A/N: WAFF alert... Lemon/Lime activity. Married Humor. Once more... this is my first IY
fanfiction and it is AU and they are married (several years). They are OOC some... I’m not too
sure if I got their personalities quite down yet... but I’m working on it... of course... with this
being AU and them being a real life married couple... it does tend to change the perspective... a
bit.
I wanted to focus on the dynamics of how a woman can feel ‘lonely’ even in what could be
considered ‘a good marriage’. There is more to a ‘relationship’ than the obvious. And I wanted
to focus on how a ‘good man’ can really beat himself up when he realized what he’s done wrong
and how he can basically ‘cut off his own leg’ trying to do ‘the right thing’. It takes two to
‘screw up’ and it takes ‘two to fix it’. Relationships and Marriage are a two-lane highway... it is
never one person̵faulfault nor can it work with only one person’s effort. It takes a lot of hard work
to be happy... it doesn’t ‘just happen’ by itself... it is the biggest ‘full-time job’ you will ever have
next to your ‘kids’... but if you love someone and they mean that much to you... then it’s the ‘best
job’ and the finest ‘piece of work’ you will ever do.
Too many couples give up too quickly... the road to Paradise was paved with stones just like any
other road... and it took a millennium to build it... how long is the road to you and your beloved’s
Paradise? And how long did it take to build? Did you finish it? Was it worth it? Or did you even
try?
Hang in there... Love is worth the price you pay... Pride, Arrogance, and all the other personal
vices may make you feel important, but they make lonely life partners and cold bed-mates. KnT

            His whole world had just incinerated itself around his feet and all Inuyasha could do was
hold his head and cry like a lost child. All thoughts of getting up and eating, or going to bed had
been pushed so far back into his mind that they would almost seem foreign were they to occur to
him now. He simply was not capable of anything other than his grief at the moment, and it was
unclear when he would be so the world continued to move on around him leaving him all but
undisturbed.
            How will I survive?

            Where can I go?
            Where do I start?
            HOW do I start?
            I can’t... I can’t... I just can’t... The world became a black and desolate place inside of his
head and he lost all perspective of himself as the paonsuonsumed and over whelmed him. It was
becoming his world... It was becoming HIM.
            “Inu?” That voice... Ooooh, that beautiful, beautiful voice... HER voice. Why? Why
could he not be spared of even that? Why must be plagued by that angelic voice within the
maddening pain that was becoming his mind? Had he not sacrificed enough? Must he endure this
as well?
            “Inuyasha?” There... It came again, only much louder and more insistent almost as if it
were filling with the sound of very human anxiety and concern... oh, if only it were true. If only
she were really here, how he would hold her and never let her go... but...
            “Inuyasha?!” Suddenly the firm grips of very real hands were yanking and pulling at his
wrists and his hair trying to bring his head up, but he resisted out of confusion and grief driven
numbness. He just wanted to be left alone with his pain-filled world, and no hallucination was
going to tempt him out of it. But this hallucination was not giving up and it’s actions were
becoming frantic and frightened while its breathing grew labored with the efforts it was
expending. “Dammit! Inuyasha,” It began to cry as it pulled at his wrists trying to free his head
from the death grip his fists held it in. “Look at me... LOOK AT ME!!” The voice screamed and
then a very soft, very warm female body was wrapping itself around him as uncontrolled sobs
overcame its physical efforts. “Please, Honey... please look at me... I’m real... and I’m here... I’m
home... I was home all along... I was upstairs in the bedroom waiting for you to come home... Oh
God... I never wanted this, I never wanted to leave... to say ‘Good-bye’... I love you, Inuyasha,
do you hear me, you stupid wonderful man? I love you.”
            “K-kag..?” Very slowly his hands released their steel hard grip on his hair and he
tentatively began to raise his ravaged face afraid as he did that she was just an angelic vision and
would disappear the moment he laid eyes on her. “Y-you love m-me?” He asked in the smallest
voice she had ever heard him use and the pain of it nearly choked her breath off completely
especially when she looked into the beloved golden eyes that were filled with so much grief and so
much fear.
