for so long would be priceless. He would destroy Inuyasha from the inside out, his downfall stemming from his own heart. The same for the rest of that pathetic group that fought against him; they would all feel the sting of Kagome's betrayal, only further tainting the jewel. Kagome was not an easy subject though. She was fiery and strong-willed. In order to flip her, he'd need her unequivocal trust. She would need to feel more for him than simply lust. Luckily for him, manipulating human emotions was a specialty. And then, when all she has left is he, because everyone else abandoned and shunned her, he'd shatter her heart and feed her pain and remorse to the jewel. She'd fall powerless to resist him, and with her jewel then darkened with all that misery, he'd finally complete it and end her life. The corrupted sacred jewel would be his, and Kagome would be his ultimate tool to attain it.)
Enjoy!
Kagome was still lamenting in her own turmoil, even as the near boiling water of the delightfully steamy hot spring lapped at her aching body, stinging her injured arm. She just couldn't let it go; couldn't ascertain Sango's innocence or guilt in the large scheme of things. She, just as all slayers, had been raised to judge all demons as evil and slay them without question. Somehow, Kilala became an exception to that rule along with Shippo and Inuyasha after she had joined the group of mismatched shard hunters. Did being in close proximity with several friendly demons change her views? It was hard to tell and the whole situation was giving Kagome a headache.
"This is nice, isn't it, Kagome?" Sango noted, a pleased sigh resting on her lips as she tried to strike up a conversation with her unusually silent friend. No, friend was too mild, more like sister. The two really were that close; they told each other almost everything. They were adopted family, a bond made closer due to Sango trying to fill the void left from her deceased kin.
"It is soothing," Kagome agreed blandly. Despite her newfound revelations, she still loved her companions dearly, that wouldn't change. They all had their own murky secrets or shady pasts, herself included. She was lusting like crazy for Naraku, for crying out loud. He was their enemy, even if she did think it to be ridiculous and unfair, her friends still viewed him as evil incarnate. Her secret was no more innocuous to their comradely than any of their's were. It was time to bury it; dwelling on this knowledge was not doing her any good.
Kagome gave a genuine smile this time, finally at peace within herself once again, "So, how are things going between you and Miroku? Don't think I didn't notice you following him during his 'exorcism.'"
Sango blushed at the unexpectedly blunt statement, stammering for a suitable answer, "I-I was only... making sure he behaved himself, that's all." Kagome gave her a knowing look, which spoke of how she knew it was more than just that. Sango, so obviously, got jealous every time Miroku flirted around with other pretty girls. It was hard to miss. "Well, what about you?" Sango questioned, harsher than intended in an attempt to divert the focus from her slowly budding feelings for the lecherous monk. Kagome froze, suddenly very unnerved that maybe Sango knew about her newest infatuation. "Have you made any progress with Inuyasha?" Sango pushed when Kagome didn't answer.
'Oh, right,' Kagome reminded herself, relieved at Sango's misassumption, 'they all still think I'm head over heels for Inuyasha.' "Same as always," Kagome stated blandly, afterall, there really was no tangible difference in how Inuyasha acted, only in how clear Kagome's sight now was.
"Well, I think that it's only a matter of time until he starts showing his feelings for you, Kagome," Sango attempted to reassure her seemingly downtrodden friend. "It's obvious he cares."
Fighting back a condescending laugh, Kagome merely gave a 'grateful' nod in thanks, thinking to herself how absurd Sango's false comfort truly was. She meant the best, of course, to cheer up her friend, but false hope wouldn't do her any real good. Not that she wanted Inuyasha to fall for her now, but it wasn't that long ago that she would have taken Sango's consoling to heart and believed every word, thus continuing the spiral of pain and betrayal she willingly let Inuyasha drag her on. She couldn't help but berate herself for her fairly recent, past foolishness.
