Chapter 19: Invasion of the Fortress in the Clouds Part I
A/N: Here it is finally… some kick ass action! Enjoy!
With Inuyasha and Kouga…
“Dammit Mutt face watch it!” Kouga shouted as he tackled Inuyasha from the Inu left side to the ground.
Kouga intervened just in time to avoid a huge scythe with a five foot long jagged blade that was aimed with deadly accuracy at the Inu hanyou neck.
The scythe acting similar to Sango’s boomerang missed Kouga and Inuyasha necks by a hair, came back toward the pair for a second attempt to take both their lives only for the two canines to roll to the right and avoid the youkai weapon of destruction that twirled inches from the ground were they once laid. After missing them a second time, said scythe like a faithful pet returned to its master hand.
Instead of saying something along the lines of “I don’t need help from a scrawny little wolf like you” and Kouga replying with his usual sarcastic remarks of how slow the “mutt” was, Inuyasha along with Kouga quickly got to their feet to survey the ten youkai who were either ballsy, suicidal or just plain stupid for invading his deadly sibling mother home.
As far as they could tell there was a diverse group of youkai invaders. There were two elementals one with orange hair of fire that was constantly ablaze on his head. He seemed to have the ability to control fire by using a six foot long spear that had an old male face carved into the top side of the staff. It was similar to Jaken Staff of Two Heads except it was missing the face of the young woman with the dark hair, it was the same height as the fire youkai and it had a sizeable blade at the tip of the staff. His skin had a light orange color to it. The other elemental that had hair that constantly moved in waves and changed colors from dark blue to a clear crisp blue much like the ocean. This elemental wields a staff with a blue large curved blade at the tip. The blade had a glistening shine to it and appeared to be moving as if a current of water was always flowing within the blade. There was also a 10 feet tall green ogre youkai with three black eyes, bulging muscles and a hairless body. There were also tall slim Neko youkai with black slits for pupils, a long slender tail and large black claws. A hebi youkai with snake bottom half in place of his legs, forked tongue and yellow eyes with black slits for pupils was in the mix. Also, a short monkey youkai with extremely long powerful arms, and long fangs, a medium height dark hair muscular Inu youkai, a crow youkai with dark feathers in the place of its hair on its head and talons for feet, and a fox youkai with an orange and white tail similar to Shippo’s were all a part of the gang. Last but not least, their leader was a tall broad shoulder muscular Ryuu daiyoukai with waist length raven color hair and dark purple streaks in his mane. He had fair colored skin with piercing lavender eyes and black slits for pupils. His strong jaw line and sharp features were accompanied by lavender color scales that was one inch across were his pointy ears met his hair line of the sides of his face. The scales ran from his temples and became narrower until they reached tip of his chin. His neck was composed of lavender color scales that covered the back of his neck. Going towards the front of his neck, the scales looked like a V shaped collar. He wore silver and black bone armor that had spikes with hooks at the tips. The curved spikes were around his collar and the shoulders. Accompanying the bone armor were silver colored wrist guards that extended from his wrist to his mid forearms. He wore a green rob with lose fitted white pants. A black obi kept the robe closed. The pants were tucked inside long black leather boots. Said Ryuu was the one wielding large jagged bladed scythe that missed Inuyasha and Kouga neck by a hair. His very aura made it known that he was the leader of the band of youkai that dared to invade the fortress. A very powerful one at that. This daiyoukai made the hairs on the back of Inuyasha and Kouga necks stand on end, Kouga tail bristle and made goose bumps raise on Inuyasha skin.

The group of youkai minions surrounded the two canines, poised in fighting stances ready to attack without mercy. Some licked their chops as if they were going to enjoy a buffet. A few had malevolent smirks on their faces thinking about how much fun they would have slaughtering the pair like sheep. The rest of them seemed as if they were pissed the fuck off and itching to dig their claws into the two males flesh, feel the meat rip from their bones hear their flesh tearing along with their howls of pain and agony.
However, they held back, waiting for their leader to give them the order…
The Ryuu looked at Inuyasha and Kouga from their feet to their heads as if sizing them up. After looking them over he merely gave them a crooked smile that showed off his right fang and allowed his dark purple claws to elongate. His left hand hung by his side while his right held his scythe upright. He didn’t even bother to get into a proper fighting stance so he could go on the offensive or defensive. He just stood there, waiting…
‘Ha, these pups shall pose no problem’. He thought with the arrogance that could be easily sensed by his behavior.
Not liking the condescending smirk they received from the Ryuu nor the nonchalant way he was standing as if they were of no threat to him, Inuyasha and Kouga asked at the same time…
“Who the fuck are you assholes!?” and…
“What the fuck do you want!?”