            “Oh yes...” She whispered in a tight voice as shelt olt on the floor in front of him and
cradled his dear face between her hands. “I love you more than anything, Inu, I swear I do.”
            “You a-aren’t leaving me?”
            “Nooooooo....” Rising up on her knees, Kagome wrapped her arms tightly around her
husbands neck and shoulders and buried her face against his throat as tears poured down her face.
“I’ll never leave you... I promised you that the day you asked me to marry you... remember?”
            “I... I remember.” He whispered too afraid to touch her as he felt her press herself against
him. “But I promised I’d make you h-happy for the rest of your life... and I failed,ome.ome... I f-failed...”
            “No, you haven’t, you silly man.” She pulled away from him and pressed her forehead
against his as she felt the immense emotional wave of guilt rush through him. “You haven’t failed
me... we just... we just lost sight of what was the most important, Inu... that’s what happened, but
you never failed me, Sweetheart, you never failed me.”
            “I never loved you right.” His voice rasped hoarsely as his trembling hands finally reached
out and tentatively rested on her hips. “I neglected you...”
            “Yes...” Her agreement stabbed through him like a knife blade of white-hot pain and he
gasped at the intensity of it, but she refused to let him pull away. “But that doesn’t mean you
failed me, Inuyasha. It just means there are some things we need to work on... things like you
said on the phone.”
            “What things?” The shame of letting her down was weighing heavily upon him as he
gently tugged at her waist. “Tell me... tell me what you want, Kagome.”
            “Dancing without the radio,” She said as her hands began to caress the taunt muscles of
his shoulders and neck. “Sharing my shower, counting my freckles, kissing me good-bye...”
            “NO!” She pulled back sharply as he barked that one word, and when she met the
intensity of his golden gaze she realized what she had said.
            “At the airport, Baby... kissing me good-bye at the airport...”
            “No, Kagome... I... I don’t want you to go anymore...”
            “What?” She watched his face and saw a look of insecurity that rocked her to the roots of
her soul. “Are you really that afraid I’m going to leave you?” Her tone was as gentle as the
touch of her hands upon his face. “I will never leave you.”
            “That doesn’t matter anymore.”
            “Then why?”
            “Because I... I don’t want you to be gone from me like this anymore... I... I can’t stand it,
Kagome. I just can’t. I can’t stand this empty house, that damn empty bed... my fucking empty
life... I need you here with me... I need you.” Huge luminous blue-gray eyes searched the open
vulnerability of his liquid amber gaze and as she stared into the love that shone from those golden
depths, it made her catch her breath. “I don’t want us to spend so much time apart anymore... I
don’t want you to be gone from me like this. I love you too damn much.”
            “Inuyasha,” Kagome cupped his beloved face again as she gazed into the core of his soul
and saw HIM for the first time since she had known him. “You NEED me?”
            “Yes, I need you. You are the only thing in my life that makes it worth a damn, and I am
not going to let you out of my site again.ot lot like this. Do you understand?” She felt a smile
tugging at her mouth as the demanding edge started to creep back into his voice making him
sound more like the man she knew... and loved.
            “Yes, Inuyasha... I understand.”
            “Good, because if you go consulting for this long again, wench, I swear to God, it won’t
be three days before you’ll find me knocking on your Hotel room door telling you to get your
pretty ass back home where you belong.”
            “Promise?”
        㼠160;  “Promise.” The twinkle in her eyes was becoming contagious and he found himself almost
fighting a smile as he allowed his hands to creep the rest of the way around her waist and lock
together in the natural sway of her back.
            “That almost makes it worth it to go just to see if you’d do it.”
            “Oh really?” His hands urged her closer and she complied until her body was as flush with
his as her position would allow (which was considerable). “But you won’t, will you, Kagome?”
            “Hmmmm.” She rolled her beautiful eyes as if taking the thought into deep consideration
at which pointyashyasha finally gave in to something he had been wanting to do from the moment
she had finally understood how much he needed her and loved her. He unlocked his hands, lifted
them to cup her incredibly beautiful face, and then he covered her mouth with his and kissed her.