Come to think of it, falling for Inuyasha in the first place was foolish in itself. Considering, right after freeing him from his captive sleep under Kikyo's arrow, entwined against the Goshinboku, he turned around and tried to kill her, all for that stupid jewel. It should have been evident from the start that he was less than honorable. How quickly their violent first encounter seemed to fade from her memory, though, with every act of protection. Oh well, all that was in the past. It was best not to brood over the negatives and remember the friendship and trust that stemmed from their mutually beneficial alliance.
Kagome knew though, that as forgiving as she was, her friends might not feel the same way if they ever found out about her transgressions. No harm came from her actions, but they probably wouldn't see it that way. All they would likely see is her 'betrayal' and she didn't want to even think about how they would react. It wasn't a pleasant thought.
Kagome shook off the haze of her musings when she heard what she could have sworn was Shippo screaming for help. The panicked sound was followed by what sounded like Inuyasha, and he sounded furious. Perhaps Shippo had irritated him to the point of punishment, not that it took much, and then fled towards Kagome for safety? Turning to the side, Kagome confirmed that Sango must have heard it too. She was now standing in waist deep water, one arm covering her breasts, the other hand, clenched at her side.
Kagome looked over her shoulder, towards the incoming commotion, just in time to see the pair burst through the bushes. Aggravated at being interrupted and embarrassed about Inuyasha seeing her and Sango naked, Kagome opened her mouth to belt out the dreaded subjugation. Before the words could form on her tongue, however, the scene took a turn for the worst as Inuyasha's razors sharp claws ripped effortlessly through Shippo's tiny body. The small form fell lifelessly into the thick foliage of the forest floor, hiding him from view, but not before Kagome got a time-frozen look into Shippo's vacant eyes.
Inuyasha stood over him, a look of triumph on his face. In total shock, she couldn't believe it; he was pleased with himself!? "How could you?!" she belted out her sorrow and disgust. "Why? He didn't deserve that! You... You... monster! He... He was... my son!" Kagome began sobbing uncontrollably, hiding her face in her hands. Sango opted to comfort her friend while glaring daggers at Inuyasha, who now looked absolutely confused and pathetic.
"No, Kagome, you don't understand," Inuyasha began, trying to explain himself.
"I don't understand what!? That you just killed Shippo in cold blood?" in her traumatic state, Kagome aimed for the harshest words she could find, and it seemed to work.
"That wasn't Shippo," he yelled back in defense, ears flattened against his head ashamedly.
"Huh?" Kagome and Sango both asked, their ire calming a bit.
"Just look for yourselves," he pointed to were the small body fell, hidden from view in the dense undergrowth. "That wasn't Shippo." Rising out of the water, completely forgetting about their bare state of dress, the two peered over the bushes to see nothing there but a small wooden doll wrapped with both red and black hair. "Now do you understand?" Inuyasha huffed and crossed his arms, seemingly perturbed at their lack of trust in him.
"It was a puppet?" Kagome muttered unbelievingly. She wondered why Naraku would have reason to do this, what possible benefit would it hold?
Sango hummed an affirmation, "It must have been. Remember when Naraku took hair from each of us? He must have used it to make a puppet of Shippo. But why him?"
"Wait, where is Shippo?" Kagome suddenly panicked. "Is he alright?" As amiable as Naraku had been towards her lately, there was still a lingering fear out of what he could be capable of.
"Last I saw, he was still playing with those other brats in the village," Inuyasha scoffed unconcernedly, keeping his view averted.
"And Miroku?" Sango asked, but then tried to cover up her feelings with a logical reason. "I mean, if Naraku is nearby, he might be in danger too."
"Same as usual," Inuyasha shrugged, "getting drunk and groping all the pretty women."
Sango's face burned red at this news, 'I just can't leave him alone for a second.' She swiftly dressed and stomped off towards the village, intent on punishing a certain lecher. She figured that with Inuyasha nearby, Kagome would be safe enough without her. The two silently watched the fuming slayer leave, knowing all the while how she really felt towards their flirtatious friend.