The fact that they had the same thoughts surprised the two and they both thought that if they are thinking alike, then they are hanging around each other to much. However, now was not the time to worry about that. Now was the time to kick some youkai ass…
The Ryuu responded casually with a heavy smooth voice was similar to Ryuukossei’s but had a slight hiss to it:
“My what foul language you use. Then again, I should expect nothing more from a loathsome hanyou. After all, you have the stench of human blood coursing through your veins. But you young prince, you should know better than to address your superiors with such disrespect.” The Ryuu finished his lecture giving Kouga a pointed look.
Kouga and Inuyasha growled and Inuyasha said:
“You won’t have to worry about your delicate senses being offended by the smell of human blood… after I separate that head from that scaly neck of yours”.
Inuyasha cracked his knuckles as he spoke to the snobbish creep, contemplating how to get to his Tessaiga which somehow ended up on the other side of the bathing chambers by the stands he used when he stripped out of his clothing.
‘Gah! Between arguing with that Baka and these clowns showing up, I left Tessaiga way over there. For fuck sakes! How could I be so careless and get so comfortable in Sesshoumaru Ma home’ of all places!’ He berated himself.
That and the fact that he was still naked in front of these trespassing bastards and that Kouga tackled him while they were both naked didn’t help his mood either.
“I say we wipe the floor with these shitheads and show them just who’s superior” Kouga said getting into a battle stance and not giving a damn about being naked.
Inuyasha cracked his knuckles deciding that his deadly claws would have to do for now and that being bashful or worrying about mistakes already made isn’t going to keep them alive.
Inuyasha and Kouga, as if they fought together for years advanced on the leader at the same time by rushing at him with speed and agility of well-trained youkai warriors while watching out for the rest of the invaders movements.
Still with that irritating smug smirk on his face, without moving a muscle he told his crew:
“Handle those irritants, I have an imposture of a daiyoukai to hunt down”. With that he turned his back on them and proceeded to look for the “imposture”.
The crew did just as they were told without a word, only battle cries as they begin to attack Inuyasha and Kouga before the two canines could reach the Ryuu.
The invaders came at them…hard and fast from all sides.
“Iron Reaver Soul Stealer!” Inuyasha shouted as her leaped into the air toward the enemies in front of him.
He made a forward swipe downward hitting and cracking the marble floor his claws made contact with. With this move he managed to cause the group to spread out to avoid the deadly attack, giving him and Kouga some breathing room.
Kouga called upon the Goraishi, the large metal claw of his ancestors to attack the elementals that sought to boil them alive by mixing their water and fire elements in a very coordinated attack, which caused the water in the bath to emerge into a large steaming hot bubble with blue fire on the outside of it burning fiercely. If captured in the bubble it would be like boiling and burning in a fish bowl all at the same time.
One horizontal swipe of the Goraishi clawed weapon on Kouga right hand after using his powerful legs to leap away and avoid the boiling hot mess managed to interrupt this attack. The boiling water splashed towards some of their enemies causing them to scatter.
Kouga actions gave Inuyasha a chance to make a break for his weapon on the other side of the room. Inuyasha was busy trying to fend of the other youkai by jumping forward towards one of the enemies and landing a fly cross punch with his right hand to the neko youkai left jaw causing the neko to fall backwards, skid several feet back on the marble floor and hit the hard unforgiving wall with the back of his head. This left the neko dazed to say the least. Not to mention a crack in the wall where said neko head made its acquaintance with the marble.
After landing on his feet, Inuyasha initial attack on the neko was immediately followed by Inuyasha leaping up into the air between the space of the ogre youkai arms who tried to give him a bear hug. Holding his arms horizontally across his chest with his palms outward and fingers flexed. His left hand was directly over his right hand. He whipped both arms outward in opposite directions as he did a forward flip and sailed in the air over the ogre’s head. The result of this maneuver was Inuyasha claws making contact with the ogre youkai face leaving eight deep gashes on its forehead causing blood to run into all of its eyes and making it impossible for it to see. The ogre let out a roar of outrage and pain. Said ogre attempted to blindly attack the Inu that had dared to scar him. The irate ogre tried to turn the Inu hanyou into a bloody pulp, by making a 180 degree turn, making a vertical sludge hammer double fist and bringing them down hard. The ogre missed his target and hit the floor instead, causing the entire chamber to shake. The hebi youkai managed to catch Inuyasha from behind with his claws on Inu hanyou left shoulder as soon as he landed on the floor. Lucky for him, this particular race of hebi youkai only had venom in his teeth, so Inuyasha jump forward away from the hebi rotated 180 degrees in midair, dug his right claws into his left shoulder, snatched the blood from the wounds and did a backhand swing with palms facing outward as he shouted “BLADES OF BLOOD”. He was able to catch the hebi off guard with this move, cutting its head off. The body stumbled around for a while as the head rolled into the bathing area.
