It has come to my attention that my spelling can� well� suck. So I've had this story edited for your reading pleasure. ^_^TL

Fall had just started to settle into the trees around Priestess Kaede�s village. Kagome lay in the old Miko�s hut, exhausted by the hard labor she�d done that day. Granted she volunteered to help with the harvest, but it still was harder then she thought. It was nice to relax. Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango and Shippou all sat waiting for dinner to be ready. None of them seemed as tired as Kagome. She closed her eyes for a moment. Next thing she knew Shippou was shaking her awake and shoving a bowl of stew at her.

�Kagome, wake up, foods done.� He set the bowl in front of her, �Didn�t you do that kind of work where you come from?�

�Not usually.� She yawned. Sure Kagome had to move the occasional box at the family shrine where she lived but that was basically it. Inuyasha looked a her. It had been two months since they had first taken each other�s virginity's. They still snuck around, not yet ready to tell the others. The times when he was about ready to tell where on the nights of the new moon. *Lousy human emotions*, he thought.

�Inuyasha, is something wrong? Are you mad at me or something?� Kagome asked. He looked at the ground and realized he�d been scowling. The sun started to set behind the mountains.

�Kagome come take a walk with me.� Inuyasha stood and walked out of the hut. Kagome grabbed her sweater and followed him.

�Those two have been acting weird.� Sango said.

�They haven�t argued in a while.� Shippou said.

�That's what I mean.� She answered.

�They often come back smelling like each other.� Shippou said then. He thought for a minute and added, �Come to think about it I usually smell sweat on them and their hearts are beating fast. Twice they where kinda out of breath and had this odd odor around them.� He finished oblivious to the looks being passed around.

�I see reason finally gave way to passion.� Miroku said swirling the rest of his stew in the bowl.

Outside, Inuyasha and Kagome where in the forest deep in a kiss. They had come a long way since that first time in Kagome�s bedroom. They�d learned to explore each other�s bodies with mouths and with hands. The kisses themselves where proof of that. Inuyasha�s hands slid from Kagome�s back to their now normal resting place at the top of her butt. He loved the feel of her under his hands, or when they where together and Inuyasha knew that she was his. He pulled back suddenly.

�What�s wrong?� Kagome asked in a horse whisper. Inuyasha pulled her in tighter and jumped out of the way of a scared arrow. He let go of Kagome and stood in front of her, drawing the Tetsusaiga.

�Kikyo, what are you doing here?� Inuyasha growled.

�I�ve come to see you. But it appers you�re busy.� Kikyo jumped out of the tree and stalked towards them.

�And the arrow?� He asked.

�I had to get your attention somehow.� She looked at Kagome, �You, girl, do you love him?� Kikyo drew another arrow, �if I said one of you will not live to see tomorrow, who would you choose? Will it be you or Inuyasha that sees the sun rise?�

�Leave her alone.� Inuyasha brought the woman�s attention to him. Kikyo swung the bow and arrow in his direction and fired. He blocked with his sword but was thrown back against a tree. A little uneasy, he stood. Kikyo now had a clear shot at Kagome.

She drew an another arrow and sighted. �You should have gotten out of my way.�

Kagome glared at her. �I wasn�t in your way.� Kikyo scowled at her and drew a little tighter. Right at the moment when Kikyo fired, Koga hit her in the back sending the arrow into a tree where it broke off a branch that fell and knocked out Inuyasha.

�Koga, what are�� Kagome asked

�I thought I�d come to see you.� He said taking her hand. �Kagome, come back with me. Mut-face can�t take care of you the way I can.� Koga pulled her in close. He let go and grabbed Kikyo�s air-born arrow, breaking it in half.

�What did you do to make this woman mad, Kagome?�

�Well� it�s a long story.� She looked down.

Koga looked at her, �You smell like that dog. What have you been up to?� Kagome was in the middle of a long string of �oh, um, er� when Kikyo jumped on Koga�s back. She brought the knife she�d been hiding down into his chest. Koga sent her to the ground flat on her back. He pulled the knife out.

�You might want to improve your aim,� he looked at the blade, �You didn�t even hit anything vital.�

Kikyo drew another arrow, �A mistake I will not make again.� She fired. Koga jumped and back kicked the arrow, sending it into the ground. He rushed Kikyo with her own knife. Koga took her low in the chest. Kikyo fell to the ground holding the wound. Her eyes fluttered close.

�I don�t like killing women, but you left me no choice.� Koga stood over Kikyo�s lifeless body. Inuyasha regained consciousness. His eyes focused on a bloody Koga.

�Koga, damn you!� He shouted.

�She was trying to kill Kagome. If I hadn�t intervened, Kagome would be dead now.�

�Did you have to kill her?�

�Would you have allowed that woman to injure Kagome?� Koga glared at the other man. Inuyasha thought for a moment. He loved Kagome, but he also still had feelings for Kikyo. *Do I still love her though?* Inuyasha asked himself. He looked at Kagome. She looked almost hurt. Inuyasha gave her a small smile. He�d go to any lengths to protect her. He wouldn�t have necessarily killed Kikyo, but he�d have found a way to get the point across.

�No, Kagome is too important to me. But I�d have tried to keep Kikyo alive too.� Inuyasha said reaching out to Kagome. She smiled and took his hand. Koga stepped close to Inuyasha. He took a deep breath.

�You have Kagome�s sent all over you.� Koga�s eyes narrowed. Inuyasha gave him a superior smile and was about to tell about his and Kagome�s many rendezvous� {if that�s a word} when Koga�s wolves called.

�Well Mutt- face, I have to go. You can try to get a hit on me next time. Kagome, my love, all you need to do is call and I�ll be there to protect you. Bye.� He ran off. Kagome waved bye at Koga�s dust cloud.

