Sango walked silently up to the cabin.
It seemed be half buried under a hill, but the warm light that seeped through
the shady window looked cosy enough. She took a deep breath and took the last
steps to the wooden door. She knocked and waited for someone to response. Her
heart beat fast inside her chest, and her hand found the dagger she had hidden
behind her back. With a small creaky sound the door was opened and she was met
by a pair of gold glittering eyes. �Freaky.� Was the thought that run
through her head. But she cleared her throat.

I am sorry to bother you at an unearthly hour like this, but I have been
travelling all night and I would be very happy if I could spend the rest of the
night inside your cabin kind sir, said Sango. � I am willing to pay for my
quarters of course.

-
Have you been travelling through the forest? He asked with a voice filled
with� she was not sure what it was, taunting?

-
Yes I have.

You are lying!

Kind sir, I do not lie. I have been travelling through the forest during
this night. Why should I lie about such a thing? To a complete stranger as your
self sir?
The man frowned and brushed a silvery
strand from his face. �I guess he have gone south then, other wise this lady
would not have been alive to get even this far. But I can not let her be out
there much longer.� He thought and opened up his door and let her in.

Please come inside little missy, I will get you a nice bowl of soup. I
bet it is chilly this time of night.

-
Thank you sir, I really appreciate it, smiled Sango and took a step
inside the cabin.

Why are you out in the forest in the middle of the night missy?

-
I have my reasons, let us leave it at that, said Sango and saw him nod.
It was something very odd with this man,
he had the hair of an old man, but he was not old, hardly older than her.

What is your name missy?
�My name? I can not use my real
name�� she bit her lip before the lie slipped over
her lips.

My name is Nightfall, sister Nightfall in fact, she said.

Sister Nightfall? Are you a nun or something?
Sango nodded. God would probably strike
her with lightning as soon as she stepped out from the cabin later for that lie.

What is your name sir?

The name is Inuyasha, said the man and looked at her with his glimmering
eyes and Sango had to suppress a shudder again.

Do you live here alone? she asked and took the bowl of soup he held out
to her.

-
No, not exactly. I have a friend, but he comes and goes as he wishes.

Ohh, I understand, said Sango.

-
You do�? he snorted. � Not many does.

No, I am sorry, I just� I am sorry sir�
He snorted again but looked at the girl.
He could not see much of her due to her big cape, most of her face was covered
in darkness, but he could smell that she was young, twenty, twenty two at most.
Her voice was soft and nice, and he really liked the way she smelled. She
carried a feminine scent, but it was laced with something he only could call
fiery. Soft and fiery, he wanted to see her face, her eyes. But since she said
she was a nun�. Perhaps she was forbidden to show her face?

Why do your friend only come and goes as he wishes? asked Sango after a
while feeling a bit uncomfortable with the silence.

He is not a spirit to be contained in one place. He likes to move around.

-
Ohh sounds nice. I would like to be like that too, said Sango and
realized that she maybe had said too much.

-
The sisterhood is not for you?

-
I guess not � I ran away � wanting to feel freedom outside the walls, she
whispered and that was the truth.
Silence fell again and Inuyasha got up
and began taking up a couple of blankets and pillows from a big chest.

-
It is nothing fancy, but I hope you will cope, he mumbled.

-
Thank you sir, she said.

-
Do you want me to take your coat?
Sango bit her lip and then she nodded
and removed her cape and showed her true face for the first time.
Inuyasha�s heart was struck down by her
beauty. Her black hair reached her waist and it was braided into one thick
braid. Small ribbons were tied into the hair. Her face was flushed with a light
blush and he found it to bee adorable. But it was when she looked at him that he
fell, gods forbid it � but he knew it, he was falling in love with her. He
wanted to growl in discontent, she was going to be out of his life as soon as
she stepped out the door later. He saw her get into bed and she nodded before
closing her eyes. He wanted to slide down under the covers with her, he wanted
to bury his face in those black locks, inhale her minty scent like there was no
tomorrow. �And you know that Kurama would have a field day with this if he
knows.� He thought and wrinkled his nose in disgust when he thought of his
demon friend. Inuyasha himself was only half human, the other half being a dog
demon. But Kurama was a fox demon; a cunning and mischievously fox demon.
Inuyasha looked at the girl and he
melted away. How could he let her disappear from his life? He sniffed the air
and now he really growled. The fox was on the move� on the move to his cabin.
This was not good. But what could he do?