“Dammit mutt, hurry up already! Kouga shouted at Inuyasha.
The elementals were tougher than the wolf first thought. Kouga was managing to keep them off of Inuyasha ass with the Goraishi attacks as the Inu ran to retrieve his weapon but he couldn’t keep it up forever!
Kouga leaped back to avoid their next coordinated attack, a funnel of fire and water spinning together. It was similar in shape to Inuyasha’s Backlash Wave. The funnel hit the floor instead of the wolf when he leaped up out of the way. The attack only managed to place more cracks and breaks in the marble floor and cause steam to rise to the ceiling. Kouga used his momentum, as he was still in the air, to push himself forward. He sailed between the fire and water elementals to avoid another ongoing stream of fire and water. As he leaped between them they turned to attack him. Instead however, he was too fast and they ended up hitting each other with their attacks, knocking each other on their ass and grunting in pain. Kouga managed to land on his feet, skid to a halt and turn to face water and fire.
“Ha, how you like that you boot licking shits” Kouga jeered at the two elementals with his famous wolfish grin.
Pissed off scorched and waterlogged, the water and fire elementals were back on their feet and on the wolf’s tail again as they hissed the word concurrently…
“Bastard”…
While Kouga was keeping the elementals occupied, the crow youkai saw the hanyou objective and decided to play keep away with Tessaiga. Instead when the crow grabbed the crushing fang that was within its sheath, he received a nasty shock by the sword and a drop kick to his beak breaking it, courtesy of Inuyasha feet. The crow flew into one of the racks that held a variety of oils, making a loud crashing noise on impact. Glass and oils splashed everywhere. The crow didn’t move again. Part of its beak was rammed into its brain causing it to be paralyzed. Quickly Inuyasha grabbed his sword and a towel, covering his lower half, cursing the blockheads for washing his fire rat robe, the armor that would decrease his chance of injury. However, he had not time to think about that, Kouga was about to get a sneak attack by the neko who he had knocked cold earlier.
“Baka, Watch your back!” Inuyasha shouted before going after the cat with his father fang.
Inuyasha cursed the fact that he was indoors. If he used any of his special attacks such as the Wind Scar, it could cause untold damage. Not to mention the possibility of injuring or even killing Rin. He figured the others in the pack would be able to get out of the way before being hit. However, he had no idea where the pup was and did not want to risk killing her while trying to take out the enemy. He had a difficult time sniffing her out with the stench of all the vile youkai in the vicinity. So he opted for good old fashion slice and dice. Drawing the sword from his scarab while it was in his left hand, he revealed the blade true form by transforming it into the long curved fang with the off white tuft of fur on top of the hilt.
Then with a look of determination, Inuyasha charged the neko…
Kouga ducked another attack by the elementals, rolled out the way and jumped, taking a vertical downward swipe with Goraishi at the elementals in the air causing them to spread apart and keep their attention on him. When the neko tried to creep up behind Kouga and to plunge his claws into the wolf back after he turned around to face the elementals once more, the wolf heard Inuyasha call out to him and turned just in time to see the sneak attack. As Kouga turned to the left he barely managed to push the cat right hand to the side and deliver a side kick to the neko stomach sending it tumbling backwards. Using his claws to stop his momentum across the marble the neko managed to right himself. The elementals sent another attack Kouga way as he faced off with the neko. Looking over his shoulder he saw the whips of water and fire coming for him. He rolled to the side and jumped to the right, back and to the left.
‘Man these assholes are relentless’. Kouga thought as he continued to dodge the elementals whips…
While Kouga was dodging the fire and water attacks, Inuyasha took horizontal, vertical and diagonal swipes at the neko. However, the agile neko managed to dodge each one them.
The neko jumped over Inuyasha head trying to take a swipe at the top of his head aiming for the sensitive ears and scalp. Inuyasha barely managed to place his blade above his head horizontally to block the attack. Inuyasha turned to his right trying to cleave the cat in half when it landed. The neko jumped over the blade to avoid the attack and gave a forward kick to Inuyasha’s face, knocking him into the wall. Next thing Inuyasha knew, the cat was on him. The Inu hanyou was pinned against the wall by the cat grabbing Inuyasha hands that was wrapped around the sword hilt.
The cat pushed the blade up and forward. The sharp end closing in on Inuyasha neck.
