As I sit on the back of InuYasha’s bike, blaring down the street at well over 60 miles an hour and swerving between cars, I contemplate what has happened in the last 24hrs. First and foremost was my success last night at the races. It is unfortunate that Sango was not able to see the accomplishment and enjoy it with me, with what happened after Ayame put her out of the race. At the very least she will be able to have retribution with her try out today.
InuYasha drops another gear and kicks his bike into high gear. This speed is absolutely what I need after the emotional turmoil. Now granted I haven’t forgiven the bastard for what he did, but at least he is helping me a little bit. He might not know it, but this is cathartic for me and is actually getting to ease my mind. I unconsciously hold on just a bit tighter as I remember his proclamation of love to me from the night before. This fills me with happiness that I couldn’t explain in that moment.
Just as quickly though, I feel my hold slacken slightly as I remember what happened directly after that. I have started to wonder why he had the reaction that he did when Kikyo brought up that he was still hers, or should I say lack of reaction. That’s something I will either never know or if he is going to try to make things better, I will have him tell me.
InuYasha feels her let up her grip a bit and he slows his bike down. He can also smell the gut wrenching sadness coming from his princess. He knows above all else that he is the one that had caused this pain… Over and over again in the course of the last day. He just doesn’t understand why he was such an idiot.
He didn’t want Kikyo anymore but why couldn’t he stay the hell away from her last night. He knew that she used to be a very well regarded miko, so he started wondering if maybe she had tried to bewitch him somehow.. Then there was the promise he made on that fateful night, just before he found out what she had done with Bank and that was just the one instance among the throngs of other men apparently.
Kikyo knew he wouldn’t be able to tell what had happened between her and Bank. She knew how to mask the scent of another man from her skin. She had been doing it since she started dating the hanyou. She had never been a faithful lover to the bastard. She was using him for his name and stature in the community. Not to mention the mounds of money his family possessed. That was the icing on the proverbial cake for her.
InuYasha had promised to always be by her side, no matter what happened and he pledged his undying love to her. He had told her this and they had spent the next few hours in a very passionate love making session. Kikyo’s phone rang while she was showering and InuYasha answered, thinking how odd it was that someone would call in the wee hours of the morning. When the caller identified himself as Bank, and had also proclaimed every single sordid detail of his affair with Kikyo, InuYasha almost couldn’t believe it. He had been so thoroughly played, he felt like the biggest fucking idiot on the planet.
He left a short note for her; it was better than seeing her conniving bitch face to deal with her. What a whore she was. Bank had also told him of all the affairs that she had in the 2 years that she had supposedly been faithful to him. His note basically told her to stay the fuck away from him and to never contact him again. He indicated that he knew exactly what she had been doing behind his back and was done with her.
He drifted out his thoughts to once again focus on the woman holding him. She smelled so good. He knew she was a miko but she was absolutely 100% pure, in all senses of the word. Her body had never been so much as touched by a man with carnal pleasures in mind. The most she had done was maybe a bit of heavy petting. She was too untrained to hide something like this from anyone. He gave a bit of a shiver, almost knowing that he would be the one to show her the first pleasures of the flesh. He wanted to show her all the love he was feeling for her.
He had tried to make sure she understood how important honor was for his family by having Sesshomaru come to the shrine to talk to her. He was pretty sure she understood the implications of what he was offering with the protection he offered as well as the apology that he had not asked him to make. That kind of made him look like even more of an asshole actually.
She saw the rink come into view as they turned the corner. She was kind of relieved that she could start concentrating on her job so that this damn sadness would dissipate a little bit. He turned into the parking lot and she saw that both the sisters had just arrived. She was hoping that she wouldn’t have to get into it right away. He stopped the bike just in front of the doors as Kaede was opening up for them.
I hop off the bike as I hear him turn the engine off. I start to take off my helmet but feel the clawed hand of my chauffeur grab my wrist to stop me. He had his off already and was lovingly taking the strap of mine as my hands fall away. My head and eyes automatically move to the ground and I can feel the flush starting. I do not want this to happen in front of Kikyo. I was pretty sure he wanted to say something to me and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to listen to him. I could feel his eyes on me as well as Kikyo’s. She had not entered the building, even though Kaede was already inside.
InuYasha grasped the helmet from her head and saw that she was not looking at him and she was trying not to for all that it was worth. He set the helmet on the back of the bike and looked at her again. Kikyo was watching everything that was happening with rapt interest but he couldn’t care less. He knew that Kagome didn’t want to be in this situation though, especially because she was her boss. ‘There’s nothing for it.’ He grasped her chin with his fingers gently and slowly forced her to look at him. He could see and smell the tears that were starting.
“Please let me spend some time with you this afternoon when you get off of work.” He said in a whisper so that only she could hear. He was very close to her and he took a small whiff of what should have been a delightful scent. That scent was marred by so much despair he wasn’t sure how to handle it. His beast was starting to rebel against him and was starting to take over, it wanted nothing more than to calm and soothe his distressed mate. He unconsciously leaned forward and grabbed her.