�How could you let him do that?� Inuyasha growled at her.

�Do what? We were in serious trouble and he helped us.� Kagome looked at him.

�I could have handled it with out his help.� Inuyasha starred down at her.

�You where knocked unconscious.�

�I was not until HE showed up.�

�When you were asked if you would let her kill me,� Kagome pointed to the spot where Kikyo lay, �You took longer then necessary to answer.� Inuyasha looked where she pointed.

�Uh, Kagome, where did she go?� Inuyasha asked. Kagome turned and looked. Kikyo was gone.

�I sense jewel shards. A lot of jewel shards. Moving away really quickly.�

Inuyasha smelled the air, �Naraku.� he growled. Inuyasha started to move towards the sent. He turned to see Kagome looking down, tears glittering in her eyes. Inuyasha walked back to her, pulling her close. �I don�t care for Kikyo half as much as I care for you.� He lifted a hand to her check, wiping away the tears. He brought his lips to hers in a light kiss. He leaned back and whispered in her ear, �My life is yours.� Tears fell from Kagome�s eyes faster, but not from sadness. Inuyasha kissed her again, but this kiss grew. Kagome sagged a little under the ferocity of it. He picked her up into his arms and laid her gently in the grass. Inuyasha kneeled over Kagome resuming the kiss. Kagome ran her hands along his back. Inuyasha ran his hand along her leg from knee to hip. Her skin was so soft. Kagome lightly moaned under Inuyasha's touch.

�Kagome, I�� He started. Kagome put her hand to his lips. Inuyasha moved to kneel between her legs. He lightly ran his hand up her leg again, just inside her thigh. Kagome threw her head back under the sensation. Inuyasha leaned over and kissed her neck. Kagome felt him through the cloth of his pants, hard and ready. She ached for him; for him to touch her bare skin, to feel him on her, in her, surrounding her, she ached for him. Inuyasha very slowly moved Kagome�s underwear down away from her body. Inuyasha then removed his pants and placed them somewhere near Kagome�s panties. He moved his hand to find her wet spot. Kagome gasped when he touched her. When Inuyasha moved his index finger inside, Kagome called out. He slid another in. Kagome was reeling from the pleasure when he removed them. Then something much larger waited at her entry. Inuyasha pushed himself in. Kagome cried out as she lifted her head. She felt her body contract around him. He lowered his head from the feel of her. Kagome was so wonderfully tight, like she was specifically his size. He gently drew himself out and then pushed back in. He kept that as his rhythm for a time and after a while quickened. Kagome moaned from the feel. The point of climax hit Kagome unexpectedly. She called out Inuyasha�s name and ranking her nails down Inuyasha�s covered arms. Only moments later Inuyasha followed as he gave one last push and collapsed to the side of her. Kagome groped for her underwear as Inuyasha pulled on his pants. He looked at Kagome looking at the sky. When she noticed, she smiled at him. Inuyasha stood, helping Kagome to her feet.

�Lets get back before they start to suspect something.� He closed his hand around Kagome�s.

�They�re back!� Shippou said looking up for his third bowl of stew. Moments later Kagome and Inuyasha walked in.

�There�s that odor again.� He said thinking out loud.

�A walk, you say?� Miroku mused. Inuyasha gave him a blank expression. Kagome turned bright red.

�What odor?� She asked.

�Sometimes when you and Inuyasha come back from a walk or your era there�s a weird odor�� Shippou sniffed her leg. Inuyasha sniffed Kagome. She did smell like sex. He was betting so did he. �� My Ma and Pa would smell like this some times�� he was cut off by Inuyasha picking him up by the tail.

�Keep your senses to yourself, brat!� He said and threw the little fox into the woods.

�Inuyasha!� Kagome said. He turned to her. This was the maddest he�d seen her in two months. If they had been alone he would have give her a kiss and apologized for making her angry. But they weren�t alone, if fact they seemed to be tonight's cheap entertainment.

�What are you starring at?!� He growled at the others.

�It has been months since ye have argued.� Kaede stirred what was left of the stew.

�Only a guilty mind would have reacted like that.� Sango added.

�And Kagome�s reaction seems to confirm what Shippou had led us to believe.� Miroku finished.

�And what have you come to believe?� Inuyasha asked, gritting his teeth.

�That you and Kagome have told each other how you feel and expressed those feelings.� Miroku said after a moment of thought. Inuyasha glared at the Monk. Kagome tried to hide the expression of surprise on her face.

�You�re right.� She said in a small voice. �We forgot to take into account Shippou�s demon abilities. That he�d be able to tell.�

�So you two are together now?� Sango asked. She had suspected it for sometime now.

�Yeah.� Inuyasha said defensively. He knew this day would come. Shippou ran back into the hut. He glared at the half demon.

�Inuyasha! What was that for?!�

�I�ll tell you when you�re older.� Inuyasha flopped down. He told about their �walk� and about seeing Koga, Kikyo and sensing Naraku.

�We think Naraku took Kikyo�s body.� Kagome added quickly.

�So the souls ascended?� Kaede asked. Inuyasha and Kagome looked at each other. They both shook their heads no. �Then it is possible that, due to the wound, she just passed out. Naraku could have taken her because they do indeed have a pact.�

�We should look for them.� Sango said after a moment of thought. They all nodded in agreement. It was Miroku who suggested they set out the next day. Again, they all nodded in agreement. Before the sun rose the next day the group headed off in search of Naraku *And Kikyo,* Inuyasha added silently.

Before you all decide to murder me for this ending, �Winter� is currently in production. Because I have never seen Ayame and don�t know her personality I have decided she don�t exist {I love creative license}. But not to fear, I will make Koga a NEW girlfriend so he will eventually leave Kagome alone. ^_^ TL