“Just so you know you flea beaten mongrel, I like to play with my prey before killing it. Now that I grow bored, you will meet your end.” The cat said with a smirk of triumph.
Inuyasha snarled and said:
“Big talk coming from a mangy dead feline...”
“You still think you can win, do you.” The cat hissed as he pushed the blade further towards Inuyasha, noticing the injury to his left arm would make it more difficult for the hanyou to break the hold.
“Oh I know I will…” Inuyasha said with a grunt and knowing smirk…
The neko hissed again at the arrogance of the half human creature before him and pushed harder, hoping to kill the Inu with his own blade.
Since said neko back was turned the he did not see the ogre lumbering towards him and since he was too focused on taking Inuyasha out, he did not catch the ogre scent until it was too late. Those fist of steel came down towards Inuyasha and the neko. The Inu took his right foot, placed it on the neko abdomen and pushed back just enough so he could be under the mighty fists of the ogre. A split second later, Inuyasha dove to the left just in time to avoid critical injury or death. The fists came down on the neko instead and ended up crushing the demon into a bloody pulp. A fate that was intended for Inuyasha. The force of the blow caused debris to fly and carnage to splatter. Inuyasha rolled to a kneeling position and covered his eyes and body with Tessaiga to shield himself from the marble and gore that flew in his direction.
Kouga was sick of the elementals attacking from a distance and thankful that Inuyasha was watching his back. So the wolf decided it was time to get up close and personal. Running towards them dodging their fireballs and water spears and he ran to the right than left. Jumping into the air towards the right he propelled himself off of the right wall and sailed towards the fire elemental, landing a side jump kick to the fire ribs sending the fire elemental flying towards the water elemental. Both screamed in pain as they connected and their powers cancelled each other out. Kouga remembered earlier how much pain they were end when the hit each other with their attacks. He figured that if a single attack towards each other could knock them out of the air and on their asses, those two hitting each other head on should cause both elementals some major damage. Turns out his hypothesis was right. Both elementals fell to the ground fire on top of water, caught off guard by the wolf quickness and evaporated, leaving nothing but a sound of sizzle behind and a burn on the bottom of the wolf right foot.
Kouga than landed by Inuyasha side, ignoring the pain under his right foot. Looking around they noticed what looked like the monkey youkai that was missing a head and the fox youkai that was cleaved in two. Also the crow youkai innards was in the same area where the oils were spilled. Apparently, he was stepped on while he was unable to move.
“Ha, looks like the ogre did some of the work for us.” Kouga said with a laugh.
“Yeah and he’s still looking for us to add to his collection of smashed youkai”. Inuyasha said with a smirk as both he and Kouga notice the beast charging towards them.
“Let’s thank him for his help.” Kouga said as he readied his Goraishi.
“Right, you hit him high and I’ll hit him low.” Inuyasha said as he effortlessly position himself in a fighting stance, his sword at the ready.
“Don’t get use to giving me orders Mutt!” Kouga demanded.
“Gah. Just do it already!” Inuyasha said in irritation.
With that they rushed the ogre.
Kouga and Inuyasha ran towards the ogre with speed and agility that comes with years of training, shouting their battle cries as they did so. The beast swung his fist low. Inuyasha slide vertically between the ogre legs holding his sword straight up avoiding the hit. At the same time Kouga leaped in the air to avoid the attack and aimed for the beast neck. Kouga cleaved straight through its neck decapitating it, while Inuyasha split the ogre open from crotch to diaphragm, spilling its guts and losing his towel in the process. Both of them managed to avoid most of the gore and Inuyasha managed to slide out from under it just in time before the beast hit the ground in a crashing boom!
Inuyasha quickly grabbed another towel and threw one to Kouga, who finally had a chance to cover himself up.
After fixing his towel he notice something.
“Oi where the hell did that other brown nosing youkai go?” He was referring to the Inu youkai that came with the Ryuu.
Before Kouga could answer Inuyasha noticed something, or rather someone had entered the room.

“Oh shit, Sesshoumaru!” Inuyasha shouted as he noticed the scaly Ryuu who had leaped down from the ceiling and walked towards his sister like a predator…
Inuyasha started to rush to her aid not giving a flying fuck if she was to prideful to ask for help or if she would kick his ass for interfering. That bastard she was fighting was another daiyoukai. Inuyasha could smell it on him, who knew what he was capable of!? She didn’t have any of her armor and was practically naked. Plus the Ryuu seemed pretty confident since he decided not to sneak Sesshoumaru from the ceiling and approached her as if she was nothing but a helpless buck in the woods, waiting for an inevitable death courtesy of her stalker…