"I'm sorry, Inuyasha, for not trusting you," Kagome began apologetically. The urgency of the whole situation finally began dying down, allowing logical thought once again. "I know you'd never really hurt him."
Inuyasha only scoffed in return, and then realized that Kagome was still naked. He quickly turned away after getting an eye-full of her goods. That was all it took for Kagome to remember her state of undress too. "Ahh! You saw me naked, you pervert! SIT BOY!" she screeched, sunk back down into the water, and braced for the familiar impact... but it never came. Cracking open an eye, she found Inuyasha standing over her, at the edge of the hot spring, smirking wickedly down at the immersed girl. Her eyes flew wide at realizing that the necklace wasn't working, and on top of that, Inuyasha was looking at her strange. He looked like he wanted to devour her. She began shaking, uncomfortable under his gaze, "Inu-yasha? Why are you looking at me like that? And why didn't the rosary work?" She couldn't keep the panic out of her voice.
"You want to know?" he asked in an uncharacteristically cryptic manner, his deadly fangs showing. Kagome was barely able to get a nod out of her trembling body. "I'll show you why." She wasn't sure which question he was planning on answering or what was going through his head. "Watch closely."
She stared intently, even as she curled in on herself even further, trying to shrink away from the strange actions of her friend. He continued just standing there with his eyes closed. 'What am I supposed to be watching for?' she wondered. He seemed like he was concentrating; his brow was creased and his fists were clenched. She catalogued every detail in her mind as her eyes strained to spot any clues. It all took only a few seconds, but the pumping adrenaline made it feel much longer. She brought her gaze back up to his face and that's when she saw it. 'His hair, its turning black!' The midnight tresses began at the roots and thoroughly blotted out the shimmering silver strands until none remained. His ears had also begun to sink into his hair and were no doubt vanishing in exchange for human ears on the side of his head. 'He's turning human?' She looked up and could clearly see the half-moon in the night sky; it wasn't his night of weakness, so why? 'Did he learn how to control his transformation? Does that mean he's gotten stronger? Wait, something isn't right. His hair is wavy, and longer than usual. Also, his facial structure is different and his clothes are... changing?' She watched slack-jawed, as the vibrant red material of the fire rat robe flickered before her eyes, fading back and forth between dark purples and bright red, before settling on the shadowed, royal garb that she knew she'd seen somewhere before. 'What's going on here?' Seemingly to answer her unspoken question, his red eyes opened languidly, revealing the only possible explanation. "Naraku?" She asked, dumbfounded. "But, I- and you- how can- that means-"
His amused chuckle cut off her unintelligible babble, "I know you are intelligent enough to piece together a coherent sentence, let's try that, hmm?"
"Hey!" Kagome snapped back, unsure if she should be flattered or insulted. "You can't blame me for being confused. This whole time I thought I was talking to Inuyasha." She gave an annoyed glare, then realized the entirety of his charade. "Wait, you staged Shippo's death on purpose! That's so cruel. Were you intentionally trying to get me upset?"
"It was a necessary step if I were to get you alone," he acknowledged, admitting he purposely tormented her.
"Necessary? How? Why?" she questioned, outraged at his methods.
He grinned maniacally, unfazed, "Would you have rather I approached you, and the slayer, calmly in my current form? Perhaps you think such an encounter would have accomplished the same ends?"
"Well, no," she admitted, crossing her arms and turning her head away briefly, "but you could have in the form of Inuyasha."
"Really?" he mocked fiendishly, thoroughly enjoying this game. "Are you to tell me that if Inuyasha interrupted your bathing, without reason, and spied you so lusciously disrobed, you would not have sent him face first into the ground?" he made sure to gesture to her barely hidden flesh, enticing and tempting him to sample her. His reasoning finally registered on her face, since if he had done as she just suggested, she would have tried to 'sit' Inuyasha, alerting them both to the delusive authenticity of their 'comrade.' In enacting such a dramatic entrance, she forgot all about the possibility of using her compelling command, keeping Naraku's mimicry firmly in place.