            Almost immediately the softness of her lips parted and allowed the heavy thrust of his
tongue as it invaded the intoxicating moistness of her mouth, and thick whimper of desire slipped
from between them as she molded herself into his embrace crushing the fullness of her breasts
against the hard muscled chest. This purely instinctive response to his kiss brought a strangled
moan of hunger from deep within him and suddenly the thin red satin robe she was wearing was
pushed her her creamy shoulders, down her arms, and tossed carelessly into the room somewhere.
            With a gasp of surprise and heated desire, Inuyasha found his eyes inexorably drawn to the
scantily clad figure of beauty he held in his arms, and with a feeling of reverence in his heart he
gently lowered them both to the cream-colored plush carpet, covering her swollen red lips once
more as he did.
          &; How had he not ‘seen’ what he was doing to her for so long?
            How had he not ‘seen’ her? Not seen ‘THIS’... this perfect porcelain beauty that was so
much more than just a ‘body’ of sensations for him to indulge himself in; there was a mind of
endless visions and humor, a heart capable of infinite forgiveness and unconditional love, and a
soul worth dying for... and living for.
            He had been such a fool... he promised himself he would not be that foolish again.
            The heat of her beneath him burned though his slacks and thin dress shirtd asd as the open
moistnesshis his mouth probed and worried over the sweetness of her lips, Inuyasha’s hand
tenderly caressed the smooth swan-like fragility of her slender throat before sliding slowly,
sensuously across the succulent flesh of her chest and down to her nearly nude breasts. The
delicate shiver that quacked through her body told him that she was his for the taking alre but but
there was so much more he wanted to give her... so much more he want to do.
            With a practiced snap of his fingers the front clasp of the lacy red bra unhooked and he

with his tongue while his hands slipped down her sides and found the elastic to her skimpy red

to the reaches of the unknown and unaware as his hand moved to slide up the inside’s of her leg’s
until he reached the milky warmth of her inner thighs. A long gasp of anticipation and hunger

move, Inuyasha slowly pulled up and looked down at the incredible woman lying beneath him.
            Her beautiful face was flush, the long ebony hair disheveled and spread out around her
head like a glistening raven’s wing, and her enormous blue-gray eyes were smokey and glazed
with a passionate heat that made the hardness of him tighten almost painfully with need of her.

            “I love you...” He whispered as he bent and brushed his lips across the swollen red of

            “I never forgot it before...” A trembling hand caressed the shape of his cheek and jaw as
her body shuddered with need against his chest. “We just sort of forgot what the important things
were, Inu... that’s all...”
            “I won’t do it again, Honey...” His mouth turned and pressed a burning kiss into the palm
of her hand. “I won’t ever forget... You’re all that matters to me... just you... everything else...
it’s bullshit without you.”
            “For me too... I... I...” Her fbecabecame suddenly pensive and she bit her lower lip in
shyness.
            “What?” Golden eyes searched her face in concern. “Tell me... tell me what you were
going to say, Kagome... tell me. No more secrets... no more dodging the truth... tell me.”
            “Oh Inu...” Blue-gray eyes clouded with anxiety and he immediately gathered her up in
his arms burying his face against her neck.
            “Tell me...” His voice was an agony.
            “I... I was so lonely.” The pain that pierced through him was almost worse than that
which he had felt earlier when he thought he had lost her forever. Lonely... with me here with
you? Lonely? Oh God, Baby... I’m sorry... so fucking sorry...
            “I’m s-sorry...” He choked out as he crushed her nakedness into him and held her closer
than he ever had before. “I... I didn’t kn-know... Shit! I didn’t...” And then his mouth was on
hers again, kissing... comforting... promising... promising her that she would never be alone or
lonely again not as long as he had breath in his body or blood in his veins.
            He would never let her be lonely again.
            In but a few short seconds, his clothing was gone and he at last lay skin to skin with her
glorying in the feel of her satin softness against him. She was like the warmth of the world and
the oceans embrace as her arms and legs wrapped around him pulling him inside of the moist
haven of her body.