I stiffened when I felt him hold me. I am not going to deny that I really felt like I needed to be held at the moment, but I was still so unsure on if it should be him that was holding me. I eep’d a bit as I felt the soothing rumble in his chest. His face was buried in my shoulder where he had placed his mark on me. I then felt his tongue stroke that mark as I turned my head.
“Mine. Mate.” He said in a deep husky tone. I knew in that moment that it wasn’t InuYasha speaking, it was his beast. I slowly tried to remove myself from the situation before I started to ball my head off again. I just knew that this could not be good for me or my ‘relationship’ with him. If we wanted to seriously make this work, he had to do one thing. He had to make me absolutely and 100% certain of his feelings for me, and ONLY me.
“What the hell are you doing InuYasha?!?” screeched my boss. She had this tone about her that reminded me of fingernails on a chalkboard. I try to pull away from InuYasha but to no avail.
“I’m comforting my mate. What does it look like I’m doing?” He said to her in a casual tone, like it was the most natural thing in the world. I look up at him to see him sneering in her direction. She started walking towards us. I tried again to pull away but he held me steadfast.
“I’m to be your mate, you promised me you would love me forever and always be there for me!” she screamed at him. I am still trying to extract myself so they can talk but he won’t let me. It’s like he wants me there, I don’t know if it’s to be a distraction or if he thinks that I need to hear this.
“I promised you that a long time ago. There is also the issue of you being a lying, conniving whore who sleeps around. I believe that I found you had been unfaithful to me about… oh let’s see… the WHOLE TIME WE WERE TOGETHER!!!! How the hell would you even think that I would hold fast to that promise? Huh? Are you just that stupid?” He yelled at her as I could feel his anger rising. I didn’t want him to lose control here, there were going to be families showing up soon. I wrapped my arms around him and started rubbing soothing circles on his back and I snuggled my head against his shoulder so I could no longer see her. I could feel him starting to calm a bit.
“ Awe, but Yash you promised.” She continued to whine at him.
“First of all, don’t CALL ME THAT!! I hated it when we were together and I hate it now. I am going to stay with Kagome as long as she’ll have me and after. She is my true mate and you were nothing but a cold undeserving bitch.” He says calmly.
“I’ll just fire her sorry ass, and then you’ll see. She’s a good for nothing…” She said but never had the chance to finish her sentence. InuYasha was out of my embrace so quick I fell against the bike. I saw his leather clad body rush towards her and saw him with his deadly claws wrapped around her neck. She was starting to gasp for breath.
“If you ever threaten her again, I will have father foreclose on you so fast you won’t know what hit you. Do you understand me you stupid cunt?!?” He growled low and I could tell this was just a warning to let her know he was serious. I now understand a few things about the sisters. I never thought they seemed like the type to own a business like this, I didn’t think they came from enough money for that.
“I… I… I’mmmm soooorrry Inuuuu…. I woonnn’ttt bother her at allll.” She stuttered. She knew she had pushed a button she shouldn’t have. She just didn’t think he was that serious about her, he was never that serious with her. Kikyo was trembling with fear and crying.
I looked on in stunned awe at the scene before me. I couldn’t believe the way he reacted when she threatened my job. It really wasn’t that I was concerned at the moment because there is no way in hell that Kaede would allow her to fire me. I was an asset to the company as a whole and I showed up for work and even did overtime when needed. I look over to the door as I see Kaede standing there watching what was going on. I was somewhat surprised she didn’t step in to stop this mess but then again, she was always the level headed one.
“Kikyo it is time for the deposit. Come in and let’s get this done.” Kaede says as InuYasha drops Kikyo unceremoniously on her ass. InuYasha brushed his hands against his pants and turned to look at me.
“Um… Thank you for that but you didn’t have to do that. I know you two have a history and I would have gladly just gotten out of the way so you could have talked. I didn’t need to be in the middle of your argument; honestly I could have just gone in to the rink and start…” I am stopped mid sentence as InuYasha grasps my hips and brings me to his body in a scorching kiss. I was not prepared for this and gasp slightly. This gives him the opportunity to slip his talented tongue in my mouth. ‘Oh my god!’ I all but moan as my knees start to go weak. Just as I thought I would pass out from the kiss, he slowly removes himself.

“I’m sorry princess; I didn’t mean to do that… I mean, I did… but …. AHHH!! I don’t know what the hell I mean. I’m so damn sorry. I just wanted you to know that you are my everything now. I think that bitch put a spell on me last night or something. I just can’t prove it.” He sighed as he looked down at his angel.
“Ok InuYasha. I am trying to understand this and wrap my head around what’s happening. I kind of feel like if, and that is a big IF, I let you try to make amends for what’s happened, we should slow down a little. I’m still really confused.” I say to him as I shift my bag.
“I have to get in to get to work now. I would really like it if you came to meet me after this session is done. I mean it’s just before the next try outs anyway, so you kind of have to be here anyway.” I laugh a little as I scratch the back of my head.
