Chapter 19 - And�the foot goes, where?

Inuyasha paced back and forth outside the well, muttering to himself. He had been pacing since the previous day after he had talked to Myoga, and there was a path worn next to the well from about 24 hours of constant pacing. He looked like hell. His hair was disheveled, and standing up wildly in places, because he had run his hand through it about 1000 times while he was pacing. He was as tense as he could possibly get, because he was definitely not looking forward to telling Kagome that she is now �officially� his mate, whether she likes it or not. He cringed for about the 500^th time, anticipating the hundreds of �sits� he was probably going to get when he told her. But worst of all, he was sure she was going to cry, and that was something that he just couldn�t handle.
This was the scene that Kagome was greeted with, when she climbed out of the well. Inuyasha was so distracted that he didn�t even notice her return. �Wow.� Thought a stunned Kagome. �I think he�s finally cracked.� Kagome sat on the side of the well and watched Inuyasha pace back and forth, muttering to himself, and nervously running his hands through his hair.
Suddenly he stopped short in front of her, and looked at her as if she were the manifestation of his worst nightmare.
�Inuyahsa? Are you Okay?� Kagome looked at him with a concerned frown on her face.
�Yes. Uh�no.� Inuyasha forced himself to stop moving, and sat down next to Kagome on the well wall. �I-I �*gulp*�I have to tell you something.�
The tone of his voice had Kagome really worried. �Inuyasha,� she said in a quiet, trembling voice, �did somebody die while I was gone?� She looked like she was about to panic.
Inuyasha looked at her with a blank face, unable to form words.
�Oh no!� Kagome suddenly wailed. �Who was it? Was it Kaede? Or�*sob*�Miroku, or Sango.� She said as she burst out in tears.
Inuyasha placed his hand on her shoulder, �Kagome,� he gently pulled her into a tight hug and rocked her against his chest, �it�s ok�shhhhh��, he continued to rock her and hold her. Finally, after she stopped crying, and he had carefully wiped the tears from her face, he began to speak again.
�Myoga came to speak with me today,� he began, �and he gave me some news that I have to share with you.� Inuyasha began to stroke her hair, while he continued to rock her against his chest.
He took a deep breath and continued, �He told me�� he paused, trying to think of a delicate way to tell her, �um�that he performed the blood bond on us, without our knowing about it, so now we�re mated, and that�s why we have been feeling strange.� he finally finished, feeling proud that he had been able to deliver his news with such calmness and finesse.
Kagome slowly pulled away from, and stared at his face in total shock. �What?� she whispered.
�Myoga�� Inuyasha began again.
Kagome cut him off, �No. I heard you. Why?�
Inuyasha took a deep breath, and ran his hand through his hair again, �Something about there having to be an heir to the western lands�.�

Kagome interrupted him again, �So,� she said more loudly, now, �he made us �mates�, without telling us�because, he needs us to�breed?!� she finished in a high-pitched shriek.
Inuyasha�s ears flattened against his head, and he looked down and nodded.
�A-and you�re�okay with this?� she asked him with a stricken look on her face.
�Um�I dunno.� Inuyasha mumbled.
Kagome looked like she was about to explode. �So�what do you intend to do about this, then?�
Inuyasha looked at Kagome uncertainly. He really didn�t know what to do, so he said the first thing that came to his mind. �Um�well�.we could just�.go with it�� he said looking up at Kagome hopefully.
�GO WITH IT????� ARE YOU FUCKING NUTS, INUYASHA?!?!��GO with IT?!�WHAT THE HELL?!�. Do you mean to say�.that now I am forced to be your mate, and therefore I should just jump in bed with you, and�and�BREED?!?!� she asked, her voice rising again towards the end.
Inuyasha winced at her outburst; unfortunately, his brain still hadn�t come out of shock from the news, so he shoved that big �ol foot right back in his mouth. �Well, yeah�I thought we could�.�

By the time Kagome had jumped back into the well, she had knocked Inuyasha unconscious with all of the incantations. When she got home, she flung herself into the house, and ran directly up to her room, crying hard the entire way.
