Suddenly Inuyasha’s body lurched up and wide eyes opened to see Shippo.

“Oh Shippo, please take me from this place!”

Pearl begged as she looked at Kouga frightened of the wolf grasping Shippo who looked at Kouga with a frown.

“I can’t believe you whip females. I’m glad Kagome never agreed to be with you.”

Shippo said angrily to the wolf.

Kouga looked at Inuyasha and sniffed the air. Inuyasha was now a female hanyou, and a pretty one at that with the blood of the Inu No Tashio in her veins.

“Come with me, both of you.”

Kouga said as he gave no room for argument and the wolves surrounded them making sure they followed their leader’s order.

“Shippo, I want to go. Please say I can stay with you.”

Pearl said grasping his arm for dear life.

“Pearl I will find out what Kouga wants first and then we will go. I swear I won’t let anyone hurt you again.”

Shippo stated as he patted her arm and the two of them followed the wolf Lord.

Kouga thought about things. His son was of age to choose a mate and this would solidify the alliance between his kingdom and the kingdom of the West. Thing was, knowing Sesshoumaru the man would probably be selfish wanting the pretty hanyou for himself and never mate her. If the prophesy was true then he wanted his family involved directly. It would be tricky, but Kouga was certain he could get his son interested in the young hanyou female.

The wolves led them into Kouga’s den where more wolves watched the fox and the hanyou enter their Lord’s chambers.

“Ayame, gather the females and find suitable attire for this hanyou.”

Kouga ordered his mate.

Ayame nodded and rushed to go gather female furs for the young woman.

“We will feast and then we shall talk young Shippo.”

Kouga said having the two sit with him while the wolves ran out to go get fresh meat for the morning meal.

Pearl didn’t trust this and clung to Shippo as if her life depended on it. She wanted to go back to Baba and the fox village where it was safe. She felt something was very wrong here.

“Shippo, we need to get out of here.”

Pearl whispered to Shippo who nodded, but knew that Pearl could not fight her way out of this. He did come here for help and he owed Kouga at least the courtesy of listening to what he was proposing,

“We will. Be patient. The wolves are not going to just let us leave freely of our own accord.”

Shippo said just so Pearl could hear him.

The females came back with a fur kilt in white with fine armor that was similar to Ayame’s except for the midriff was to be bared to show that she was not one of the Alpha females.

“I can’t wear that.”

Pearl said with a frown to Shippo.

“Please, do not cause disharmony here. Just humor them.”

Shippo said as the females took Pearl away so she could be changed.

“Shippo, do you have an interest in the female?”

Kouga asked not wanting to tread on Shippo since the boy had the right to vie for the hanyou as well.

“Yes, but purely as the son of Inuyasha. I already have a mate set up for me in my village.”

Shippo said honestly.

“My son is without a mate and I am thinking of having the hanyou as his intended. Inu No Tashio’s blood runs through her veins and that power would be well used here in my tribe.”

Kouga stated not beating around the bush.

“That is up to Pearl. I promised Inuyasha she would make her own choices…….”

Shippo began to say.

“Shippo. She is a woman and she obviously doesn’t know what she wants. This isn’t like Kagome and now that I am older and wiser I know that things would have never worked for me and a human.’
“This is a hanyou and you know that without guidance she could be destructive. She is afraid and needs a strong male to care for her. My son likes Inu females, but has yet to find one that is of decent power to produce heirs. We both know that Inuyasha’s blood is strong and that the cubs born from such a powerful hanyou would be coveted. I doubt my boy would mind she is hanyou.”

Kouga stated as he bid his son to come forward.

“Shippo you are Inuyasha’s son and the head of his family. I do not even consider Lord Sesshoumaru as part of Inuyasha’s family as you well know. The decision is yours and I will fight by your side to stop the Lord of the West to insure my family remains together.”

Kouga stated.

“I want to say yes Lord Kouga, but I need to consult Pearl first. Kagome was given a choice and Inuyasha would not want Pearl to not have that same choice.”

Shippo said.

“Very well. However I do ask that my son be allowed to court her.”

Kouga stated.

“That I will agree to.”

Shippo said feeling a bit better about this situation. That was until the foundations shook and a large white quite angry dog demon barged into the den with an army of Inu soldiers.