            She was Heaven... She was Eternity... She was Home.
            The rhythm of his thrusting body against hers brought cries of pleasure and love from both
of them and they struggled and surged against one another in search of a level of fulfilment neither
had ever known but knew was possible if they but trusted in their Mate and reached for that
Golden World, and as the clock on the wall struck the hour, the stars exploded and the land
became awash with their brilliance and power.
            The Lovers had reached the precipice... and made their leap of faith. Together they
floated in the afterglow of love within the realm of the Golden World, and they knew a peace and
a degree of bonding that had until then eluded them. Trust was born, and they fell asleep in each
others arms right there on their livingroom carpet.
            “Inu?”
            “Hmmmm?”
            “Are you awake?”
            “I am now...”
            “Ummmm... don’t you think we should get up and go to bed?”
            “Why? Aren’t you comfortable?”
            “Weeeelllll.... Not really... you are a bit heavy, and I think I’ve got rugrash on my ass.”
            “Whiner...” A soft chuckle tickled her ear and then he was moving off to her side and
rolling her with him until she was laying across his muscular chest. “There... that better, Mrs.
Whiner?”
            “Yes.” She gave him a sarcastic smile before she tweaked his nose. “Mr. I-gaied-fifteen-pounds-eating-TV-dinners-while-you-were-gone-Kag.” Inuyasha half sat up with an indignant
huff glaring at the smirking beauty on his chest.
            “Fifteen pounds?!” He croaked. “You little... Like hell I gained fifteen pounds! You
show me where I gained fifteen pounds and you get to get OUT of the sound beating I am going
to give you when we get up off this floor, Woman!”
            “Ewwwwwww... testy, aren’t we?” She affectionately patted his head as if he were her
favorite dog and then offered him one of her most dazzling smiles. “Ah, Honey. I was just
kidding... You know that? Don’t you?” He eyed her suspiciously as he folded one of his arms
behind his head as a make-shift pillow so he could look at her better and then reached out and
brushed her hair out of her face with a gentle hand.
            “Hmmm...Maybe... but I’m still going to enjoy beating you when you can’t find that
fifteen pounds your bitching about.” The look he gave her now was purely male and it made
Kagome pull back just a little as a wave of nervousness washed over her.
            “Hey, I thought we were teasing here...” She said, her tone defensive.
            “Oops... sorry, didn’t I tell you.... I’m not teasing.” One golden eye winked and he
reached up to tickle her under her chin. “Start lng, ng, baby... I’m waiting.”
            “Inu...!” Kagome began to look completely panicked as she began to think that maybe he
wasn’t teasing after all. She knew he wouldn’t actually beat her... but a sound spanking was not
beyond him. No, not beyond him at all. In fact, the perverted side of him would probably enjoy
it.
            “What Honey?” Innocence was not one of his best qualities.
            You You really wouldn’t... would you?” She started to back up and inch as a time hoping he
wouldn’t notice.
            “Wouldn’t what? Beat you?”
         &;  “Uh-huh?”
            “Course not...” He smiled at her winningly as the look of relief washed over her features.
“But you ever insinuate I’m fat again... and I’m gonna spank you until you can’t walk or sit right
for a week...” Kagome’s eyes shot up in shocked surprise just in time to catch the feral look of
predatory promise in his hooded golden gaze, and gooseflesh popped out all over her body. He
means it... he really means it... Damn!
            ‘You better believe I do... Missy. And I’d enjoy it too... but you’d enjoy what happened
after... trust me... oh yes you would.’
            “Ummm... Ok...” She looked so co~tr}te that Inuyasha burst into loud rich laughter and
sat up to pull her into his arms.
&#          “Stop worrying... you’ll get wrinkles before your twenty-five.” He laughed as he
burrowed into her neck.
            “You ought to know...” Was her sharp retort earning her a t swt swat on the butt to
which she shrieked and shoved him away toppling him over.
            “YOU RAT!!” She screeched. “I can’t believe you did that!” But before she could yell
anymore curses down on his head, Inuyasha tackled her and began tickling her bringing a cascade
of delightful giggles tumbling out of her mouth. “St-stop... stop.. I-inu... oh sh-shit... st-stop...”