"Fine," Kagome pouted dramatically, having been defeated; "I guess I'll forgive you for your atrocious tactics, but just this once." She raised a finger as if scolding a child, showing emphasis on one time only. In doing so, she accidentally uncovered one breast, to his enjoyment.
Her words seemed to have the opposite effect than she intended, if anything, he looked flattered by her summation. 'Well, of course,' she reminded herself, 'this is Naraku afterall. He prides himself on his sadistic reputation.'
"Forgiveness is a trivial matter," he brushed off her antics and began walking around the border of the hot spring, "its presence, or lack there of, hold no sway over my actions." He continued along the perimeter, passing the overgrown path Sango recently trod down. "You truly have no concept of how depraved I can be." On his trek around the spring, Naraku couldn't help but bring a most delectable scenario into the forefront of his thoughts: the image of Kagome screaming in pain and ecstasy as he rammed into her mercilessly, as he would surely be doing here soon. Kagome kept her eyes on him, noting his lewd smirk and ever aware of her nudity as she tried to keep his view obstructed by the intermittently placed stones. Seemingly having found what he sought, he stopped walking, then to Kagome's horror and embarrassment, began disrobing.
"Ahhh! What do you think you're doing?" she wailed shrilly. Embarrassment and panic caused her eyes to dart around for an escape path.
"Surely, you do not expect me to bathe with my clothing on," he mocked, making his actions out to be purely innocent. His ensemble had several layers with complex ties and he laid each one out on a sturdy branch before moving on to the next.
"Bathe? Your coming in here?" she stuttered awkwardly. "But... but, I'm naked." As unsure as she was, she couldn't help but watch transfixed as he rid his torso of the last piece of clothing that hid his flawlessly toned chest from her view.
"And deliciously so," he noted, dropping the innocent act as quickly as he assimilated it. Her heart pounded as she watched his skilled fingers make short work of the ties holding up his hakamas. She swiftly looked away with a deep blush staining her cheeks just as they began to sag.
"What do you intend to do?" her defiance turned into a timid whisper, realizing that even though the exit was on her side of the spring, in order to take it she'd have to let him see her entire nude body. Not only that but he was much faster. He'd probably pluck her up with a tentacle without even moving from his place.
"I think you know," his insinuation was punctuated by the disturbance in the water not ten feet behind her.
Still determinedly looking away, Kagome's mind buzzed frantically, 'Oh my god, oh my god, calm down Kagome, breathe. You're just taking a bath, naked, with Naraku. Ahhh! What if he, if he, tries to, do stuff,' she slapped her hands to her blushing face. 'What am I going to do? Do I let him? Do I really want that? I know males in this era have entitlement issues. Will he force me if I turn him down? But, what if Sango sees Inuyasha at the village and comes back to get me? What if she sees me with Naraku? They'd hate me.'
Naraku casually stepped into the hot spring, lowering himself down into the searing depths. His body was designed for fighting, not for enjoying physical sensation; his limbs and torso were all but numb. This was so he would not be distracted by the pain of injuries in the heat of battle, and could always think rationally, rather than panicky. As such, the scalding hot spring felt only mildly warmer than the outside air. He cast a glance over to see Kagome still trembling in anxiety, and decided on his course of action. She would fall right into his arms.
Kagome must have sat there fretting, letting her mind run away with her, for several long minutes before realizing that the water's movement had long since ceased and Naraku had done nothing. Tentatively, she glanced over her shoulder to see him reclined at the edge of the heated pool. An involuntary gasp escaped her lips at the immaculate sight. His built arms, held above his head as he gripped the stones at the edge of the spring, seemed to ripple in time with the mild waves. The growing urge to run her fingers along the taut flesh began bubbling up as her eyes continued to take in his visage. His inky black hair melded perfectly with the water, floating along the surface and creating an abyssal illusion. She imagined twining her fingers in its silken waves, and shuddered pleasurably. Floating languidly on the water's surface, she could plainly see the solid plains of muscle that covered his chest, so beautiful and alluring. He looked like a fallen angel. His eyes were closed, expression softened, making him look peaceful, and dare she think it, even kind.
