Chapter Sixteen, Secrets revealed and mating!
The knock could be heard again, “daddy?”
InuYasha scrambled out of the shower, taking Kagome with him. Giving her a towel
he opened the closet door and took out two bathrobes. They both must of been his
for when she dressed her self in it, it touched the floor and covered her hands.
InuYasha snickered a little at the scene before him, that was Kagome. Wearing a
overly large robe, she looked to much like a midget in a giant’s clothing.
Twisting the knob he opened the door, presenting a sleepy eyed Sorano. She first
looked at her dad, than at Kagome and her eyes grew wide. The adults noticed how
she blinked, as if not believing what she saw. Kagome scoffed, hoping that the little
angel wouldn’t ask to many questions.
The hanyou was the first to speak, “Morning pup.” He greeted his daughter, bending
down to pick her up. Sorano let him, still staring at her father - wide eyed. Pure
confusion displayed in her amber gaze, clearly to young to understand whad had
happened in there.
“Daddy, does Kagome know your secret?” The eight-year old asked, running a small
hand across her fathers damp face. The whole keeping his identity hidden from the
world, was something he’d taught his daughter early on. Sesshoumaru as well, but he
had not ears like her dad did.
InuYasha chuckled low, but nodded. “She knows, now are you hungry? And by the
way, why are you up already? It can’t be more then six am.”
Sorano rubbed her left eye, yawning. “I couldn’t sleep, there is a monster under my
bed. He was going like this,” she imitated a few noises that made the couple freeze,
it almost sounded like moans and gasps of lovers in ecstacy.
‘She must have heard us, and the sounds filtered into her slumber...’ Kagome
thought, while InuYasha to bto busy feeling somewhat bad for forgetting to keep
quiet. He didn’t want his little girl to be exposed to things like this... it would lead
to questions he really wasn’t ready to answer.
“Well...” InuYasha tried. “Since we’re all up we can eat breakfast.” Kagome noticed
the sly change of subject. But Sorano was more then happy that they could eat, “she
was hungy” , she claimed.
Walking into the kitchen, Kagome started to take out a bowl and the ingredients for
pancakes. She herself, was not a heavy breakfast person. But she knew, by the looks
of the two that now stood there next to her, they were.

While Kagome was mixing the batter InuYasha took his daughter to get dressed for
thed ald ald also call the hospital - excusing himself from a days work. Sorano didn’t
have school on Thursdays, and the hanyou figured it would be a good time to go
check out that apartment.
Coming back into the kitchen, InuYasha inhaled deep. It smelt wonderful, Kagome’s
own unique scent mixed with delicious breakfast dishes. Sneaking up behind her, he
encircled her waist, where she stood scrambling eggs.
“You can go dress if you want, I’ll take over.” His voice but a whisper, but a sweet
kiss was planted on her cheek, that made her stomach tingle.
Nodding, she turned only to brush past the man she’d come to care for so much she
was sure it was love. Sorano stood in the door opening staring. Did this mean that
Kagome was going to be her mommy? She could only hope..

Sesshoumaru sat in his office, swinging in his chair. It was way to early to do anything
yet, but he had trouble finding sleep. The whole thing still irked deep in his core,
why he had reacted on InuYasha’s rage? He was pretty sure it had empowered him
somehow, so much as the matter of fact that he’d lost control.
He was fast normally, but make it to the hospital in less then a few seconds was just
mind-bothering, how had that been possible? There was one possibility that was
farfetched, but somehow soothing. What if the answer to his question was as simple
as, Sorano?
Ever since that girl was born, and brought into his house. He’d been watching over
her like a hawk. It was not normal family love, it was deeper running in his blood -
he saw her as his own pup.
Clearly he knew it was InuYasha’s child, but still.... it was almost as if he’d given a
part of himself, a part that was reserved for his offspring - if he ever had any.
Sesshou gra grabbed the bottom of his chin, maybe it was time to have a pup on his
own? He knew of course Sorano would always have a special place in his heart, but if
hd chd children of his own, he wouldn’t have to worry about losing control. He’d
never admit it aloud, but it had scared the wits out of him. Always being a man of
reasons, a man that knew what he was doing - always. Sesshoumaru was just simply
scared to lose himself like that, again.
But at the same time, thoughts of kids scared him too. He really didn’t want any, or
did he? He was a strong persoe coe could handle anything! Right? Just that the
thought of having little runts run around him, pulling his hair and drool all over him
and his house, wasn’t to pleasant.
The phone ringing brought him out of his thoughts, ‘who could be calling at this
hour?’
Picking it up he placed the cold material against his cheek, “Yes?”
At first there was just silence, “Who’s there?” He tried, sounding more harsh trying
to taunt the person on the other end to speak.
“Sesshou...maru?” A woman’s voice so faint but he heard it was gasping over the
line, making his demon blood freeze. “Rin?” What could have happened? Why wasn’t
she talking? Why did it sound like shuffling of feet, as if someone was running, in the
background?
“Help..” Was the last word he heard her say before the line went dead.
Bolting out of his chair, Sesshoumaru wasted no time to run to his garage and climb
aboard his fastest car. Racing out the driveway and out on the street only one thing
was on his mind, she was hurt and he had to get to her.

Parking the car outside Rin’s house, Sesshoumaru ran to the front door. Not even
hesitating before he ripped it into shreds leaving nothing more then splinters spread
across the porch.
Using his enhanced senses he quickly located the whereabouts of his woman, upstairs
in the bedroom. Flying the flight of stairs, and crashing into the room he was greeted
by a horrifying scene.
On the bed laid his Rin, his beautiful lady in a pool of blood. The walls was sprayed as
well indicating she had been stabbed or worse almost hacked into pieces. Her pulse
was low, so low he was fearing for her life. What could he do? There was no way to
make it to the hospital in time, she wouldn’t survive thee!
