Sango nudged at Kagome,
silently telling her friend that it was time for the watch change. Kagome nodded
and got up on her feet. Sango sat down in her place instead and leaned her back
against the wall. Sesshoumaru had told her about Miroku�s odd behaviour and she
had one or two clues to why he acted the way he did. But she was not ready to
even breathe about them. No, it was not her place to say anything about it. Her
trail of thoughts was interrupted by the terrified mumblings from the eerie girl
and she moved over and took her pale hand into her own, hoping it would give the
abused child some comfort.

It is ok Kanna-chan, you are
safe. Both you and your sister are safe, nothing can harm you anymore, the
taijya whispered with her most soft voice.

-
Don�t let him take us, please�
NOOO!!! the girl screamed.

Shh, no one is going to take
you, you are well guarded here with us.
Sesshoumaru rushed
through the door, but was hushed down by Sango. He relaxed and took a seat next
to his mate.

They must have been through
something horrifying, whispered Sango.

Are they going to be ok?

not tell you how their mind will work after this. Who ever did this made sure
they was hurting, in every way possible, said Sango, her voice laced with hatred
for who ever had done this to the girls.

I would bet my gold on Naraku,
but if they had escaped they should be dead by now, said Sesshoumaru with a
confused frown.

Why do you say that my love?

Because Kagura once told me that
Naraku held her heart, and it was because of this she was forced to do his
bidding. I guess it is the same with Kanna. But since they are still alive,
although they have been severely punished for some reason, they should have been
dead, said Sesshoumaru.
Sango�s dark eyes latched
themselves on Kagura�s closed fist, and she was beginning to understand the wind
witch fear to open her hand. She probably held her and maybe her sister�s heart
in her hand � literary.

Sesshoumaru-sama? a small raspy
voice came from Kagura.

Yes Kagura-san, acknowledged the
lord.

Where are we?

You are being cared for in the
village of the miko Kaede-sama, it lays nearby the forest that bares my
brother�s name, said Sesshoumaru and moved to sit beside the red eyed girl.

B-being cared for??

Yes Kagura-san, you fell from
the skies nearby, the houshi got help and we carried you here.

to do, said Sango and smiled warmly towards Kagura.
Kagura felt a soft ripple
go through her chest and she knew that she was about to cry. �Fuck, I have
never cried in my entire life.� She cursed her own weakness.

healed, but I guess you feel a throbbing ache for one or two days more, said
Sango.

Kanna too?

Yes, your sister is almost fully
healed. She has nightmares though� Sango trailed off.

I will fucking kill him for what
he did to her, snarled Kagura and made a move to rise a bit. Sesshoumaru laid a
supporting arm behind her back, helping her to reach her goal.

My guess is that Naraku did this
to you? said Sango.

Of course, who else would have
the power over us?
�That was quite
confident.� thought Sango
with bitterly amusement.

Kagura-san, you have gotten your
heart back I assume? asked Sesshoumaru.

Yes, we were wounded during the
struggle over our hearts, said Kagura and opened her hand. Two small blood red
jewels glowed in the morning sun.

So you are free now? Like the
wind is supposed to be? Sango launched a bright smile.

Like the wind, said Kagura and
responded to the slayer�s smile.
But they were interrupted
by the crying sounds coming from Kanna. Kagura moved to cradle her sister in her
arms, and with the help from Sango she was able to embrace the crying girl.

Kanna-chan, we are going to be
just fine, we are safe, we have gotten ourselves some very good friends,
whispered the wind youkai into the bleach white hair.

Oneesan, mumbled the girl who
actually was older than Kagura.

-
Yes little sister, I am here, we
are going to be ok. I promise you.

-
Do not ever leave me oneesan�

-
I will always be here for you
Kanna-chan, always.
And with that the pale
girl went back to sleep. Kagura was relieved. This was going to work after all.
�And we are free little sister, we are free as my wind
magic.�

Sango felt tears flood
her eyes and she mumbled an excuse and went outside. �This pup is making me
too damn emotional.� she sighed and took a deep breathe of fresh air. She
soon felt the strong arms of Sesshoumaru encircle her waist.

Are you ok mate? he asked with
concern.

-
Yes, I am ok Sesshou, just
hormonal, said Sango.
Sesshoumaru smiled into
her hair and caressed the small bulge under her kimono. He was indeed one happy
dog demon.