"You're… not going to do anything?" Kagome asked bewildered, thinking his prior insinuations where much more perverse than a simple bath. She couldn't help but be a little disappointed; albeit, relieved at the same time.
"Is that an invitation?" Naraku quipped, directing his searing red eyes in her direction with that same mischievous smirk.
"N-no!" she quickly stammered. "You just stay over there and I'll stay over here." He just chuckled at her pathetic attempts to command him and establish boundaries.
Silence settled over the steam-laden patch of forest. Naraku was in no hurry, having already accounted for every possible obstruction in the time leading up to this night. He had contracted a local demon to make occasion rounds to this forest area to scare away the villagers to ensure no unexpected visitors. There would likely only be one expected intrusion and he had a plan for that too; a plan that should give them complete privacy for the rest of the night and eliminate suspicion pertaining to Kagome's absence. Had he taken her at any of his prior visits, there would have only been time for a rushed release, leaving her feeling used and regretful, not to mention having his intentions revealed to all. No, what he needed was for her to trust him and have no adverse reactions to their activities; that would take time.
Time was a luxury Kagome did not realize they had. For as calm as Naraku was, she was near frantic. She was sure that at any minute her companions would come rushing into the area to save her. How could he be so relaxed? Sango must have made it to the village by now, right? And whom would she see there but Inuyasha, who was supposedly with her. It would give away Naraku's whole plot and send them rushing to save her from the imposter. Then they would see them here, together, just sitting in the hot spring, not fighting as they should be. Everything was about to fall apart.
As amusing as her wild mood-swings were, Naraku needed her calm and comfortable, "Something troubles you."
"Well, yeah," Kagome exclaimed, thinking that maybe he just realized the impending confrontation, "my friends should be here any minute now!"
"How do you figure?" he taunted with an unconcealed grin.
"Well, Sango is pretty fast, especially when she's angry, and once she gets to the village and sees Inuyasha there…" her voice trailed off in worry. This was not a confrontation she wanted any time soon. His amused snicker interrupted her morbid thoughts. She couldn't figure out just what was so funny. Was he looking forward to displaying her 'betrayal' to her friends?
"You place far too much trust in your pet dog," he stated with slight disgust. He didn't like that she still had so much reliance on the useless mutt, but that would make it all the sweeter in the end.
"Wha-what do you mean? Inuyasha always comes for me," she defended. "He's not going to just abandon me, no matter how grumpy he may still be."
"That is all assuming he is still within the village," he pointed out.
"Isn't he?" Kagome inquired weakly. Why wouldn't he be? That was where they were staying tonight and it was already getting dim.
He sneered that she thought he would overlook such a blatant detail. "No," his word blunt and decisive. "Would you like to make a guess as to whose company he has run to?"
"Oh, I see..." Kagome trailed off after a brief pause. Settling down behind her small boulder. She didn't want to speak that name out loud: Kikyo. It did make sense though, he always ran to her when he was in a foul mood. "I don't trust her," she admitted aloud, mentally noting the irony that she gave no contest to his claim and now trusted his words.
"Nor do I," Naraku agreed with Kagome's summation. He predicted that Inuyasha would remain with her for the entirety of the night, but had Kanna watching them just in case. If they did part company prematurely, he'd have to put a distraction into play to keep him away from the village.
"So wait, does that mean...?" Kagome choked on the rest of that sentence, finally realizing she was, in fact, completely alone with Naraku for what might be the entire night! She looked to him for an answer, chewing on her lower lip nervously as the anxiety swelled up into her throat.
"Precisely," he leered intensely. The look he gave her told of how this was not going to be a brief night; she wasn't sure if she should be horrified or excited.