            About an hour later and after a long languid shower together, the exhausted couple finally
found their way to the big King-size waterbed in their room and crawled under the covers to get
some much needed sleep. Inuyasha was laying on his back with Kagome curled tightly up against
his side, her head resting in the hollow of his shoulder and chest. His arm was wrapped snugly
around her holding her where she was, and he had informed her that he had no intention of letting
her go until they got up the next morning.
            “I want to wake up with you right here. Understand?”
            “Yes, Inu...” The darkness hid the misty smile that covered her face as she settled herself
against him and found a comfortable place. “I don’t really want to move either.”
            “Good... then we don’t have a problem.”
            “No, Baby... we don’t have a problem.” Silence had sed bed between them for quite a few
moments and then Inuyasha had spoken again his voice very quiet and strange sounding.
            “Kag... can I ask you something?”
            “Sure. Whatever you want.”
          &; “Do you want to have a baby?” The question, coming out of the blue like it did, caught
her completely off guard, and she just lay speechless for several seconds.
            “I... umm, why do you ask?” She wasn’t sure what to say. He had never wanted to talk
about it before when she had brought it up, so she had stopped.
            “Ummm, well... because... we’ve never really talked about it, and tonight... well, tonight
we didn’t use any protection, so...”
            “Are you saying that you think you might have gotten me pregnant, Inu?”
            “Well, as near as I can calculate it, we are about two weeks to ten days before your
period... and that’s about right... isn’t it?” He sounded pensive... tentative.
            “More or less... you never know though. It’s not an exact science, Inu.” ‘Oh Shit! I
didn’t even think about that... I left the rubber by the bed when I went downstairs...’
            “But it’s still possible...”
            “I... I guess so... but like I said...”
            “Yeah, yeah... it’s not an exact science.” He was laughing. ‘Laughing?’
            “Inu?” She turned to look up at him in the dark wishing she could see his face. “Are you
worried we might... that I might be... that...”
            “No... I’m not worried about it.” He didn’t sound worried either.
            “Then what is the deal?”
            “I’m asking you if you want to have a baby, Kagome... after all, it is you that gets to
‘carry’ the little monster for nine months, not me.” Now Kagome was really confused.
            “Inuyasha,” She sat up and turned on the bedside lamp so she could look at him and found
his face with a small smirk on it. “What the hell is going on? Are you telling me that after all
ti
time, YOU want to have a baby?” She stared at him incredulous, and he sat up to meet her
confused gaze.
            “Yes... I am.” Short. Simple. To the point, and Kagome could do nothing but stare in
stunned disbelief. “And now that we have THAT point cleared up, will you answer MY
question... Do YOU want to have a baby?” Speechless, she could still do nothing but stare at him
with wide luminous eyes; however, this time she managed a mute nod in assent followed by a
choked sob of pure joy, and then she was throwing her arms around his neck and hugging him so
tightly Inu was afraid he wouldn’t be able to breath if she didn’t let go.
            “I’ll... take... that... as a... yes.” He croaked as he wrapped his arms around her and
rocked her back and forth. The ebony head nodded furiously against his neck and he managed a
raspy chuckle past her death grip. “Kag...” Tugging on her arms gently he whispered into her
hair. “Let up a little, Honey... I can’t breath.” Immediately her hold lessened and she was pulling
away to look into his face with blushing concern.
            “Sorry...”
            “It’s Ok.” He kissed her and stroked her cheeks with his fingers. “I’ll live.” She giggled
and hugged him again, but not quite as forcefully. “That’s better.”
            “Inu?” Her voice was muffled against his neck.
            “Hmmm?”
            “I love you.” A smile of such immense tenderness curled his handsome lips, and a feeling
of love unlike any he had felt for her before filled his heart and soul as he listened to those simply
spoken words. “I love you forever... I’ll never leave.”
            “And I’ll never give you a reason to want to... I never will.” ‘You’ll never onelonely
again... My beautiful Angel... never.’
